The Acer Aspire is much cheaper from TopBuy and MSY. See Scotty's post

    and OLC as well
    Aspire E1-531-B9602G50Mnks

    $299 after $100 cashback

    • are they $100 cashback not $49 because they come with Win7 not Win8?

  • Is the Pentax Camera any good?

    • Seems a good travel camera, if you drop it get another one…
takes AA batteries. Nowhere near the top for IQ look elsewhere.

would get a Canon 1100D for $33o though from Harvey Norman, much better quality

      • Different cams for different uses.

You'll probably be cursing when the Canon you suggested can't get closer than 3x or 4x with its kit lens while this Pentax does 26x (22.3-580mm in 35mm terms). That's an excellent wide and excellent tele.

Or when you can get as close as 1cm to your subject for macro and with the DSLR you can't with the kit lens.
Or when you want to add spare AA rechargeable batteries for cheaper than proprietary batteries.
Or when you want to travel lighter with less hassles than a DSLR.

$218 is a very good deal for the Pentax.
Bundled case and small memory card can't hurt either.

not sure about the camera and acer aspire, but +1 for the Telstra sim ;)

  • When does this start, 25th? The Auspost website shows a different catalogue, ends 24 March.

  • So can anyone confirm this sale is on? I note that the scanned JPG doesn't show any dates.

AusPost website (http://catalogue.auspost.com.au/home.html) still shows old catalogue that ended yesterday.

  • Picked up two Telstra packs today to give it a go with my "iPad" ;)

    Thanks OP.
