I've had a couple of Dick Smith TVs in the past. Problems started in about 6-7 months for both TVs in the house. Media player ports screwed up. We tested multiple duplicate media players. Sadly when something like this happens, I don't trust the brand no more. :(

Replacing the TVs was easy however though. Extremely polite customer service over the phone. They even let us keep the two TVs that we had problems with. Lol. They even upgraded the TV size, as they no longer carried the two sizes we purchased.

The funny thing is now those two TVs are working perfectly fine and we've got another two TVs, so it makes you think. Lol.

    • You mean the old Tv's USB ports is working back again?

    • u got to keep them..?

      wow

      • @angelkilit.
        Yes.

        @skazclaw.
        Yes.

We use Western Digital Live Media Streaming media players.

They didn't bother taking the TVs back to repair them. I was told just to throw them out, though they worked perfectly fine for TV stations.

    • Nice rant, so DSE gave you 2 TV's for free and you don't trust the brand? WTF?

According to the specs, it only weighs 1.8kg….

    • Can that be right? Seems unlikely.

Our 32"-er from Aldi weighed over 10kgs packaged: I carried it home from Prahran Aldi to the top of Avoca St (1.6km or thereabouts).

Dick Smith Prahran is slightly closer than Aldi, but now we live right at the top of the hill (Domain Rd).

It would be useful to know the real life weight of the thing under Earth gravity, since I am going to beg The Lovely for permission to acquire one of these (yeah, I know… whut-tsssh!).

Even if it's 18kg, I reckon I'll make it up the hill: challenge… wait for it… accepted.

      • looks like 18Kg may be the weight. The 42 inch is 15kg packaged so this one won't be any lighter than that.

      • Me says you won't make it. This TV is online order and free delivery only.

  • Take the extended wty with these dse sets…

  • Is it 50HZ or higher?

    • Why the neg? I was purely asking a question because I couldnt find it on the website.

      • Idiots are idiots. Fixed. :)
