  • Is it 4G compatible in Australia?

The American version is a dual-core, not quad.
Edit: Also, American version is only 16gb.

The AT&T version of HTC One X is actually the HTC One XL in Aus.

16gb is the standard rom size for One XL. And contrary to what most people believe, the dual-core Qualcomm S4 in the XL out performs the quad-core Tegra 3 in the One X in just about every benchmark test.

A pointer for anyone buying, flashing HTC One X roms will brick the handset. You can only flash the roms build for HTC One XL.

      • useful info, thanks for posting this

      • Sorry, outperforming the Quad hasn't been true since the 4.0.4 update released, which was almost half a year back now. Now with the Jellybean update for the Tegra 3 One X, it crushes even the Nexus 4 in benchmark tests.
Oh, and the One XL never outperformed the One X to begin with. It was the One S, which uses the same chipset the One XL, that did, due to it's lower-res pentile screen.

A general rule is smartphones from the US should be avoided in Aus as there will usually be issues with getting them to work on our networks.

    • Childish conclusion.

      1. Can you gain root access/ flash custom ROM
      2. Does it support the bands for your network

      That's it, that's all.

    • No, this is patently false - I have imported several used phones from the US over the years to work on NextG INCLUDING THIS ONE:

      1. Yes, fairly easy to root and put Cyanogenmod/AOKP/etc on it
      2. It will support all GSM networks. It has full support for Telstra NextG but only partial support for other 3G networks (it has the crappy 2100MHz band only so it can't use the new 900MHz 3G bands on Optus/Vodafone)
      • My comment was "general" in nature. As quite a high percentage of people don't know how to root their phone and don't want to.

The bands listed aren't always 100% correct and issues can occur even if they are. Perfect example is how people are having issues with the HTC One from the UK even though it is meant to be compatible with Australian bands.

I will choose my words more cautiously next time.

    • Your description says 32gb storage and dual core processor.

  • 4G Network LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 1700 / 2100

  • OP, please edit the post to reflect the true specs of the AT&T HTC One X (ie. HTC One XL), don't just copy and paste the spec for the international version.

    • Agreed. Even the picture is wrong (description says only available in black)

  • it is the At&t spec we apologize but we have no control over the picture therefor we had to inform that it is a black color

without the all important 1800MHz/900Mhz LTE it wont do 4G in oz

  • .

Not an Australian 4G device, only USA 4G supported.

  • +1

Kind of false advertising to say it's 4G since it's not going to be compatible with oz 4G network.
