Sony Bravia 46" Full HD 3D LED TV (46HX850) $1118.95 Delivered -Grays Online. (Refurbished)

23

Hey guys,

Grays online have an awesome sale on Sony bravia led TVs.
46hx750 = $889
46hx850 = $1069 (best jb could do was $1400).
55hx850 = $1299 (best jb could do was $1750).

I just got back from jb hi fi and the 46hx850 looks absolutely amazing! It has the deepest blacks and also seems to upscale standard definition extremely well.

Read reviews for yourself but just remember that the 750models have a matte finish over the screen whereas the 850 models have corning gorilla glass (which is slightly more glaring but in my opinion looks great).

I bought the 46hx850. Shipping was about $50.
One more thing, I'm not sure if the TVs are refurbished. Other tvs on the website specifically state they are, but these TVs don't.

Sorry if this is lacking information. Its my first post. Gotta say that I love oz bargain and you guys have saved me so much money! :)

    46hx850 = $1069 + $49.95 Delivery + Refurbished

  • Thanks man. I think the saving is still worth it. Anyone ever had any troubles with refurbished?

      Yeah, the previous owner did.
      Sorry for the sarcasm, but refurnished is sometimes used as a euphemism for "secondhand with a prior history of failure". For some devices I can live with it, e.g. Apple where you buy straight from the manufacturer, the outer case and battery are replaced with new, and the device is not expected to have a life of more than a few years. But for the most part I wouldn't touch it.

    • I did buy refurb product from Gray. No problems at all. But then again they were headsets worth no more than $25 .. But your talking abt a $1100+ item with a marginal saving of $280 vs new. Considering that most people would expect a life span of 5 yrs for a 3D LED its a far greater risk.

      Secondly, for a few products Grays sometimes calculates savings based on the ORP of the product i.e. the Original Retail Price of the product. In other words if the product was Originally retailed for $2500, 2 yrs ago it is said ORP $2500

      But since you have already purchased it i hope it works out for you.

  • How come their warrantee is only 3 mth?????? i thought refurbished still has 12 months. Would I be able to get greysonline to comply to the legal (12 month?) warrantee on new goods.

    • I'm not sure what legal 12 month warranty you are referring to?

      Of course you have statutory rights if that's what you are referring to.

      EDIT: Which are now known as Consumer Guarntees.

        Actually something to note, those rights are severely diminished on second hand products like this.

        • Yeah I know it's all very vague, there are so many things to take into consideration.

    46HX850 - Grays Refurbished = $1119 3 Months Warranty Delivered V/S JB Hifi Brand new $1400 12 Months Warranty
    I rather buy brand new. Saves you the hassle of dealing with Grays for warranty claims. Warranty for refurbished goods often have a fine print and its better you read it.

    id rather buy from fishpond than touch any item from Grays that is refurbished

  • OP
    Please cancel your order as soon as possible . Not worth it.
    You can give them the reason that you bought it because you thought that TV was a brand new.
    Please visit Ozbargain website and asked for friendly suggestions before you buy anything in the future. I am deeply sorry for you.
    Have a nice day

  • Not a deal, it's a refurb. Add the fact it's a Sony TV that will most likely fail (again) and you'll need to deal with Grays or Sony for any consumer rights you may have, it's $1,000+ down the drain.

    As theearth says, I hope you can cancel it. Research your brands and retailers a little better next time,you've picked the worst on both counts.

  • 23% saving on a second hand product that's ridicules. Please remember all Manufacture don't fix/check for minor problem after customer return it, then they just polish it and selling it as refurbished. Good luck on your purchase I wouldn't touch it at all.

    BTW, if you are going to use the TV in a dark, really dark room then glass screen is the best, otherwise do your eyes a favour: avoid it all the time.

  • A refurbished model should be half the current street price for a new model. No deal here.

  • I have tried to cancel. No reply so far. God this sucks, any advice

    • haha

      Do better research next time
      Don't buy from Grays Online
      Don't buy refurb TVs

      • Nice haha welcome to a first time poster. Hope you have as much luck next time you buy something….

    • maybe you could cancel your credit card? report it as stolen and that some crazy person used it to buy a refurb tv from grays!
