Dune 4WD Stockton Single Swag -Anaconda Online $49.98 Plus Shipping ($8.59 to SA) -75% off

650

Great little swag, well made and heavy duty with matress.

Been aiming to get 1 for a while.
Just bought 2 online and combined shipping to SA was $8.59. so I got 2 for under $110.
I must be just about the only one in Australia that didn't get free shipping.

I think I have seen it this price online catalog before over xmas but was only instore and when I went to get it instore staff refused to honour this price before saying it was never less than $125. Miraculously it was about $145 when I checked with the staff member so I accepted I was mistaken.

This is 75% off not 25% off storewide sale!

It's finished on the website so try instore

  • Dune swags are in their current Easter catalogue. To clear things up it is "save $150 on any dune swag"

    • LOL
Should have hit refresh this post beat mine by 10 sec!
Yep though interestingly they don't list this swag at $50 which I would have thought warranted it's own catalog listing if they were at all keen to sell this one at this price.
Perhaps the value is just too good for them.
      hehe :-)

  • Its not a typo
Tucked away in back of easter catalog is save $150 off any (Dune?) swag!
Deal Starts 13 Mar - Ends 28 Mar only get in fast as this items stock level is showing almost all gone on the online indicator

It's showing as free shipping for me in Perth.. even better! Cheers OP, been wanting a swag for ages just when I need to camp out in a mate's backyard, only got a big 6 man tent which is good when camping but not good anywhere else :P

    • +1

I am stoked with this deal.

Exactly same here, 6 Person tent is good if you are staying there for a few days otherwise I just want to chuck something on the ground but keep the mozzies out….

This is such a good deal I felt bad buying just 2 only with limited stock it would be very Brodenesque if I got 5!

    • Yep seems like free shipping to Perth. Great deal! Thanks OP.

      • not for me. How did you get it?

  • Hope they ship in time for Easter…
Anyone know what anaconda shipping is like?

Just called up the hotline. As I live in a metropolitan area, it should get to me in the next 5 business days. They allow 7-10 days on their website, but the sales lady assured me that was to "cover their bases" with non-Metropolitan customers.
      We'll see how we go.

      • Yeah.
I should be camping by Easter.
        :-)

    • +3

      Yes
I see that to camping diehards this might not be the longest lasting only for $50 I am sure I will have a good nights sleep for many years to come.
The thought of arriving at dusk and finding a large level site without rocks and then mucking around setting up the huge 6 man tent I am replacing puts me off camping so these will be great.
For $50 how can I go wrong?

Just posting information that might be relevant to some interested buyers.

        • It's ok too, I +'ed your info and your comment too.
Its interesting that there are comments below saying this it too heavy.
I saw one in store at xmas and it looked awesome…

    • That thing is heavy! 4.5 kg.

It is more expensive but this Kelty 2 man is half the weight:

      http://www.amazon.com/Kelty-Grand-Mesa-Backpacking-Person/dp…

If you are hiking this makes a huge difference. It's also nice and spacious for one person.

Actually I have a 4 man snow tent that is lighter than this swag. It was bought second hand but works really well.

      • I agree with you, way to heavy for a swag. Unless you just car camp all the time.

      • Swags (like this one) come with the mattress built-in. The idea is you roll the whole thing up - mattress and all - and when you get to the campsite, you unroll it, peg the four corners, pop up the pole at the front and you're done. There's no sliding poles through flies, no getting the inner soaked because you can't set up the fly first etc.

Just grabbed one in store - 4.1kg
Weight also includes the high density mattress.

  • Thanks for me - Just got free delivery to Hurlstone Park in Sydney!

Could anyone recommend a good quality sleeping bag to go with these?

  • Great deal thanks! says there will be a $8.00 delivery charge when I added to my cart and calculated shipping, then the shipping charge was removed at final checkout. great!

  • Done - got free shipping in Sydney as well.

  • I'm getting $17.89 shipping to the mid north coast of NSW. Bloody screwy postage calculator. Change it to the next town 10k down the road and it's $10.38.

Thanks, this is the last thing I need, but I've ordered one :)

    • Awesome ozbargainer spirit so I gave you a vote!

  • Got 2. Free delivery to Brisbane. Awesome!

This is a much better swag for those using it in warmer climates. the surrounding mesh allows body heat to escape. The Stockton swag will be awesome in cooler climates but once it gets hot you have to face it in the direction of the wind to cool down and if there is no wind you cook. I know because i have one similar to it and the only way to sleep a full night is to have many cool beverages before bed. Also if you get up a lot during the night the Boundary would be much easier getting in and out off. Easy worth the extra $50 for me.

edit. it also looks like this swag has a pvc bottom which is better for those that camp in the wet.

    not working any more

    Yeah same,

clicking on the swag takes you to the home page.

Brought one earlier. Free postage to Hobart. Its a known brand, so should be good quality but maybe not to best for sleeping in snow with. Either way, good throw away swag for $50 or as a back up easy.
    Props to sirplus

    • Exactly
I am absolutely over the Moon with this deal.

      • or under it…as the case will be

        • You bet… :-)

    Not working anymore

    • Yeah was expecting that, stock level indicator thingy on their site was showing three-quarters sold out when I placed my order. No matter I hold my head high knowing I didn't broden this deal :-)

      PS
I don't know why some would neg your comments so I +'d back to zero…

  • I picked up the Dune Boundary Swag for $99.98 down from $249.98 - I think P&H came to about $14 and it included insurance with a company called Temando (never heard of them). Seems like bloody good value though either way.

    Showing no stock now.

The snazzier $99 (still cheap) version I posted earlier still has stock: http://www.anaconda.com.au/Product/Camp-and-Hike/Shelter/Swa…

Still a big saving off the regular price and seems free shipping also.

    • It looks nice and I'll wait till I get mine before I tell you if I would have paid twice as much for yours or 14 times as much for the double.

I guess there's no chance of squeezing two people into one of the singles is there? :-)

      • +1

        depends how sexy you are

        • Very Darn…. ;-P

  • Just went on the website at 6:00 and unfortunately they are all sold out. Got to get in quick.

    • Don't forget to go straight into your local anaconda if you have one!

  • As at 2:00pm today, anaconda at mile end (sa) had 2 left (after I bought mine).

  • Only 2 $50 "Stocktons" left at Springwood (QLD) a few hours ago. Also picked up a "Tracker" for $140 and still 5 to 10+ of the other styles available.
Mother in-law arrives in a few weeks - sorted ;-)

Got it - and very disappointed. But do I have the same swag?

It came with 2 guy ropes, but needs at least 3 to erect - the foot is not self supporting.
Came with 4 pegs for the swag corners, but no pegs for the ropes.
Floor is same material as the top, and the "mattress" is a joke - loose not built in, very thin and soft.

Total weight (inc heavy steel pole and 4 pegs) is 3.38kg - Maybe a 700g difference between my mattress and the proper one?

The assembly instructions make no sense - ah, are for the "boundary" model.

Would be more comfortable, drier, and easier to use a $19 Big-W tent, with a few flattened cardboard boxes as a mattress.

  • Totally agree. I am annoyed with the first three words of the OP, "Great little swag". This is anything but great. The picture is so deceiving as it shows how the swag would look if there were no gravity on earth. Unfortunately we have gravity and therefore the swag will not stay up by itself. I am going to ask for a refund and use the money to buy a swag with supporting poles and a thicker mattress.
