  • Probably a dumb question but how are these for quality? How many uses can I expect to get outta the headphones and the USB car charger?

    • +1

I's also using the same charger for my car for more than 1 year, and still working

the headset quality is clear and loud enough for phone call inside the train.

      • +1

        which train?

      • +2

So you catch the train and drive 5 minutes to work!

In summary you have used your charger once in a year =)

    • The Car Charger is a copy of the BELKIN one - even copies the BELKIN part number (f8z445ea) and the certifications and approvals.

      EDIT:

EXCEPT FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE - THERE IS NO AUSTRALIAN CERTIFICATION.

(Hardly matters, that it is missing, as they would all be false anyway.)

  • is anyone willing to share their thoughts/experiences with 3rd party 8 pin cables (aka the new apple cable), especially the cheap ones?

    • yes i bought 3 and 2 died within a week from another ebay seller
is it worth the hassle of sending it back?
but the real ones are an absolute ripoff

  • is anyone willing to share their thoughts/experiences with 3rd party 8 pin cables (aka the new apple cable), especially the cheap ones?

AKA a Lightning Cable - they are all crappy.

However, as thelastnoob said, the genuine ones from Apple are 'overpriced'.

    • i refrained from calling it by its proper name because i actually know people who confuse it with the Thunderbolt cable. One of whom tried to convince me they meant the same thing despite me telling him it made no sense. Even lightning and thunder are two separate phenomena in nature.

Yeah i do agree apple's cable is overpriced, but at least i get the peace of mind knowing that my phone won't just blow up or something. I'm not saying unauthorised, 3rd party cables will (i'm in no way an electrical engineer) but if the danger is anywhere near those knockoff apple chargers then i would definitely want to know.

  • Be wary of stuff labeled fast and free shipping from these guys… I bought one of those micro SD's on the 5/4 with estimated delivery 9/4 and when I asked yesterday (12/4) about how long to wait before starting to worry I received a rather matter-of-fact that shipping takes 5-8 working days and that my order shipped on the 8/4….so much for "fast and free" shipping…misleading practice on their eBay site and yes I am based in Sydney

    Can't complain about prices though

    • Be wary

Of everything from these people (ShoppingSquare/Apus).

I made one purchase, via eBay, of iPhone cables (from their previous OzBargain post) on 22/03/2013. I volunteered no information and paid via PayPal.

I am now receiving SPAM addressed to my eBay eMail address. This SPAM has no 'opt out' (or 'unsubscribe') info. The return/sender address (@shoppingsquare) is faked and messages sent to it 'bounce' back.

It appears that there is no way to contact ShoppingSquare via phone or their web site. One must join the site as a "member" before being able to make contact with them. As I never 'subscribed', and do not want anything to do with them, I certainly do not want to 'join' them as a 'member' just to ask them to stop spamming me.

I have sent a message via eBay asking them to stop spamming my eBay address. However, they do not reply.

Perhaps the rep here on OzBargain could comment on this?
