    • They are no longer replenishing any Yamaha stock, so you'll unfortunately never see that again.

      • Do you know why they break up? Cannot find any news about this.

        • Reasons unknown. It's not the sort of thing retailers advertise.

        • I bought the Aventage lion of Yamaha receivers. Unfortunately JB never sold them I had to go specialist. I think that might be part of it. Yamaha is an expensive brand compared to others and people prepared to spend are inclined to go further up market.

wouldn't it be nice if they would put sonos on sale one day….

    • Hey Dr. Rusko… have you had a look at buying direct from the US via eBay? That's how I've bought my last several ZonePlayers and a couple of Play3s too! The shipping may be close to $200 on some items BUT the total still comes in less than the rip-off RRPs we pay here plus it includes all duty fees and it's usually express courier too so all my stuff has arrived within the week! Best way to buy SONOS IMO.

  • Hey there SteveAnd Belle, would you recommend a good source o/s for the Sonos gear then…

    Thanks in anticiaption

    • Hi Oraserat.

The last purchase I made was about 12-18 months ago and I've archived my messages however looking through the US sellers I'm pretty sure I got my last items from FlipJays2: http://stores.ebay.com.au/flipjays2/_i.html?_nkw=sonos&_sid=… Their stuff is about 20% less than our RRPs and that includes international express courier fees etc.!!

You may read about the US hardware not working here in Oz but that's absolute BS because I have both US and AU SONOS components and it all works perfectly together. Always has and I assume it always will! The Aussie distributor has a lot to answer for these days and even more to answer for back when I got my first SONOS gear in early 2007 when it cost me TWICE as much buying locally than it did buying it direct from OS. I was a sucker but soon learnt to see the light and send my SONOS cash offshore :)

      • my only fear is warranty issues…..they make it very clear that products bought from usa are not covered in australia, an that products from usa used out of usa are not covered in usa

the rest i am happy to believe you on.. i had a hunch that usa/australia stuff was rubbish.

a small risk - but still a risk
        what are your thoughts?

        • Sorry, only just saw this reply.

Yeah, absolutely correct. No warranty in Australia for OS purchased SONOS gear however I stupidly didn't change the voltage switch on one of my old ZonePlayers a few years back when I took it out of its box and blew it up. I remembered to do all the others but just not that one for some reason but that doesn't matter these days as they're all multi-voltage now.

Anyhoo, I contacted the place that sold it to me and told them to situation. They gave me an address to send it to so I spent the cash and sent it off. Risky but it was sent back a few weeks later all fixed up and for no charge so I was only out of pocket the amount it cost me to send it back to them which meant I was still WAY in front compared to buying one locally here in Oz :)

So you're right, they will not honour the warranty here BUT the US resellers do and even with the price gap tightening it's STILL not worth paying the premium to buy it locally… unless of course you need one in a hurry.

          Enjoy.

First time i've seen Dali excluded, which is a shame as I wanted to pick up another pair of concept 2s for a fron surround channel :/

    • Do we take it as 40% off all speakers excluding Dali?

The site isn't showing regular price vs sale price figures.

  • Thanks kindly SteveAnd Belle for the reply……will investigate

    • Looks like it… Quite a bargain compared to LTS.
Pity it cannot do modern surround sound formats.

  • Great deal! Went down to my local and picked up these http://www.jbhifi.com.au/jb-hi-fi-home-audio/speakers/wharfe…

Ticket price was about 190 I believe. Great speakers so far using em as my 2 rears for my surround.

  • Are any of there receivers on special? Online doesn't seem to be showing any discounts?

    • Yamaha's aren't on special - heads up…
