  • Make a Swiss account Max Payne 3 only 160MSP ~$2

  • +1

LOL..They are great at stuffing up prices!

  • Seems I need to log into XBOX console first before getting MGS 2 AND 3 (compatibility test)?

    • is it worth getting MGS2+3 and Peacewalker? annoyed they separated the pack

      • I paid $44 for the pack on disc recently. $15 for the pack is very cheap.

      • Definitely. Great games.

Weird games, but great. They do have some odd controls that take a bit of getting used to, however.

  • +2

Max Payne 3 is 320 Microsoft Points for those interested. Had a few thousand points on my account and no other payment methods set up so was just easier to buy with points. Cheers for the price pick-up OP

    • that is awesome. i have spare points too - how do i buy using the points, and not with $$?

also, is there any way to purchase by logging into my xbox live account only? I have lent my xbox to a friend.

      • Go to the link provided in the deal, login with your Xbox account, click purchase.

To use Points/CC click 'Change Payment Method'

        • fantastic… thanks guys. Orange Box is only 600 points, so I grabbed that too.

I just realised that my xbox GOLD account has run out, so I am back to Silver.

I will still be able to download the games that I just purchased online, right?

        • +2

          Yes but cannot play online.

      • Yeah, if you go to the Max Payne 3 page, you can purchase it from there. You'll also be given the option to pay using points on the next page.

    • thanks so much just got the game and all these add on packs for $4.95 - winning!

    • Thank you

      • anytime my friend

  • +1

Epic game, just criminal at $4.95

  • +8

Every Xbox owner should buy at least one game during this sale.

It sends a clear message to Microsoft that their "Games on Demand" are overpriced and they can make more money by lowering the cost of games.

  • Sounds great. Assume single player is still worth it, for those of us that won't pay for gold?

Orange Box looks good for $10 too!

    • +2

you realise gold is only 40bucks for 12mths.

      • +1

You could buy me a sweet gift for only 40 bucks if you're in the generous mood

      • -3

Yep, and PS+ is ~$50 with a crap load of free games!

  • +3

    thanks.

MGS 2+3+PW and Max Payne 3 Purchased :)

    • +1

mate, that is my pack too!

  • bargain been wanting MP3 for a while now

  • +2

Thanks. Had 980 points and picked up Fallout 3, Max Payne 3 and Metal Gear Solid for 320 points each. :-) Cheaper then most of the Arcade games I have bought.

  • With all these games I have now purchased, I need to download them! Anyone know the best method for storage considering I still have a 12gb HDD from the original xBox?

  • Far out, I saw these games up last night at like $49.95 each during the sale.

Now they come down? F**k Microsoft, leave my bank account alone :\

  • Thanks OP. Bought it.

  • +1

Wish Far Cry 3 went on sale; got Max Payne 3.. 56% complete, servers don't seem the quickest today (fancy that)

  • Thanks OP. I a deep fan of Battlefield, GOW and COD.
But the reviews and prices are so tempting. Will be buying this and Fallout 3.
Have no time to play already bought Batman Archam City few months back.

  • I can't buy Left for Dead 2 for some reason. Got Fallout and MP3 fine though :\

    • On second thought, just read how badly the Aus version was censored. Ain't buyin that trash

      • Is maybe double check that the online version is even censored…

  • Guys here is a question, i have a chipped 360, i have never played online, " i use pc for online gaming", i assume i need an xbox live account and a hdd? To download it? Correct me if im wrong but would i get banned?

    • Yes. You need an xBox live account. But with chipped ones, you cannot download it without a xbox account. Once you make it, you will get banned for using a chipped one.

You might have already saved dollars in buying games. So you can skip for this sale.

  • Another game to spend my ms points…also downloaded all the free dlcs, lolz…thanks!

  • Wish if GOW 3 was on sale as well.

  • All digital (and physical) xbox 360 content will most likely not be compatible with the new xbox that will be official revealed in April.

Consider this the digital firesale before the cat gets out of the bag.

    http://kotaku.com/5983793/next-generation-most-likely-wont-b…

Also consider the fact that pc's backwards compatibility stretches back decades…..

    • Hard to tell, it goes both ways

      http://www.slashgear.com/xbox-360-games-to-be-forward-compat…

Not to mention a lot of Xbox 360 games would give MS the chance to enable backwards compatible features like they did in the past

      • That article is from 2008.

Unfortunately I seriously doubt that Microsoft will include backwards compatibility this round.

For the original Xbox emulation, they used software emulation, which is very hard to do right and reliably. They only ended up supporting a short number of games, (Many of which did not run all that well) before dropping support altogether.

For the original PS2, it was easy to offer PS1 compatibility because they actually included a PS1 chip inside it. Early revisions of the PS3 also included a PS2 chip. (Which is one of the reasons why it was stupidly expensive at launch).

The PS4 is not going to include a PS3 chip, because it would be hideously expensive. The Xbox will very likely the same. They both won't be able to emulate it on the current hardware very well, because of the different architecture on the new systems. (Not to mention the greater capacities of the 360/PS3 since previous years)

I think the PS4 may include it's backwards compatibility through some sort of streaming service, but it will be garbage without a insane internet speed and not worth using, beyond as a bullet point on the box.

        • Age of the article is pointless for anything posted, until MS say so everything is all in the roumer mill… And like Xbox, the 360 system wont turn off day 1, so these games will still be available for download later down the track if needed

Untill MS officially say so its still on the cards just as much as the article others post.

    • Luckily for us PCs are still using the same x86 architecture; that's why you get backwards compatibility easier.

Playstation 4 recently announced a shift to x86 as well which is why it rules out using PS3 games without emulation; the new Xbox will likely be x86 as well bringing it inline with its Windows counterparts making cross platform development easier.

No console manufacturer likes to say that their console won't be backwards compatible but in order for you to get the best experience for your new hardware sacrifices have to be made.

  • Playing through Max Payne 3 on the PS3 at the moment and I highly recommend it. :)

    • WTF? Why the neg? Someone obviously has issues…

  • +1

Okay so we all know now that Left 4 Dead 2 is censored. So apart from the obvious censorship, does game play change? Like is it as much fun? $10 is a steal so I'm tempted still. I saw a YouTube comparison video and it just looked so bad. Can you play with uncensored? Is the LIVE community even strong? Looks like a great co op game if there's a community.

  • +1

Hey man i got l4d2 on pc uncensored version, i got it by following a guide, its a few steps which involves changing ur ip, search it up, but let me tell u this, the game is so much more fun uncensored trust me i saw my friends censored and it sucks compared to my uncensored version. His version zombies dont blow up they just fall down whwn u kill them and disappear after a few seconds in my when u shoot em the explode with their body pices flying everywhere and they dont disappear when u kill them, plus blood on screen vs no blood, btw funnest MP game i have ever played 1300hrs in 3 years lol

  • +1

Thanks man I saw it on ozgameshop.com for $18 so if I desperately have to play it anytime soon (which I won't since I have sooo many games to play since this sale) I will buy it.

  • I LOVE YOU MICROSOFT!!!

I though I would never ever say it!

  • been attempting to Download Black Opps for the past 2 days and only at 46%. This is promoting how good the On Demand system is, but showing how the servers in our paid for service unlike Sony's unpaid should be fast and reliable and they unfortunately are not :(. Hopefully its just a big server load due to how great some of these prices are but still they should be able to cope.

So I wanted to know, is the Paid for DLC worth it? I mean it would be about 1100 points to buy them all, but I am unsure if they are worth it given I just paid 320 for the entire game…lol

    • Probably not. Everyone is moving onto newer games for their multiplayer needs so I would just leave it.

      • +1

Thanks for the reply, I'll let it be, and if the rumors that the 720 won't be backwards compatible so they are making the most of selling these 360 tittles before that becomes public knowledge is true, well then I'm unsure how much life these games have left in them. Me personally unless there is something amazing about the 720 I'll wait at least a year if not until the first 'revision' till I upgrade, I really don't have many faults with the 360 at all.

As for other DLC advice, How about Batman: Arkham Asylum? There is a GOY Edition, this version is the base game, there are only 2 DLC's that require points, are they worth it? anyone know?

The Batman: Arkham City DLC looks worth it (already own the game) but it's just tooo expensive to purchase for me when I got the GOY Edition for $7.50 during a GMG sale.

  • I am going overseas, anyone know whether this game is downloadable globally via console?

  • this is my first purchase from xbox live

    • me too. confused about how to download.

      • Bill Gates delivers it to your front door

      • noobies, just search for the games on your xbox and download that way. you dont even need an xbox live gold pass

        • Anyone else get "This item can't be downloaded message" whilst trying to download? I got this a while back when getting the free SSX game, but just looked yesterday and it appears to have downloaded at some stage since then. Is it just a random error?

        • +3

Generally clearing your cache fixes the issue.

  • Bought and downloading max payne 3 at the moment

It would cost me $6.50 for 2 days renatl from the video shop
