Best tech youtuber imo. But these headphones are acclaimed by many not just him.

  • What's the difference between ATH-M50, and ATH-M50S?

    • the cable

      S for stright
      (nothing) for coiled
      WH is for white

  • Anyone know if the red limited edition m50 has been released?

    • +1

      I think headphonic has them.

      • Yes $189 but dwi also sells,$169 (both are free delivery)

  • I purchased a pair of these (one with the coiled cable) from a retail shop here while they were on discount, but still cost me $170. So $124 is a good price. However, I suggest to buy coiled cable if possible. Cable cannot be detached at the headphone end. In terms of quality of sound, MTH50 is a great pair. They don't produce much bass as much as the beats, but sound is crisp clear.

  • Just a heads up with the M50s. A few users, including myself, are finding that the earpads are going hard and cracking after very little use. Mine have lasted around 8 months of very light use. So you need to factor in the cost of regular earpad replacement. I'll be getting rid of mine because of this. They do sound good, but I wouldn't call them amazing. Some obvious frequency humps and a pretty small soundstage.

    • They're supposedly not the most comfortable, a few different options for better pads (head-fi.org)
