Acer 15" 2nd Gen i3, 500GB = $341 (Myer Store Only) or REFURB at AcerFactory Online

Moderator Notes

We have been contacted by Acer that the cashback is available for New Zealand only hence not available in Australia. The product however was available in Myer for $341 after 10% off. Just that $79 cashback is not available to Australians.

379 with 10% off = 341 - $79 Acer Rebate = 262

All clearance computers at Myer are extra 10% off.
While this model is sold out online (since last weekend), some stores may still carry stock. Caste Hill NSW had stock last week.

***** UPDATE **********

Sorry for the confusion caused earlier in the thread.

Most sales staff at Myer are not aware about any Acer cash back programs.
Last week I bought a Acer S3 Ultrabook at Myer ($499, after 10% off from already discounted price of $559) and the sales person had no idea about the $79 cashback for the machine. Since then, I have successfully submitted my rebate application at Acer website.

Cashback is based on model and serial number. If the model number matches the cashback list and if no one has claimed a cashback for the given serial number and if the claim is within the dates specified by Acer, then Acer should honor that claim.

Having said that, it is still a good idea to double check cashback eligibility with Acer before any purchase.

So please double check with Acer before making any purchasing decisions.

        • Hi eeeee, I agree, so you got the last one :) Seems like you also got the 10% discount ! I can't believe that the lady has lied to me. This is disgraceful. I guess now I am pursuing to get my 10% discount from Myer. Also, I agree with what you said. I still want my $79 cash back too ! Let me know how you going to approach ACCC. I think I will do the same.

        • By the way, what if we use mail forwarding services?
I was just searching online now,
          https://www.privatebox.co.nz/getting-started.php
If we claim using New Zealand address do you think it would work?
          I don't see why not…

        • Acer has taken down the rebate link, so no way to claim even with a NZ address

        • Still works AaronPOZ for NZ Cashback site.

          Try this link:

I put my SNID it seems to work.
The it seems to be roughly gonna cost $9~$16 to use mail forward service. Phew.. may be that is last resort lol

        • Okay, is Acer okay with OZ receipt?

        • +1

Yep, I think so but I think you got an awesome deal with the bonus pack, I called on Sunday morning at around 10:30 and the lady told me they had 3 in stock but 1 was already sold and 2 were on hold but to my surprise I got another call from Myer at around 3pm asking whether I still want it. The funny thing is she told me if I didn't want it, there were 7 other people waiting in line (presumably all from Ozbargain) to get it but I guess they would be relieved not to have got it now… :)

I would very much like to get the extra $79 but to be honest, I can't really be bothered going down the ACCC route, Myer didn't advertise this laptop with the cash back so I don't think we have a case. I totally agree that the Acer website is misleading but I don't think it is quite clear cut since Acer AUS supports both AUS and NZ. Also, the Acer guy on the phone mentioned that information picked up from an online forum (such as Ozbargain)cannot be taken as official, to some extent I agree but thanks to AaronPOZ for posting the deal anyway, it is still a good deal even without the cash back and I am quite happy with my purchase.

  • Someone is learning code at Acer Austrlia :)
