    • did you just print out the catalogue? and where?

    • where did you buy it?

Thanks for a thoroughly useless post.

I just went to two Optus stores and they both told me they're offering them at $99 on Wednesday to match Big W. Stock shouldn't be an issue either.

Oh, and they wouldn't give it to me for $99 today.

    • Bugger, bro….it would be good if you could get your hand on 1 today. :D

Guess that would give me a lil piece of mind instead of queueing in front of BigW like people did for ipad on launch day…LoL Thanks for the info.

    • So the Optus Store version and Big W version are exactly the same as far as contracts etc go?

      • There's no contract, it's prepaid.

Damn! And I walked straight past two Postshops to visit Optus!

Looks like this will just become standard pricing. I bet there'll still be lines at BigW on Wednesday though.

I shall be picking one up on the way home - cheers gmore!

      • If the store doesn't have it, ask them to search for it on the product code. cause I know in sydney there is limited stock already,

        • Is there any way of contacting a AustPost store before you go there to see if they have stock?

    • Do you need to ask for price match or it is the price they got right now?

      • the $99 is the list price on their system, the store might display a different price, but the system price is $99. I checked at 2 stores.

        • Great! Thanks gmore. I am very tempted to get out of my office and check the close-by post office right now.

Put in postcode then click on the outlet name for phone no.

EDIT - Partner just picked one up from MEL CBD, the post office closest to Collins Place, sorry don't know exactly where it is. An employee in there was just putting up a sign displaying the new price. Not sure of numbers as I didn't get them to ask. I think you'll be fine grabbing one tonight and early tomorrow in VIC.

BTW Awesome work gmore!! Thanks for sharing!! Have posted your comment into the forums for those that might not be trawling this thread.

      • don't need to get out of the office, just call up 131318, 3, 3 to speak to an operator. and get them to check for you :)

    • Definitely a better idea than mine, ringing individual shops…gmore does it again! ;)

Okay just got off the phone ,

Katoomba, Auburn, Burwood, Chester Hill, Fairfield, Lithgow, Lane cove & St Mary's are all showing more than 2

    The others

Strathfield, etc are showing less, i guess one

    • Mikinoz what store are you referring to?

      • Ooops Aus post

  • Just Booked One on hold From a Telechoice Store …… Hopefully , I get it on wednesday

  • Just got off the phone. Seems like all Sydney AustPost stores have no stock. Gosford may have…..

  • Seems like other retailers won't drop price until June 1.

    • Try HN!?

  • just rang up aus post to check for stock, he said that there were none in stock for the whole of victoria. guess ill have to wait for wednesday :(

    • I think you got blown off because there were some left at the PO in MEL CBD an hour ago where my partner got ours.

  • Can anyone please advise if this tablet comes with a SD card? SD or MicroSD? Thanks.

  • +1

Hey all, can anyone tell me if this comes with a charger that plugs into a wall, or just through the comp? I really want this tab, but it's useless to me if it doesn't have an AC power supply (want it for travelling) - cheers :o)

  • Oh NOOOOOOO!!!

    I just bought it TODAY!!!

I bought in OPTUS Store in QV, the price is 149 and I recharged $120 for unlocking my phone!!!

Is it possible to get the refund????
    Any idea?

    Help~!!!!!!

    • Also seeking advice…I purchased today from Big W for $149.00…anyone had an experience going back to get the difference between RRP and catalogue?

      • +1

Take it back and say that it's $99 in the catalogue not $149 (be nice). You'll probably be fine either way, but I wouldn't mention you didn't know about the sale. Act like you didn't know the catalogue hadn't started and thought it was $99 when you bought it.

(Might be a bit of a hard sell if you paid cash and didn't buy anything else at the same time. Then I'd say you were getting it for a family member and didn't know what the price was supposed to be.)

  • i just got mine from Aus post Melbourne GPO for $99.. seems like there are still stocks available. unboxing now
I notice most of the micro sd card are micro sdhc for 8gb, 16gb, 32gb. Can ZTE V9 use micro sdhc?

  • +1

I notice in the conditions it isnt available in Tasmania or Northern terittory.

  • My colleagues and I picked up 3 from Perth GPO this afternoon for $99 a pop!

    • yeah he took all……

  • I went to burwood and auburn postshop about 4:40. but they all sold out.

  • How accurate are these Big W stock levels on their websites? I'm thinking of picking up 2 first thing in the morning on Wednesday. Website says 2 of my local stores have them in stock but low.

    • +1

It seems most stores don't have their stock in yet. Low stock in my experience has meant display model only. I rang Big W Forest Hill this morning, 3131, their stock is showing as low. I was told they had none and would get more sometime this week.

      • apparently they are only getting two and it will be later in the week…. Good Luck with Big W stock levels from what I have heard they will have very few… best best is most optus shops will have about 10 if their orders have come in :)

    • +1

The catalog also says LIMIT 1 PER CUSTOMER

  • Would love to try my hand at using this as a DIY head unit for the car. Music player/gps/fm radio sounds pretty good on paper. Would be a right pain to install though hahah

    • I think 7" is the perfect size for a car computer. But display is a big factor for car use.
You might want to look for something with a brighter and transflective display, if you have the budget.
Anyone know any options in 7" form?
Or maybe a shade hood, like on the car instrument panel, would do the job.
It comes with google navigation included. Its OK, but I much prefer IGO which you can get for Android, I'm told.

  • Guys, We now have stock at $99.00 available. http://www.uniquemobiles.com.au/Store/Search.aspx?key=v9

    • +2

      $15 shipping….. no thanks :)

    • Can I combine it with the Nokia BH-108 deal and get free shipping?

    • $15 shipping is not too bad to secure one, but if we consider $15 is 15% of the unit's price…. hmmm

      • +2

Sorry can't discount shipping at this stage as we were only able to secure 75 pcs at this price because stock is drying up quite fast.

        Thanks

        • i need 3 pieces if you give me postage discount i will buy immediately

    • is it unlocked.if not how much you will charge to unlock it?

  • Hardly Normal will pricematch the Big W sale and you can have it now, er, that is when they're open again. Bought one today $99 at the Tweed (they had at least one more, other GC stores no stock) and I've already upgraded to Froyo (Android 2.2) from the Optus site and downloaded and run Skype from the Android Market. Stoked!! URL for Android 2.2 upgrade follows:

    http://personal.optus.com.au/web/ocaportal.portal?_nfpb=true…

Note: Android 2.1 as delivered on Optus MyTab will not support Skype….

    • Melb CBD HN left display unit. They will price match too if u show them the catalogue.

    • Did you check Aust post shops?

    • Just updated mine to 2.2.. ftw~ smooth.. but the power off> power on> up n down button kinda Lame.. haha.. eventually i did it.. monkey, i mentioned above.. aus post have it before 1st june, u just need to check with yr local store's stock amount.
For those who was asking about language selection: it has english and chinese languages for the system and also the keyboard.
Have not explore every single specific option yet, being pretty busy now, shall continue playing with it a month later. Overall, happy with it so far.
Can anyone confirm that 16gb micro sdhc usable in ZTE V9?
      Cheers for all V9 owners.

      • Yes but 32gb is better , get class 4 and above

      • +6

Yes, supports up to 32gb, but 16gb Sandisk class 4 card is the sweet spot for value right now, $24.65 delivered:
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SanDisk-16GB-microSDHC-Card-micro…

        • I was looking on tinydeal.com, but this is much cheaper, thanks mate!

        • Thanks so much. Have just purchased two of the Micro sd cards. I also managed to get a tab from Australia Post. I think it must have been the only one left in the South West. Off to get it now. Sharon

        • Have you got these cards and tested them yet!? It appears that SDHC cards can be problematic as opposed to the SD card it came with. Would be interested to hear how you went!?

    • i installed skype in to my optus tab with anroid 2.1

  • yeh a lot of shops should be getting stock towards the end of this week so there shouldnt be too big of a drama getting one ……. I did ask and they said it wasnt a run out deal and shops can re order but it certainly smells like a run out deal so I wouldnt panic but I wouldnt drag my feet either.

  • Hi All bought one of these yesterday for $150 (never check OB after you buy something), can tell people stock is very low to some extent none existant at Optus stores and Dick Smith in Victoria, just want to say although $100 is a great price $150 aint to bad either so i'm not cut, those of you who don't want to risk missing out may want to pay the extra $50 yes stores are expecting deliveries, but after missing out on the Galaxy tab deal i don't mind spending the extra $50

    • I got the impression that while stock levels are low now, they will be restocked to coincide with the price drop - which makes sense really. I think ugoagogo nailed it with his(her?) comments above.

      • Fair comment, but if you have limited store access it may be worth paying the extra $50 and getting one while they still have them, i am sure people will be able to see my point, don't get me wrong they could have stock at that price for the next month hell it may even come down in price, it's the risk you are taking (there is a new model coming so this is definately a run out)

    • According to my friendly local Optus store manager, stores should be getting deliveries on 31/5 of around 10 units per store to start the sale off, then it's re-order as required till the cupboard is empty.

    • I miss my $50….But i dont think stock should be an issue. cos this tablet cannot be compared to samsung galaxy.

  • Just tried Aus Post to see if there are any in Brissy… The only stores that have them are Nerang, Bundall and Toowoomba. So nothing close to Brisbane, just a heads up.

    • I have checked the Brisbane GPO, the nearest store got stock is St Lucia (only 1 left)

    • I just picked up one from the Sunnybank Hills Aussie Post and they still had at least 1 left.

  • +1

Called Optus online if they will drop the price to $99
The guy was bit rude (probably tierd of Ozbargainers like me), he advised can't offer any discount…I have to buy it whatever the price is listed in Online shop…

    • +1

Thanks for this comment - very helpful.

    • I got the same response from an online live help. When the window pop-up I thought I may ask… Big fat No for $99, only $149 and no price decrease planned.

  • Bought two from Post office Central Ave Hervey Bay, one for me and one for my workmate. I think the post office at pialba shopping ctr should have some.
Note most post office seems to just got two units into stock, as the shop is showing 'not available' label on the tab but actually they have two.

  • +2

For VIC shoppers, I checked with a Auspost shops and as of COB last night this was the stock level: Epping 1, Brunswick 2, Preston 2, Monne Ponds 2 Ivanhoe 2. Price is $99 and they have a 14 day return policy as long as box is unopened. Good luck!

    • picked one from moonee ponds, there is one more on hold. I asked about return policy and lady said that if I just change my mind I cant return it. Only if there is something wrong with it. Could give some link/reference to this 14 day return policy?

  • edit: solved.

  • Confirmed Sydney qvb have stock :)

  • Got one from aus post prahran. Although I have ipad2 and I dnt need this, but couldn't resist $99 deal. Unboxing now!

    • +2

Update the firmware asap its much better :)

      • Would you happen to know, how to unlock it?

        • +1

see 1st page for link, have not tried it myself though

  • Phoned Telstra 13# & had one put aside. Called down to local PO and big sign shows & they would only sell for $149.
    I'll try the 13# again

    • Telstra's National centre didn't have pricing so they phoned the closest other PO store, but they didn't have any stock & couldn't advise pricing, so after 10 mins on the phone I gave up.

Local Optus reseller hasn't received the catalogue, so don't have any mytab's & don't know what the sales are tomorrow.

      • +1

        None at Big W
        None at HN

        • +1

So, after calling back into the PO & saying that my other 'friends' have been getting for $99 & could they scan, they looked very surprised when it scanned at $99.
Then said, oh, it's Optus, & I said, yes, the one I asked for. They said no, thought you wanted Telstra, which is $149.
          Problem solved.

Picked mine up from AusPost Charlestown (Newcastle, NSW) this morning. Had it set aside yesterday and they had one other. Suggest following gmore's advice of ringing the 13 number and let Auspost track it down and put on hold for you.

    • Did that & store would not sell for $99

  • Does anyone know how to UNLOCK this device?

    • +1

see page 1 of this thread

      • Duh… I knew i read it somewhere… This thread has become so big! Unlocked it now. Thanx a ton.
        Cheers!

        • unlocked mine last night, get the code, turn of replace the sim, (not easy see other comments i used a pair of long nose pliers)
turn back on and enter code, hey presto !!!

    • I followed the advice and link from the first page poster aacheney . It worked perfectly and was very easy. Just downloading 2.2 now to upgrade Sharon

  • +1

Just an idea, does anyone know if this is claimable under student or business expenses ?

  • +3

Just got one from Epping Victoria Oz Post. Ticketed at $99, mind you shop assist had no idea what it was. BigW and Dicks here don't appear to have them in stock, and Telechoice priced at $149. Big thanks to poster of Aus Post info.
