Was doing some search's on JB and came across this handset.

Good price for anyone after a larger screen phone for sub $140

The phone is an older model however still a good handset for anyone who needs a phone to just call and send SMS's.

Form looks of it Telstra says this handset is Windows Phone 7.8 available which gives you the smaller tiles like WP8

    Well I cant comment on the Telstra one but my old unbranded HD7 had tethering however no details listed on the Telstra support pages :/

      http://www.cnet.com.au/htc-hd7-339306576.htm seems to say it would not support it, but this was back on the April 12, 2011

        Originally it was not available however they have a firmware update which allowed the feature

  Dad has one of these, it's alright but the battery life is pretty poor. Doesn't have 7.8 yet but apparently that's coming soon, still in testing. Not sure why - I didn't think carriers were allowed to modify WP software.

      Ah, I saw on Gizmodo or something that it had gone into second round testing and thought that meant it hadn't been released yet. Dad doesn't have it yet, but that's because he never connects it to his computer :/

  I've still got one of these a my device (generic not Telstra version) and it's working fine. I got the 7.8 update on it a month of so ago, still works without skipping a beat :) You can't tether via USB, but you can use it as a wifi hot spot.

  Quite laughable that the Nokia C2-01 is on the same page as the above N8 for more money
