    $449.98 instead?

  • Yeah, should be $449.98, also mentioned at palgn: http://www.palgn.com.au/article.php?m=Bargains

  • to those here with a wii - still using it after 6 months?
I think this is a good deal but am not sure if i'l use it longer term

    • Santa got us one this Xmas. It's only been about 6 weeks but the whole family still uses it. The Wii fit it terrific. I have a 7 year of girl and she loves the thing.

I stopped playing with it after about 2 weeks. The games became very boring after the novelty of playing with the WiiMote wears out. Now it's there just to entertain people when they come over.

It's fun to play but definitely not for anyone who's half serious about gaming, especially not single player.

      • I've had mine for just over a year and am still playing it. 2 weeks? Geez what are you playing? Surely you didn't even make an effort to play the Wii. If you're only going to play Wii Sports and not buy any games then yes you'll get bored. From the sounds of it, "novelty of playing with the wiimote" and "now it's there just to entertain people", you bought the console with only Wii Sports in mind.

You'll get bored of it if you buy crappy games like dated ports and lame party games. There are some really great games and wiiware titles. I just got Super Smash Bros Brawl a few days ago and it's insanely fun.

But I do agree that if you're a real hardcore gamer, you'll probably find that just Wii is not enough. For me though, if I'm really after a game that's not on the Wii, I can just get it on PC. I honestly can't stand using dreaded gamepads after playing the wii as they just feel outdated. PC mouse is the closest.

  • It is a good deal, if there is any stock left.

    • You will need to get in early for this deal. In my experience you can sometimes put your name down on a watiing list to make sure you get the product. It's worth a shot, I did it late last year (went into the store to pressure sales staff :-o).

  • It was a great deal last year, but the same deal now seems out of steam. Given the amount of great bundles at pre-xmas time makes everyone believe that the Wii console itself is not worth $399.

  • I went to buy Wii fit package on 14/2/2009.
I rang up all Toy R Us in Sydney and none of them have Wii fit package in stock.
I went to EBgames but they refused to match as they need to ring up Toy R Us for stock availability.
Desperately, I went to Myer in Chatswood and asked them to do price match.
They calculated the total selling price $399 (Wii console) + $129 (Wii fit) = $528 and then deducted 20% to get their buying price $528 - 20% = $422.4
    I asked it to match $449, which still gave them $449 - $422.4 = $26.6 profit.
Myer gladly sold me the package WITHOUT checking stock availability with Toy R US.

    Thanks Myer.
Ah Myer, you have done it again!!

BTW, I did not get $25 voucher towards future games purchase from Myer.
