Harvey Norman have the Samsung WB150F for $73 + $5.95 postage or free pickup instore. It's a 14 megapixel camera with 18x optical zoom. Seems like an ok deal. Use the code WELCOME5 for a $5 discount.

Best option might be price matching at Officeworks.

  • I bought one of these in Dec for $160ish. Good price.

    • has this camera got wifi?

      • +3

Yes although weirdly enough it makes no mention of it on the Harvey Norman page. You'd think they'd wanna highlight that feature.

Seems like a pretty decent camera. Thanks OP.

  • Thank you, just what I was I was looking for for an upcoming holiday - a cheap super zoom camera. The WiFi feature sounds interesting too. They sell these at Officeworks, so I guess you could get it down to $64.60 with price matching (although stock appears a little scarce). Note it also comes with a bonus of 50 6x4 PhotoPrints, whatever that is worth.

  • Thanks OP! Bought one for my mom! :-) Awesome deal with additional 5$ welcome discount!

Since when was this USBargain? ;)

  • Most stores don't have it in stock, except a few like Bondi, Blacktown. However, they are allowing to back order for pickup in store, which saves the postage. Total cost 68$ after discount!

Out of stock almost everywhere. They will sit on your money for 2 weeks then cancel or offer you a way inferior camera at the same price. Their online ordering system is unreliable. They have yet to honour one of my orders over the past week and I wonder if I will ever get any of my orders.

  • Thanks for the information, I just bought one for myself! ;)

  • Just received an email now. We are experiencing a delay with your order. We estimate you item(s) listed below will be ready in approximately 20 (TWENTY) days.

What a joke! So anyone wanting to order this you know know approximately how long you will have to wait.

    • I received a similar email, only they are saying the wait will be 6 days for me. If they go beyond that I think I'll just cancel the order.

      • There may be some hope here I got 10 days for my order

Got a couple from officeworks pricematched to the $68. So makes it $64.60. Can't rely on HN.

    • which officeworks?

      • Officeworks Highpoint Maribynong. I said that HN had it for $73. They were quite happy to pricematch immediately. I showed them a copy of an order I did this morning witht he welcome5 promo code and they were quite happy to do that also.

I remember you - glad I could help. I always here stories of people having a horrible time price matching at Officeworks - I'm always happy to make price matching quick and easy if you've got all the paperwork/websites handy.

        • Thanks for your help. Might be back in for some more. Have friends that are interested. Do you have a few left?

        • i went to OW in highpoint. they had none in stock even though the online system showed in stock. bugger.

    • How did you manage to pricematch with $68? Can u upload a receipt so i can try at my local OW?

      • +3

Hope this comes through. First time uploading a file.

advice, next time black out your credit card details

        • I thought I did. What else should I be blanking out?

        • Thanks, went to OW in Doncaster and they would only match the $73 price, but then they didn't even have any left. Went to Ringwood and showed this receipt and got it at $64.60 after they checked the site.

Sales guy called and said .. out of stock. wtf. how was I able to place an order then? It showed stock online. and ofcourse my credit card has been charged.

    • Is this Gerry's revenge against online shoppers?
Same here… but it took a week and NO call just an email stating I had been refunded. What kind of ecommerce system are they using that isn't linked to inventory?

  • but keep in mind that the controls are manual, not a touch screen and does not has GPS…but i guess still good for the price….depends upon user expectations

    • imo touch screen on a camera is only asking for problems.

    • Eh, having used DSLR, I really appreciate the manual controls. The lack of manual control in your typical compact is a bigger impediment to me than the quality of the camera. Anyway it does have a full auto mode.

  • Are we guys looking at the same reviews? It sure as hell doesnt look so.

The review above gives it a high score however look at the sample images.

This review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXGUJdN1K3Q is in more line of what I think about this camera

My last Samsung camera had a firmware failure. Not going to buy Samsung again !@

This camera has good specs and features, the sample pics show some issues, the movie mode sucks despite the 720p capability, the aesthetics is cheap, the firmware again is oh so dated and sluggish.

BUT for this budget price, its ok !

  • From what I can see there's no HDMI out on this? Is that correct?

What's the pics like in low light conditions?

THis would be replacing a near 2 yr old Olympus sz10
14mp with 18 optical zoom aswell

  • It does not matter how cheap it is if its picture quality is not good thanks anyway.

  • Picture quality isn't award winning (you can't exactly expect it to perform like DSLRs or large sensor compacts) but it's not horrible as long as you have enough light. Still a good deal for the price especially if you value the wifi feature.

  • I wonder what's the low light performance like? Anything like the basic Canons and I'd be happy. That's the quickest way to separate the men from the boys with the cheapies.

BTW. I called Harvey Norman and they reckon this is still "A" stock on their system. That means it's still current so you should be OK back ordering. Well that's what the sales guy said, anyhow.

Pretty cheap for a washing machine

Tried to get a price match at Office works yesterday in Ballarat, said they wouldnt do it for the $68 price. Went and got one from HN instead. Not impressed with Office works attitude about it at all

  • Just picked one up from Officeworks Prahran, happy to price match but very suprised at the price HN were offering it for.

  • does anyone know if this takes batteries or it has li-thion rechargable battery?

  • Got 2 from Office Works Northmead for 64.6$ each. Additional 5% off using ING :-D
They were pretty shocked looking at the price and said we may soon receive an email asking to stop selling this product!

  • I received a call this afternoon saying my order has been cancelled because there is no more stock, and it's a discontinued model so there's nothing more I could do about it. I think it was Gerry Harvey himself.

    Regards,
    Professional HN Shopper

  • My order (made yesterday) is with a courier. Thanks op.

  • I cancelled my order today. instead bought the Nikon d5100. which i think was at a good price.

  • Ha I didn't even get a call and they cancelled the order… email came through saying they were sorry the product wasn't suitable … blah blah

Apparently they oversold by so many 'Johnny' in the warehouse didn't call everyone but just cancelled the orders. So tell me… isn't it against ACCC regulations to sell what you don't have?

  • I got a call from them yesterday, the guy told me there wasn't any stock left so he asked if I'd like the WB200F model instead, I pretty much said might as well; but I can't find any shops/prices for the wb200f??

    • Received a call also, said they were waiting on stock. Did I want to wait 4 weeks or cancel. No mention of upgraded model. Said I will wait. Will hope that I get upgrade offer.

As for pricing, I guess you want to understand if the upgrade is worth it for you, the only reference I could find was from a US site

The Samsung WB200F/WB250F will be available from January 2013 at price of $249.99 in White, Cobalt Black, Red and Gun Metal colors.

As its a new camera I would reckon that the price of $73 for this newer model would be well worth it.

Hence my hope that they do the same for me.

BTW it has wifi capability, so you can transfer to your computer/cloud without cable.

    • Hey Stylez,
Do they expect you to pay the difference with the new model? Also, which Harvey Norman was that? Maybe I can score the same type of deal if the are offering the original price.

    • Wb200f could be Samsung's replacement model for the 150f.. if so I'd be happy with that if offered..which store/state gave you that?

So far I have been offered a WB30f but that only has 10x zoom as opposed to 18x with the WB150f…Waiting for the store to get back to me..

  • Collected mine today. Upgraded to WB250f at QV Melbourne

    • did you pay for the upgrade?

      • No - didn't need to pay any extra
