  • Thanks a lot for the heads up , very nice to know .
    I'll give this a crack .

  • are they the only destinations? coz i want Gold Coast to Melb!!!

  • VIRGIN Blue is selling 1000 $1 tickets online to celebrate the first anniversary of services between Coolangatta, Canberra, Sydney, Albury and Port Macquarie.

It's only between those cities apparently so don't bother looking for other fares (e.g. Melbourne, Brisbane)

  • I want Melb to Brisbane.
And where is the link? I tick the pic, but only to the Virgin Blue website.

  • as for the only one $1 flight… couldn't you just use a different computer?

  • cant seem to find ANY!

  • cant seem to get the canberra to gold coast one to come up :(

  • seems they havnt loaded yet…keep waiting!

  • Nothing to Port yet…

  • +2

i think this is a hoax!

  • This could be the problem! Virgin HQ is Brisbane, so it could mean 8pm Brisbane time, which is 9pm NSW/VIC time. But the press release said 8pm AEST!!!

    • +2

Is there a link to the actual press release?

  • +1

Damn i only now just thought of something.
I could have got a flight from syd-canberra. then one from canberra-gold coast and then from gc-canberra and then canberra-syd again lol!

    Oh well :P

    • +1

was gonna do that too but so much stuffing around at the airport with connecting flights I will just pay the 39 bucks and go syd-gc, haha

      • +1

        $39? With Virgin?

    • +1

I don't think you could have bought Sydney-Canberra cheap…it was only the 4 pairs listed.

      EDIT: My bad…I'm blind!!

  • +2

Yes, thank u Sunstar320 for posting this. Booked $4 return ticket (for husband & I) sydney - port macquarie… still got my payment pending though, hope it will go through.

  • Why are they payments pending?

Can they legally cancel a flight? After you booked it up to that stage.

  • +1

Somebody has voted all the replies negative.

    • +1

      What does that do?

    • +1

Yeah I noticed that too but I don't know why?

      • +1

Just voted +ve for all of them. :D

Maybe a comment gets deleted if it gets too many -ve votes.

        • yeah +ve everyone too :D

  • +2

Just got my itinerary email - looks like it's been confirmed.

  • +1

    I received mine, too.
Unfortunately I was stuffing around and by the time I'd submitted the return it was 10.01 AEST and my return was $50, not $1!

SYD-CBR Sat/Sun as the Port fares were work days.

  • Woohoo! I got my itinerary too - all confirmed i guess :D

  • yep got mine too!

two holidays for 8 bucks for two people! can't even get mcdonalds for that cheap :D

  • yay, thankyou virgin for such a cheap sale!, with no Credit card fees and no errors like the Jetstar ones…

  • i missed out on this deal… gotta be quick next time

  • Yipeee.. I've got my tickets… i really want to go to port macquarie, so for $4 return for 2 people is a real bargain…

  • check the Virgin website today from 1pm AEST for some more bargains. Extended Happy Hour will run from 1pm-9pm AEST.

    • Do you work for Virgin?

      • not Virgin, but inside the Aviation Industry yes.
