  • Hmm how does this compare to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 4G.. Look forward to your comments.

Edit - Oh 1080p, slighty smaller screen.. Slightly faster processor.. hmmm Might be better than a Oppo Find 5 ?

    • From the specs, htc one has a lot better screen resolution or pixels (400ppi) and a great camera with ultrapixel technology.
I guess those two are stand out.
note 2 has a huge screen at 5.5 inch.

The camera looks great though you have to wonder why they have a (relatively) low megapixel camera with such a high resolution screen.

        • +7

megapixels don't really matter, its a matter of how well it is tuned.

        • +1

Its a bigger sensor so you will get a better image in low light.

Anything above 5 on a phone is rather pointless anyway.

But this will turn a lot of people off though.

        • The early shots show they're possibly slightly better than the iPhone 5's camera in the right conditions. Not much of a standout performance.

        • It's 4UP(ultrapixels) not MP.

        • UP is just a fancy name for MP with larger pixels.

        • A good point to consider that proves how little Megapixels matter: Facebook limits their photos at (I think) 3.1MP.

    • No SD card slot. Might be a deal breaker for alot of people that want to load it with 1080p mkvs

      • Keep in mind the 4gb limit. Premier 1080p movies wouldn't fit and would also drain the battery like mad. It wasn't really meant for that purpose even though you can.

I think this is a great deal and I would get it if I didn't already have a one X. That said, the deal will get beaten in time.

    • Note 2 +1,

I don't own one but my girlfriend does and I was amazed by the function of S pen and the other features that it has :)

edit: wait for GS 4 to see how things turn out !

  • Beware guys, warranty will be an issue for a phone import

Learnt my lesson, cost me $700

Better to buy from Kogan when they have this as they offer their own 12 month warranty

    • +2

Yes to be wary of warranty.
      No to Kogan.

      • i mean safer to buy from Kogan than Amazon when it comes to phones

      • Bought my S3 from Kogan, died after 2 months. Kogan replaced it under warranty, done in a week with no hassle. I'll be buying phones from Kogan just for their customer service now.

OP , you cant link to previous deals that have a referral link
and referral link has to be posted after the original link

I would suggest you read the forum rules for referrals to avoid the penalty box

      Thanks for the help :)

      • +2

you also need to put the actual amazon links before your referral links

  • Is there any local stores which have the HTC one to look at yet?

Leaning towards the Xperia Z though, never liked Sense from what ive used of it and Im growing tired of touchwiz and Samsung (ill still wait for the S4 announcement anyway)

    • Sense 5 looks to be completely different to Sense 4

  • FHD on a 4.7" that absolutely cant tell the difference to HD

pretty much paying extra for bragging rights and killing your eyesight at the same time nice move

    • The way i see it, texts will be insanely clearer and you technically can fit more of an A4 in the screen… granted
      - you have insanely good eyesight to read microscopic texts
      - the app will even allow you to zoom out to those levels.

    • +1

The only real reason is that Android can't yet extend to a different screen, so when you clone to a 1080 TV you get proper 1080.

      • Thats a good point, if you get USB -> HDMI

    • Not just for a boost in resolution, a boost in screen quality and possibly readability outdoors.

This is a screen comparison between the HTC One and the One X. Take a guess which is which.

      • They are so similar I can't tell the difference!

  • so after 12 months there is now more support? so this $700 phone has a warranty life of 1 year???? after that you are on your own?? geeez!

    • Same thing happens with laptops, and those things are costlier.

  • Is it just me or can you no longer add the HTC DG H200 to the order as it wont ship the Media Link to Australia. Phone ships ok though.
