  • The Toshiba deal has already been posted;

I was semi interested in this TV and can confirm that it has not been on the JB website for around 1-2 weeks. I figured they sold out (or deal finished). So this is really a back in stock listing.

    • That was a different sale which ended a while ago, I did check for similar CURRENT posts and there were none….

  • The TV is also available at Big Brown Box. Same price delivered http://www.bigbrownbox.com.au/toshiba-39al900a-39-inch-99cm-…

I got this TV from Big Brown Box, gotta love there next day delivery and drivers that actually call you in the morning and give you a 2 hour delivery window.

Unfortunately on big drown box "This item is not in stock - BACKORDERED This item has been backordered from the supplier. Expect minimal delays"

  • can anyone comment on the wireless headphones? someone that actually knows what they're talking about and can justify their response..

    • +2

Without being specific to this model, wireless headphones are going to be inferior to their wired counterparts. Aside from technical differences, the cost of adding in the wireless capability is going to compromise other components. Buying a $70 pair of wireless headphones might therefore be comparable to a $30 pair of wired headphones. Having said that, if you're wanting a cheap pair of headphones that have the convenience of being wireless then you can just base your decision on the sound signature of various models, just don't expect the fidelity of a 'mid-range' pair of cans..

Head-fi is always a good, albeit wallet hurting, resource to find information about the best headphones at specific price points.

50Hz.. Does this mean it can't display NTSC 60Hz content?

    • NTSC & PAL is related to the tv tuner capability.
For watching pre recorded tv it would be ok, it is only limited to the format it was recorded in.
The 50hz relates to the refresh rate of the screen… in aust 50/100/200hz in us 60/120/240hz.

  • This tv blows away others under $400. Picture quality is fantastic and the drawback is only comes with 2 HDMI ports which is not enough for a lounge tv but ok for bedroom.

Bought one of these a few hours ago. Pretty excited for it to arrive.. I went into JB (didn't see the
"online only" part) and asked about it, the guy said it was online only so I asked if there was anything similar in the same price range… He said "Nope, the Toshiba blows all the others out of the water in that price range/size". Good enough for me, could've tried to sell me something else but he didn't even bother.

      • Yep, walk into the shop and you get done over.Stay at home become a professional, check Ozbargain everyday get a deal.
Give us a review when you get it please.

        • Got the tv yesterday… Seems alright but after playing with settings and such hooked up to my pc. I'm doubting whether the tv is actually full HD. Native resolution when plugged through HDMI reports as 1360 x 768. Through VGA it comes out as 1080p but neither inputs look that great, text is shocking and hard on the eyes. Tried almost everything I'd say and can't get it looking crispy.

        • Okay I got it looking a lot better. What I did was plug into HDMI, then I had to create a custom resolution of 1080p at 70hz refresh rate. For whatever reason it fixed it. Everything is smooth instead of overly sharp looking. If I change back to 1080p at 60hz everything looks pretty crap again.

        • Set refresh rate to 61 and you get no horizontal screen tearing. ;)
