Supreme 7w LED Downlight Bulb Warm White $10.50 with $9.00 Flat Post

100

We have a special on our mr16 ($10.50) and GU10 ($12.00)Supreme led's made in taiwan. Having the diffuser, we ensure your light gets distributed evenly across the room, just like a halogen would. I am not going to crap you and say its a 50w replacement, but I will tell you it is more like a 45w replacement which makes it a worthwhile investment without compromising too much on the light output. We have tested these on a lot of electronic transformers but we cannot guarantee it will work on all (if you have an actec or possum dont bother buying :). It works well on your old iron core transformers and if you need a transformer, check out our efficient 60w Anchorn transformer. These work well on all our LED range and consume 0.3w sitting on idle.

Our lights have our own C-Tick number for your added comfort so stay away from those cheap imports

  • I recently bought Epistar MR16's from ebay for <$5 delivered. But admittedly it is hard to get LED downlights from eBay with a >45 degree angle and/or with a diffuser, and this is well worth it is you want the light to be spread out. For Australian stock I suppose the price is not bad, so +1 from me.

care to share the ebay link ?

      • Hmm… that might be hijacking of this post, and a bit unfair to the REP who is trying to post a good deal on Ozbargain (I would have bought from them if I could have picked up at the time). It's not too hard to find the ones I ended up buying on eBay. I bought the 9W MR16 ones.

Yep, super high postage lets it down, good if u can pick up tho

    • Yes, the postage is a killer for me too

  • just pickup the ALDI ones from $9 this Wednesday
    http://aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_26019.htm

    • not 60 degree spread

    • they only 5w led

With LED's, you need to compare the light output (lumen). They can very hugely between brands. It's really all about lumen per watt. IKEA also sells LED lights, but their lumen/watt is worse than that of a normal saving light, making them useless and expensive. Most proper saving lights (fluorescent ones) actually show the lumen/watt, making it easy to compare how much you would save with LED's (apart from savings due to longer lifetime).

REP can you do a deal on bayonet or screw style bulbs please

  • I can recommend these ones…
I have 40 of them in my place.
They have paid themselves off already,
and I had to pay $12.50 each for mine. :(

First wife approved LED I ever managed to find.

First wife approved LED I ever managed to find.

initially read this and thought - "did the second wife disapprove of them?"

    • I put these throughout my bedrooms 7 months ago. 45w is an accurate description and I am very happy with the light distribution per unit. Guests tell me they can't tell the difference between a halagon and the LEDs. I rang the store too and they were very helpful. Delivery was next day to the Gold Coast from memory. Now for the rest of the house!

    • my first wife never approved anything I enlightened her about

  • bought a 12W 120 degrees here:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-PCX-bridgelux-GU10-GU5-3-E27-MR16…

man they are just as bright or brighter than the halogen,
APPROX. 800 LM so as bright as the halogens (or more) with the 120 degree beam they are a awesome replacement. I got them on special for about 10.40 each…(landed)

Got a refund for 2 though as they blew within 5 minutes. would buy again though as they are awesome.

You get +1 for your honesty good information, being an australian ctick dealer…not a bad local price.

    • judging that sellers feedback, they seem to be less than adequate, but as long as your happy

      • seems ok.. 99.1% went though there feedback which looked as good as any other seller

  • Hi Rep,
Have you got any figures on real world operating life?

    • I wonder how successful a warranty claim on a light bulb would be after ~6 years (50,000 hour life span = nearly 6 years)

    • HI

i have been testing this light in my house since 11/2011 and i do random checks on lumen output with my meter. I think i have dropped 1 lumen since then so I am pleased with that. I was hoping people who bought off me in my previous ads would be able to provide some feedback. I guess i am biased in my opinion :)

Failure rate would be less than 1%

      • I have been using four MR16's for about a year and they are still going strong on 12VDC iron transformers. I don't have any proper testing equipment but in warm white they come close (about 75-90%) to my previous 50W halogens. They consume slightly below 7W and can be dimmed a little. I am very happy with them. They are definitely better than a couple of other low-cost LEDs I had tried from ebay but that was a few years ago so I assume others would have advanced as well.

      • I bought about 30 of these a year ago, thy are great I have had 1 die in the past year (started intermittently blinking on and off), overall the best I have found for the price (I've tried many from dx, some ok - most are crap and have found their way into garden lights).

  • Brought some see how they go

  • "Our lights have our own C-Tick number for your added comfort so stay away from those cheap imports"

    I laughed :D

    • I think that mean they have gotten a C-tick number specifically for their stuff…? (which is good?)…

      • C-ticked items doesn't necessarily mean it's safer or superior to the LEDs sold on ebay (mostly same manufacturers).
C-tick uses a self regulated system where the importer simply signs a form claiming their products are compliant with Australian EMC requirements.
Has nothing to do with safety of the electrical item being imported.
But the positive is of course, if something goes wrong you can always trace the C-tick supplier, which is the primary purpose of what C-tick serves.

  • i think you guys are right $9 postage seems a bit high, especially for a $10 globe, doubles the price

    • just buy 9 only adds a dollar per globe then!

    • +1

i understand but we have no other option. Unfortunately postage is expensive

      • I understand that, as anything else in Australia, the postage should also be expensive.
Still I am wondering how can those foreign ebay sellers ship those items to my door (the same address) for free after charging peanuts for the items as well. It's not your problem REP, I am not blaming you at all. No one in here has found an answer for that yet. :)

        • anything in china is cheap but these lights come from taiwan and things do cost more in taiwan
but i understand what your saying

  • Rep, do you have a GU-10 model that can be installed in an enclosed fixture?

    • wondering about the same, and any special deal on the COB light?

      • email me

    • i had a few customer do this and the things get extremely hot. If you can email me a picture of your enclosure.

      • Sorry if I missed it, but what is your email?

        • its info at mywebaddress

  • I'm always confused about these white spec: warm white, cool white and true white ? I got some LED at home (but can't remember what white) and the light is yellowish. I would like to change them to more a more halogen or fluro white color. Could you tell me which one I should get ?

    • warm white = yellowish (2700k)
true white = in between a cool and warm (4000K)
cool white = daylight white (6000K) like you would find in offices or hospitals

      • cool white… so sterile…

  • I bought a cpl of led downlights from master a cpl of months backs for 8.50 each. Think they were phillips 7w

    • Were they good? How was the beam angle?
I want to find ones with bigger angle or with diffuser. Mine are in enclosures so this wouldn't suit me.

  • Hi Rep. Save me the trouble - I think I've visited your site once before. Any high CRI (90+) mr16/ gu10 to be seen, or plans to stock?

  • if you want to pay 35+ per globe, i can source some, but they have no diffuser on them so you will see a angle shading running along the wall.

  • no B22 light bulb special? what is tghe dimension? couldn't find it online.

  • Hi Rep, Are these good good to replace existing MR16 halogen down lights. I am not sure if they are fully enclosed ones. How do I find that?
Most of the bulbs are in downstairs ceiling so I have no way to get on the ceiling to see the complete holder which is not visible from below the ceiling. Only couple of downlights are there in upstrairs. I should be able to crawl into the ceiling and have a look.
The house is just 2 yrs so I expect the builder to have used proper enclosed holders to prevent heat getting into the insulation, etc.

  • Which one suites better for a new home? Warm White or True White?? (Cool white NO for sure)

  • Just ordered 18 of them to replace my down lights in the living area. Hope they get delivered quickly.
