Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 for $9 (VIC/QLD/WA Only, after $40 Cashback)

670

I just bought this today!
Officeworks is selling “Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000” (RRP $149.95) for $49. That's before $40 cash back! You are only paying $9!!!!!

During this period, Microsoft offers 25% cash back on the RRP til the end of Jan 2009, which is $40 (takes about 60 days to get that). That means you pay $49, and after cash back, you paid $9.

It is a great mouse as it can switch between Bluetooth or 2.4Ghz wireless. The receiver can be used as a 1Gb thumb drive as well. (The driver reports as USB hub with thumb drive + wireless mouse attached).

The battery is come with the mouse and its rechargable! Best ever deal!

  • oh, nope, VIC/QLD/WA only :(

    • A huge thankyou for letting us all know about this one…

Nice change from free perfume samples on this site (which the Mrs just loves and she wants to know when they're coming back!)

All WA metro stores have now sold out (got 2 - 1 each for me and the Mrs!).

I see they're selling them on Ebay as well…not cheap in my opinion..

Let's hope Microsoft is not as tardy with their cashback payment as another well known multinational IT hardware company who sHould Probably remain anonymous. (or not, if you read between the lines!)\

      keep em coming plz

      • Reminds me of a funny that was going around last year, after HP bought out EDS (the US company that invented IT out-sourcing in the 60's).
Now, EDS had just announced their new company logo / script: "EDS, an HP company".
Within 24hrs some clever-dick had come up with a cartoon cell depicting a large bottle of HP sauce above the caption: "EDS, an HP out-sauced company".
        [ :- { )

      • Funny you should (not) mention that other well known IT company. I recently got a cash back myself and it took several months and many phone calls, I got it in the end but they have very poor customer service. Although my printer did work out very cheap in the end!

      • Have purchased 3 MS products from this promotion and received cashback on all of them.

I claimed on the 11th December and received email/cash in my account on the 8th January.

    • I bought 2 in Launceston TAS yesterday for $49 (shelf price), so it wasnt just VIC/ QLD/ WA

  • why why why not for NSW …..

  • No stock when trying to order.

  • You'd better be quick, because the MS 25% h'ware rebate ends in 2 days!
    http://www.microsoft.com.au/hardware/offers/
"Between 1st November 2008 and 31st January 2009 simply purchase one or more selected genuine Microsoft® Hardware products from an authorised reseller in Australia and you can redeem a Cash Back to the value of 25% off the recommended retail price (including GST)."

I think I'll be making a trip to my local OW tomorrow for one of these tasty morsels…

    Live Long and Prosper.
    [ :- { )

  • omg nice deal, definitely a +ive
msy has these for like…66 bucks.
    OW > MSY =D

  • If I purchase tomorrow, can I send in the cashback claim in February? I'm worried that Microsoft might say "sorry - we received your claim after 31st Jan".

    • no i don't think that will; be a problem as it says as long as its purchased between the time =D

i think there was something about receiving the cash back by february something though
      but probably mid-end of february.

I JUST NOTICED GUYS, IT SAYS only available online ON THE OW PAGE FOR THE MOUSE…
DID THE GUY WHO POSTED THIS BUY ONLINE OR AT STORES? =(

    • Not a problem, just have to purchase before end of Jan, you get until end of Feb to send the form in. A bit moot anyway because OW say it's out of stock and no backorders.

  • are you sure it isnt 25% cash back off the $49?

    • Incorrect!
      It is 25% off RRP.
See the table in the MS link in my earlier comment. Every product has a set rebate $ value, determined by its RRP.
      [ :- { )

    • Check on the OW's website.

  • How long do you need to wait for the cashback? I bought a wireless keyboard two weeks ago and have not receive the cashback.

    • patience son, 60 days

    • errr..iuts been mentioned quite at least once on this post and a few times on the microsoft cash back website….
      its 60 days
      not 14

    • I sent in a claim end of Nov, cash back deposited early Jan, so around 6 weeks. Similar time frame for others I know.

      • Thanks browser. The problem is they did not send any confirmation whether they have receive the receipt or not.

  • Works with both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth; rechargeable battery; 1GB of flash memory on the receiver. This is perfect for the price.

  • "only available online" + "Avail. = 0" = :(

  • Dam only online, do you think it would be possible to do in store??

  • +2

Nice price…was going to get one until I realized the size because it's a laptop mouse. These kind of mice are horrible for my big hands!

    • Oh bugger me too.Normal ones are too small as well.

  • anyone knows if OW in WA still has any in stock and if it's possible to get it in-store?

    • or… can you order on-line, then pick up your order from a store with stock?

  • well since OW opens at 7 everyday till 7th Feb, im gonna be calling my nearest 2 OW stores before going to school and confirming whether they have it and whether it is at that $49 price =D

  • looks like there's none left, but great deal for those who managed to order it!

  • Damn :(
    Great find though

  • so you need to pay the delivery fee with 5.45 dollars?

    • Yes. Still a bargain though.

  • called OW store just then, 82 bucks =(

  • +1

I called up they said it was 82 bucks but i asked the guy to recheck the price and scan it and check the system and he said it's 49 in store, good luck guys.

    • which state were you calling in?

      • vic but it should work with all the other 1s

        • thanks!

  • +1

I got the last one on the shelves in Subiaco, WA.

The price was correct in the store.

  • Thanks Stix for mentioning the size, I've been looking for a cheap mouse but I need a big one that will fit my hand comfortable, it's so hard to find one online. Most don't say the size.

But I'm curious, can you price match at the store with the online price?

  • Here are the full spec's for this mouse http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDe…
At 85mm, it's 15mm smaller than my Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 http://www.microsoft.com/australia/hardware/mouseandkeyboard…, so it's quite small.

  • Anyone interested for NEW Unopen box microsoft wireless keyboard mouse bundle laser desktop 7000 for $95(still cheaper even after rebate - OW selling $180-200) excluding shipping, please let me know your email and I'll send you my details. I hope is ok to tell you this.
    Good finding though.

    • Why are you selling it? And would you include the receipt for the cashback?

By the way, MSY sell them for $99 so you might have to drop the price a bit.

      • I thought it is natural keyboard from MSY and it is cheaper than the laser desktop and no receipt since it is a christmas present. but will sell for $90 exld shipping but of course if your place close to MSY get from them. Otherwise keep it till the cash back offer expired :)

        • No worries. You can get it shipped from MSY for $99 (excl shipping) with $45 cashback = $54 excl shipping. Maybe you could sell it for $50 for 2 days until the cashback expires. :D Anyway, hope you sell it. Cheers

          • @ShortyX: msy is not available for cash back
been said a few times in previous posts where people said msy is available

            • @che0173: Call MS Australia, 132058. You'll find that MSY is eligible for cashback. I rang MS Australia again just then, they have confirmed to me that any product sold by a company with a proper ABN number with an accompanying receipt is eligible for the rebate.

              cheers

    • Hey mate,
Im interested in this if your willing to drop the price.
      Let me know.
      Cheers, Ben.

  • Bought 2 at my local OW in Bendigo this morning for $49 each . Yeah!!!!

  • I managed to brave the Melbourne heatwave and picked one up from their Airport West store. I think I got the last one! I know that MS will take a few months to put the money into my bank account, but really…. a total cost of $9 is an absolute bargain. :)

  • i bought 2 for $49 each at West Burleigh. There are like TONNES left

  • Just picked up 2 from the Brisbane CBD. They had 2 more left….

  • Just picked up 2 in Sydney @ $49ea (Pittwater Rd but they are now out)

  • FYI - The mouse can use either 2.4hz or BluTooth but unfortunatly the USB Transceiver is only 2.4hz (I'd wanted BluTooth) but for $8 who cares!

  • None left in Brisbane CBD and the online store has no stock and won't backorder!

    • Gabba store has few left when I bought mine … better call to check

    • Picked one up after work at 6pm at the brisbane CBD store. There were a couple more there as well…

  • went to OW South Yarra VIC, they look like still have 2.
asked for price check, price still $99
how you guy manage to get $49?

    • It should scan as $49…. it did for me! Maybe tell them to call another store (i.e. Airport West store, which is where I got mine from).

  • thanks buddy. will try that to another OW store.

  • Just picked mine up from airport west in vic. No dramas, scaned at $49. Wouldn't try there for any more as the staff were also buying them up. Great bargin.

  • Just picked up 2 from Alexandria, Sydney @ $49ea, about 4 left on the shelf.

  • just picked up 1 from Elsternwick Officeworks(Victoria) for 49 there was more 1 left.

  • just picked up the last 2 in sydney, the marked price is $82, I asked the guy to scan and check, yep it is $49 :) no more left..

  • Just brought 2 at SA for $49 each!

    Yeah~!!

  • so do you just photocopy the receipt and print or do you send them the actual invoice given to you by the casheir.

    • +1

      photocopy~

  • +1

You need to complete the online claim form which generates a claim number. Copy your receipt and attach a printout of the completed claim page. Then send it to Bill !
PS installed one of mine on a laptop. sweeeet little mouse !!

  • Thanks for that guys!

  • I picked up a few from the Punchbowl and South Strathfield stores (NSW) and they still had a couple left. I had called Five Dock in the afternoon and they had 1 left in stock. Buying them in store is even better than online - especially as the online one didn't apply to NSW and didn't need to pay the handling charge. A few weeks ago I purchased the Microsoft 3000 Wireless Mouse from Harvey Norman ($9 after $15 cashback), but this is an even better deal. It's got so much more features!

Thanks l_faye for finding this deal and posting it!

  • Just bought one from the West Ryde store, great deal, thanks!!

  • :( nothing left, rang up 5 different stores, they all sold out

    • +1

hey there astroboy, can you maybe share with everyone the stores you called? just so it might help others know not to call/go there…

      • Yeap, I tried South Yarra OW, Chadstone OW, CBD OW (Russel St), Doncaster OW and Melbourne OW (Kings Way). Hope this helps. I don't think there is any left since we cannot even order it online from OW website :(

        • Let me add to that Richmond OW, Fountain Gate OW, Dandenong OW, Eastland OW and Clayton OW.

  • Thankyou for the post. I got two yesterday from OW Fountain Gate :) Oh and that store is sold out now for anyone that is still looking.

  • There are still around 100 in Sydney metro stores, my local store doesn't any left so I couldn't be bothered driving around to hunt one down because I don't really need one, but would be nice to get a couple for birthday presents or something.

If you really want one today (last day to qualify for cash back), just go into any store and ask them to search TEMST8472 in the SAP screen, it will list quality/store. May be you can call them, but being Saturday and back to school, they may not give you an accurate answer over the phone.

Bear in mind that the system quality may not reflect the actual quality on hand due to missing/lost/damaged/stolen stock. So unless you really really want or need one, it's probably not worth the effort running around.

  • Called Richmond and Fitzroy VIC, none left.
    prolly none left in VIC

  • Try ascot vale VIC. When I bought mine yesterday they said there were supposed to be 2 left in that store. Its only a brand new store so they might still have them.

  • I just cleared the Alexandria's Officeworks shelves. I took 3.

    • I think i took 2 just before you in Alexandria OW. They put the 8000s in a corner for some reason lol…..

  • Went to Harvey Norman in Alexandria and do price match with invoice from officeworks, end up $47 each :D

    • How to do the match?

      • i showed them my officeworks invoice where i bought the mouse b4

  • confirmed none left in VIC. I purchased one though amazing mouse worth the money even without cashback.

  • can you put a AAA in with a higher Mah and still charge it??

  • Great stuff up in Townsville: they're now sold out thanks to me.

    Cheers for the heads up.

  • Great finding. Picked 2 yesterday in SA

  • My local OW has some and was gonna get one only to realise the cashback has expired from today :o(

  • I called Alexandria OW actually but it took ages for them to transfer call to tech support or whatever to find the availability of the mouse so I hung up & decided not to go there :(
otherwise you guys wouldnt find any at Alexandria. lol

  • Just had a thought. Wouldn't it have been sinister if people said out of stock so they could go buy it themselves lol

  • +1

Just wanna let others know I've received the rebate.
    Sweet

  • i havent receive my cashbak~~~ anyone else?

    • oh…gosh… That doesn't look so good.
I send my form on the last day.
      Call them. Fingers crossed
