  • Yeah….I was just looking at a few stores they do seem to be mostly out of stock ;(

  • it was $50-65 in 2011 and now is $70?
I think the "Previously Listed at $119" is 4 years ago. no deal.

  • Bush is an established brand for DAB (and good quality too), but having to replace the batteries could be a minus. I prefer the Philips. It's cheaper, lighter and has an inbuilt battery that lasts over the same period of use:

Here: Free. Actually, your mobile * monthly is likely a sunk cost for carrying >5 gbytes Data; thus putting live streaming to use [$4 / (1000MB / 60min) = $0.24 per hour], might yield one quite satisfactory results.

    • i agree, if you will use this intermittently, your mobile may be the best option. Keep an eye on your data costs though. If you're at all not confident with mobile data, don't use streaming anything

    • Agreed, recommended for use on prepaid only.

E.g. $9.50/3GB ($30) Telstra iPad activated card, would purchase up to 50 hours.

      kogan/boost/woolworth/aldi may be slightly higher ~$5 - $4/GB. (1GB =~17 hours)

      https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tunein-radio/id418987775?mt=…

Huge range of stations and then there is always the various police frequencies containing live action with discussion of names, rap sheets, etc. Actually, I don't listen to it very much :)

  • I wanted to get a small DAB for the footy, as often get interference/static at the grounds. But I took my big arse one once, and the broadcast was on delay, like half a second. Really stupid.

Does anyone know if this is still the case?

    • most likely … all broadcasts are delayed by at least a small amount … even radio waves take time to travel distances

      • hmm, just annoying, there is no delay with normal radio.

  • DAB is delayed a few seconds just as digital tv is. Probably due to buffering requirements in the broadcast?

  • I bought one from DSE for about $20. The reception for DAB is not really good, often cut in and out.

  • I think I just reserved the last Dick Smith one at Carindale (QLD). For this price, it's probably worth a try as an interim method to get DAB into the car (external input).
