[PRICE ERROR] Asus Eee Slate Ep121 Windows 7 Tablet - $122 Harvey Norman
Moved to Forum: Original Link
Found this whilst browsing the site. It seems a lot cheaper than all other retailers so it seems like a good deal.

+1 voteShame, OW seem to be one of the only stores I'm familiar with, that will match a price even when it is under cost for them.
HN for example I have experienced multiple times, that they will refuse to go under cost OR when I was purchasing a T.V for example they did not believe the price I got from GoodGuys, (must of thought I was making it up (I wasn't)) literally laughed at me and told me to go get it from there then. I was happy to spend my money elsewhere.

Darkstyles on 26/12/2012 - 03:17 ¶If harvey Norman's checkout is like officeworks - the stock check is done at payment processing (Yep, sounds stupid and it is).
So seeing as people are still able to order - it means they have stock!
EDIT: Can someone give a quick explanation on what a broden is?

I'm sorry guys but as mentioned above in their terms:
(5) The goods and services described in this website are available from Harvey Norman Online only (unless the goods or services are specified as “available in store only”), and will be available for you to make an offer to Harvey Norman Online via the website to purchase at the specified price on or before the end date specified in a current catalogue, or until otherwise removed from the website or as specified, and where Harvey Norman Online accepts your offer, Harvey Norman Online will sell the goods or services to you in accordance with these Terms and any Catalogue Terms.
Defined by HN Terms - "Order" means an offer made by you in response to an invitation to treat made by Harvey Norman Online via the website
Put simply my interpretation is:
If we make an order online with confirmation. That is just confirmation that HN received our 'offer' to pay that amount and they have a choice to accept or deny that 'offer'
The part where it is one sided is that, we are bind by a contract to uphold that offer, but they are not until they accept it (accepting it, is not order confirmation).
greenpossum on 26/12/2012 - 03:31 ¶That's not so different from a shop where a price sticker is an "offer to treat" and no contract exists until the merchant accepts the offer. So I fully expect our offers will be rejected later today.
+1 votegarratt torlesse on 26/12/2012 - 04:26 ¶True, but if HN actually accepts the paypal payment or make a charge to the credit card. They have accepted the offer, thus making the contract binding.
michaelTito on 26/12/2012 - 03:23 ¶ordered 1 via paypal and received the confirmation email 10 mins after.

+1 votearrogant84 on 26/12/2012 - 03:51 ¶how lucky u are bro
i ordered 1 by cc and 1 by paypal but havent received confirm email yet
+1 voteDarkstyles on 26/12/2012 - 03:29 ¶They probably just want to clear inventory, hence the low price. They're going to clear out the Win7 tablets I assume…
And maybe use Boxing Day as an excuse to allow the higher-ups to approve the orders :)
dreamscene on 26/12/2012 - 03:39 ¶I hope they at least admit to a mistake but serve the first 150 customers just to be polite and spread the holiday cheer lol. (They might get good free publicity from this on mainstream media)

Confirmed that they took my money from the Paypal payment.
Wait and see what happens.
Does anyone know this being an Online only order the best way to get in touch with them?
I can see getting a refund as possibly a headache scenario or alliteratively, if by some huge miracle they honer this, I would like to contact them and ask to combine my shipping and an E-Mail department does not seem efficient, (I will take it as a contact if someone knows it though?) or is their a phone number anyone is aware of?
+3 votesDarkstyles on 26/12/2012 - 03:47 ¶I'd laugh if this was some sort of test to see if people can find deals without them needing to be advertised via traditional media - which would save them millions of dollars a year - in exchange for a few ASUS PCs xD
Well - they succeeded! They underestimated the power of ozBargain :)

I think lets NOT get greedy and order more than one each people…
I ordered one, they of course, should honour this full stop, but they are more likely to honour it if you dont place multiple orders imo. Also save your order receipt number.
They took the money out of my account, but I did not get a confirmation email… strange….?

Don't think I will be getting the email confirmation for this order anytime soon.
I did a small test and registered a test account on HN's site. The confirmation email for that arrived within a minute.
The email confirmation for the actual product hasn't arrived even though the order was placed an hour ago :(
+1 voteannoynimous on 26/12/2012 - 04:47 ¶publicity stunt made by HN to stress test their online system
wishful thinking really, if we all expect the thousands of orders to be honored :D
the cheapest price is around 700 over, and even at clearance of say 300-400 is considered mighty cheap
I bet there's plenty of multiple orders by re-sellers (and would be re-sellers)
Shlomo Scheinbaum on 26/12/2012 - 04:57 ¶Ordered two, thankfully I was up at 5:30 because I was constipated from eating too much Christmas food. Take THAT Metamucil.
Chris McMahon on 26/12/2012 - 05:02 ¶I ordered one. Unfortunately it looks like I'm several hours, and hundred of orders, late to the party. My order is "pending".
I won't sweat it if I miss out, but it would be a nice belated Christmas present to myself. :)

wolfenator87 on 26/12/2012 - 05:50 ¶HAHA - This massive malfunction might kill him. There will be hell to pay for whoever is in charge of the website!
moonlite51 on 26/12/2012 - 06:18 ¶You seem to against ppl buying multiple purchase. I reckon it's their right to buy as many as they can afford. If it's not honoured, it's because HN's error anyway, not bcos there are individuals who purchased more than one (fyi I only bought one) :)
