  • These haven't really budged much have they? Not having a go at the OP just sayin'.
I guess we were spoilt by an awesome opening price when they first arrived, people expected them to cost a lot more.

I got one from Binglee last November for my step-daughter, about $235 if memory serves.

    • when google announced the nexus 7, didnt they say it was going to cost $200? i have yet to see a brand new one for less than $200

      • +1

That was for the USA, in Australia it's $50 more.

  • The price is far than great for the 16gb, but it's the best you could get. $169 for the refurbished one was very tempting

  • yeah the $ 169 ones were a great buy….considering jbhifi online store has acer tablet (8gb and 512mb ram) for $184

    • -3

$15 more will get you the new Asus Memo.

You're kidding right? Asus single core, old technology.. 1GB RAM.. cant even compare to a Nexus 7..

        • That would explain why the Acer tablet seemed more responsive despite half the RAM of the Memo. But then again this was demo units at JB HiFi (Elizabeth St, Melbourne)
But neither compare to the Nexus 7 in terms of day to day performance, usability and timely updates

  • Is this deal in store as well?

    • its free shipping or free to pick up in store. unless you want to pay cash, why not buy it online?

  • clearing stock for tegra 4 nexus 7's?

    • I hope so I am in the market for a new tablet but not in a super hurry!!

  • +1

yeah revo it should be…..tell the rep its online for $226 and they will give you one for same

    • Cheers!

  • Sigh, excited my Nexus 7 32GB (from Dick Smith) came today, turned it on, and I notice 2 dead pixels, one smack bang in the middle like a dark black, smoky colour.

So I guess all the talk was true, lol, had to happen to me.

    Returning it tomorrow.

  • 7" is too small for me.

Any recommendation for tablet or hybrid (laptop and tablet) of 10" size?

      Nexus 10

      That's what she said

      • +1

        thats what your dad said

    • I have a Galaxy Note for a phone so a Nexus 7 would have been a bit of a redundant purchase for me. I bought a Nexus 10 and absolutely love it to bits.

  • "Same, same but different" topic…I went to JB Hifi on weekend and asked them to price match the Bing Leee Nexus 7 32GB 3G model for $309 and they did it…I was that impressed by the Nexus 7 that I then bought another one for my dad yesterday - this time via Officeworks with an extra 5% off (price match guarantee + 5%)…the total (including delivery) being $293.55…

I know the 32GB with 3G is $67-ish more expensive than the 16GB, but for the price difference..the extra 16GB plus 3G sounds like a bargain!

Also, I was in the market for a Nexus 10..but couldn't convince myself to spend $569-ish…for that kind of money, I may as well buy a new laptop…so although not comparing apples with apples, the value for money proposition leans me towards a laptop. Value for money proposition is my main goal as an OzBargainer!

Anyway, I got a Nexus 7 now and very happy with it…Despite being concerned that it was a bit small, it's turned out great…

  • I went without 3G as I use hotspot instead…for 1.5gb data a month so pointless…with vaya for $17 a month you get 2gb data and $700 of calls and unlimited sms…so your call

  • My god, can anyone here with a Nexus 7 tell me if they have any dead pixels?

I am up to my second replacement and it has one.

Third time lucky!!!!!!! Frustrating as hell.

    • mine was the first batch. didnt have any dead pixels but had ghosting/burning issue. google is taking forever to send me my replacement. i hope google doesnt use asus to make their new nexus 7

      • Likewise, I have never in my life had a second replacement with the same issue.

So many people up to their 3rd - 4th device.

It's a lovely device, but ASUS have dropped the ball hard with this one.

Terrible product control. Ghosting and burn in issue is a joke for LCD. I have heard about this too.

        • my new nexus 7 has 2 dead pixels side-by-side. indecisive to whether to rma it or not

Alternatively, just pricematch this at officeworks and get another 5% off. Or get the 32gb for $20 more via OW with this:

JB price matched this and threw in a free sim city game.

    • Thanks for this heads up :)

In addition to SimCity, you'll get another free game from EA too for the disastrous launch that they had.
