iphone5 cable $5..?. wave of negs coming through

  • +1

plus your lightning cable and 8-30 pin adapter are compared to apple's retail price, which i think is misleading because it implies your stock is of genuine apple accessories.

    • +1

Whats makes you say that? Apple charges $50 for their cable whilst they are $5 here. Furthermore the seller does not mention apple anywhere.

No apple logos. no mention of the words genuine, authentic or original. I cannot see how you could be confused

      • i don't know where you got that $50 figure from but if you've ever paid that much for an apple cable i've got news for you.

Apple sells their lightning to usb cable for $25, which is close to what this website is implying their cables' RRP is:

You could pay the extra $11 but with us you will get this cable for only $5

i.e. You could pay $26 but we're selling it here for $5!

Apple sells their 30-pin adapter for $35, which is exactly what this website is implying their adapters' RRP is:

Why pay $35 in store for when you can get it here for $10

i.e. It costs $35 in store but we're selling it here for $10!

also, if you've bought any apple accessories lately, you would have noticed most (if not all) no longer have any apple-related branding on it. The reason i did not use the phrase "OP claims" is precisely because there was "no mention of the words genuine, authentic or original", as you put it. It was never stated outright and therefore, implied.

        • 1) $5 + $11 does not equal $26
          2) $26 does not equal $25
3)I fail to see how just because 2 things are priced the same (which they are not) you can get confused.
4)where did I implied you said "OP Claims" I merely make a point to exclude other factors that often confuse people. I never claimed you implied any of them
5)This deal does not mention the adapter. Why you bringing this into the argument?
6)The apple logos I am referring too are on the website when you purchase apple products. No such logos on this reps.

Its quite clear these are third party products. Even blind freddy can see it.

          1. My bad; afternoon coffee hasn't quite kicked in yet.
          2. No, it's an approximate. This point is moot anyway due to my mathematically-challenged brain.
          3. I never said i was confused. I merely though, in my opinion, that it was misleading. You're certainly entitled to your own opinion.
          4. I never said you implied. My original point was that OP's RRP implied, or suggested without explicit reference, that they're genuine accessories, given their price is close to apple's.
          5. This is not an argument. I simply pointed out that the products should not be labelled with apple's retail price.
          6. Would it have made a difference? I think not.

Its quite clear these are third party products. Even blind freddy can see it.

There's no need to resort to childish taunting. I'm no lawyer but if commercial law has taught me anything, it'll be that there's no such thing as 'quite clear' or 'obviously'. There's only facts, which is weighed and the outcome determined by sound arguments and/or precedents.
