Today it's Runtastic. I've already bought it from a sale a while ago but for those who haven't. Don't really use it but it was pretty cool when I did.

Download app
Go to app settings
Go to tab 'Enter Promotion Code'
Enter 'APPOFTHEDAY'

Don't remember if it was $4.99 or $5.49. Well the App of the Day app tells me it was $5.49 but I remembered $4.99.

FAQ:

Q. Yada yada something about a 10 days trial yada yada?
A. It's got to do with a special membership on the website that allows you to use 15 extra features that you don't really need. You should just ignore it, imo. If you're interested, click here to read more about it.

Q. Will I be able to keep the upgraded version if I uninstall and then reinstall the app?
A. I'd assume no. However I'd also assume that if you backed it up using Titanium Backup, you'd be able to keep it.

Q. My app doesn't say it's Pro!?
A. It'll only unlock the features of the Pro version onto your regular version (it'll still be the regular version, just with the Pro features). After you activate, you may need to restart the app to see changes.

Q. The code is not working or I'm getting an error when activating?
A. It needs to make a connection to the servers when you activate the coupon, so you need to enable data (Wi-Fi/3G).

    So we need to download the Free version of Runtastic and enter the APPOFTHEDAY somewhere in the app? I'm having trouble understanding.

      Same. I get "Code Valid! 0 Features unlocked"
      Doesn't look any different after unlocking 0 features.

      All Iphone fans, You can also use the Hide from Listing above to permanently banish all Google Play deals from ozbargain.

      Bear in mind that this will also blockout any decent Google tablet deals that come around on Google Play.

      well to be fair, amazon has been doing it for a while on their android app store. US regionlocked though, so required some trickery to use.

        I just checked the name still runtastic, but it shows the pro function already activated, does this mean it already upgraded to pro without name change?

    Tried em all, , but I prefer Endomondo,

    The best thing about Runtastic is the street view play back of the run in Google earth.

        for me it was better social integration with FB and network effects because many friends had endomondo already,

        Easier to compare and compete. Also a little bit is just subjective I guess. Runtastic came around later endomondo was around long before on offers.

        For me… just managed to hack Endomondo Pro (on SGS2 with recent vodafone JB update)to accept ANT+ usb dongle(Garmin)…
        Now i can use HRM and foot pod….

    So now I have yet another training app: now have CardioTrainer Pro, Endomondo Pro, and RunTastic Pro - one of these days I swear I'm gonna train regularly enough to warrant having ONE of them.

    Fact is the training app I use most often is the one that never fails to sync to my Polar Wearlink Bluetooth HRM… namely HRNavi by T Miyanaga. All the rest drop the link - a circumstance that totally licks donkey sphincter.

      Your mobile device must have issues somewhere. I'm still kicking a HTC Desire (with custom roms) and haven't had trouble connecting my Polar bluetooth HRM to it. And any time it doesn't connect before an activity, it has always been a depleted battery (tested with multimeter numerous occasions).

        Dont think so. I skipped that, went to settings and put in the promo code. Whether it will survive uninstalling/reinstalling I dont know.

      Strange, no matter what I did (including phone reboot) I couldn't get it to work. When I turned off Wi-Fi and tried over cellular it finally worked. I couldn't log in/create account over Wi-Fi either.

      The 10 days is for the website Premium membership, nothing to do with the app Free/Pro status.

    Has anyone tried reinstalling one of these apps which are unlocked with a code before? I.e. if I reinstall cyanogenmod and start afresh, is there anyway to keep the app unlocked or to backup the unlocked state?

      I'd think if you backed it up using something like Titanium Backup, you'd be sure to keep the Pro. Not sure.

      Nope. I don't think so. It's just the regular version with unlocked Pro features.

    1. Download from above link to my phone using 3G network

    2. Opened the app and notice "GO Pro". Click the app settings and scroll down to Enter promotion code " APPOFTHEDAY"

    3. It requested to restart the app. When restarted no "Go Pro" option.

    It works

    Thanks for the post, paid for this back on iOS and didn't want to splurge when I transitioned to Android awhile ago! Worked nice and easy, the Go-Pro disappears and all works well!

    For peeps without TiBackup, you may also opt for Carbon which doesn't require root access to back-up :)

    I got an email this morning reminding me: "Your FREE GOLD Membership Trial expires in 2 days!", what does this mean? I don't remember signed up any gold membership from them yet. Hope it doesn't mean the Pro functions are temporarily activated, I haven't started to run at all.
