  • Don't get it. Been there before. Looks nothing like the photo. They are basically a cafe and ol,y make this to lure ppl in. Not worth the $39 IMO.

    • Hmm, If thats the case then ill print out the page and take it with me when ordering the meal. Ill ask to see the manager when ordering to make sure i dont have to make a scene if the meal comes out anything other than whats on the photo as advertised.
Its a pity that no one will read my review here in a week or two as it will be buried gown pages of other old deals..

  • No lobster, not worth over $100 in normal price. They think we are stupid.

Surely ALL of these dodgy deal sites should be banned from OzBargain? They're often dodgy, they often come with strings attached, often don't fulfill the offer and, in cases like this… simply not very good value at all.

    • +2

No they are not "often" dodgy. I eat out twice a week using offers and sure I have the odd bad experience but generally most have been great and some have been excellent where I now go even without a voucher.

I use vouchers for everything and save a lot of money which allows me to have some excellent experiences I otherwise would never have had (due to costs), such as doing acrobatics in a mothball over surfers paradise.

At the end of the day, even if it is dodgy (smaller portions), you are having a restaurant meal for 2 for $40, you have to be kiding if you think that isnt a deal, dodgy or not.

      • I have to agree here, we went out to To Sushi Train in Bondi two weekends ago and the bill came to $50 with two green teas included in total meal bill.
There is another Sushi place just around the corner from where we were but it was a sit down one, I'd hate to think what outer bill would have come to if we ate at that one..

  • What a load of *rap. Read the reviews.

    • Where can i find them?
      Dont worry, found them..

All i can say is Print the picture and take it with you when you go there, that way they have no excuse to serve you anything lessor than whats on the discount offer advertised.

All I reccomend in a situation like this: don't bother printing the picture, go there, get involved in a big discussion and get the evening ruined. Wait till Peters'Doyle at the quai has another promotional offer and get that one. Been there twice now, and got excellent service and wonderful food (even with a voucher)

I've been there with a similar deal from Scoopon. DON'T BUY! DON'T GO !!!

Place is tragically crowded. Food served was not as described and was horrible. Your money will be better spent in a foodcourt. The "platter" is definitely NOT worth $104, NOT even $39!

Look at the picture, can't you simply buy these from a foodcourt with choice and paying less?

Firstly, your comparing a food court meal to a restaurant meal.
Secondly you say the platter isn't worth the cost, did you get a bottle of wine with your meal?
Yes, of course it's cheaper to go to Coles or woollies and make it at home yourself but this isn't about home made meals.
I'll give you one thing tho, at lease your making comments based on your personal experience and not just what you've read on the net. So thanks for that.

I'll give you an example, I posted a deal for fitness first and got nothing but bad comments about how hard it was to cancel memberships etc, so I went and canceled mine with not one single issue.

Anyways, I'm glad you've added your opinion and advice here. I will go and buy this deal but I will also print the deal page showing the picture advertising a big platter, a bottle of wine and two empty plates with the words Seafood platter for two. Nothing will be spoiled like cameldownunder stated in his comment above.
Nothing gets solved or resolved by arguing or bad attitude at places you shop or eat. It's amazing how far politeness goes when your dealing with people that have to work crappy jobs..
