  • These are a pretty decent, cheap laptop if you want the Windows 8 experience.

  • Be great if it was i5. Can you upgrade ram to 8Gb?

    • I put a 4gb stick in bumping it up 8gb, I did see people say they've used 8gb to bump it to 12gb but ASUS says a maximum of 8gb.

  • It would be a bargain if it was an i5, this particular laptop isn't especially cheap

    • it has touch, ssd and USB3 though…

      • <duplicate>

The only thing I want to touch W8 with is a sledge hammer.
(Although a cruise missle has its appeal, too.)

    • It's quite a good laptop, I put a ssd in it and it was great.
Obviously not for gaming but for everyday use it's fine.
You could also do a fresh install of Win 8 on the inbuilt Sandisk i100 24gb ssd disable hibernate and have a minimal page file, I've currently got a similar setup on a UX32VD with Win 7 installed on the Sandisk i100 32gb ssd (+ all my programs)and 7gb free, I could free up more space if I needed it.

  • If OZ has at least the i5 model, that would be a deal. The same model can have i7 at other places in the world.

  • 1usb 3.0
    2
    usb 2.0?

    As per officeworks link?

    • Correct.

  • Like the fact they have a vga port and lan jack ….

    How is the battery life?

    • Ultrabookish, didn't take a lot of notice, mostly used it on mains but looking at reviews it's around 5 hours.

We will most likely see Haswell CPU laptop on the shelf at the end of this month. Then will be time to grab a clearance ivy bridge laptop.

    • I don't agree about the price drop, sandy bridge didn't seem to be heavily affected by ivy bridge, in fact sandy bridge are still being used in current release products.

Good laptop. I've got the i5 version with 12GB of RAM, windows does recognize the full 12 GB too

    I full recommend this
