[PRICE ERROR] Asus Eee Slate Ep121 Windows 7 Tablet - $122 Harvey Norman
Moved to Forum: Original Link
Found this whilst browsing the site. It seems a lot cheaper than all other retailers so it seems like a good deal.

honestly its boxing day and its old stock remember…
Look at all the publicity they got even at stupid hours of the morning…
I think most likely its a just a markdown for boxing day to clear out of date stock and generate talk etc. I am sure lots of us will be looking over the rest of HN stock etc. Isnt that what boxing day sales traditionally have done often afterall….?

ratsackgamer on 26/12/2012 - 06:35 ¶So, what's the deal with people who ordered? We'll just be refunded?
drbuckyballs on 26/12/2012 - 06:51 ¶on homepage, see below. you can expand the live chat. just popped up.
+3 votesCan confirm; had the same conversation.
On a strange note I was about to say a friend had placed an order but and wanted to confirm if it would be honoured.. I didn't send this and instead wrote I was curious if other orders would be honoured, the rep wrote "Please have your friend contact Harvey Norman in regards to their order with all reference numbers."
Seems they can see your chat box.
CarbonTwelve on 26/12/2012 - 06:35 ¶I really can't see them honouring this one. It's a pricing mistake of $500+, and quite clearly there have already been hundreds from OzBargain alone, not to mention wherever else this was posted. I doubt they're going to just honour hundreds of thousands of dollars of loss.
+5 votesjackthefrost on 26/12/2012 - 06:43 ¶Why do these things always happen when people are asleep?

Looks like an amazing deal if it gets honored, had a look on asus support page for windows 8 drivers the following was displayed
Please note EP121/B121 will have below limitation on Windows 8:
1. The EP121/B121 only supports 2-finger touch input
2. Does not support Windows 8 Snap View function due to the EP121/B121's 16:10 aspect ratio.
3. The EP121/B121's touch sampling rate supports up to 50Hz only.If the windows 8 experience is limited I wonder if their is touchscreen support in the newer Ubuntu distro's for this tablet?

From the looks the EP121 only supports 2-finger touch input irregardless of Windows 8. The second point means you only won't be allowed to snap metro apps side-by-side, it's not a huge loss.
I have a Windows 8 tablet (Vaio Duo 11), I think 2 touch input would be adequate if they were honoured at this price.
GreenGuava on 26/12/2012 - 07:01 ¶Far out, missed out…! Awesome boxing day deal if HN decide to honour it for those who did get in!
scorpiosony on 26/12/2012 - 07:10 ¶go HN website…log in, you will find your order in your HN account and order number
-1 voteJust spoke with their online chat who said all would be getting a refund. Question for me is what is the consumer affairs policy with that? They have advertised to all and sundry that it was that price and people have it with the correct receipt etc but they are just going to refund it.
+1 voteHard a quick read of the T&C.
(8) Harvey Norman Online may, in its sole and absolute discretion, accept or reject any offer made by you for any reason (or no reason), including an error in the advertised price for, or description of, the products on the website, or an error in your Order.

Imagine how much they debit your credit cards and paypal, then they said it was a total mistake, and it will take maybe 2-3 painful weeks and a lot of phone calls before you get your $$$ back … or even worst is they will only refund you store credit or giftcard, think Gerry will get lots of curses !!!

Very angry and curse at my computer screen,
Vow never to shop at HN ever again "and probably forget in 2 weeks"
And to really show them how angry I'am I will neg this deal!
+1 voteRefund process is relatively straightforward… Identify orders for incorrectly priced tablet, issue full refund to all due pricing error. Send apologetic email stating that they are under no obligation to provide product if clearly a pricing error.
I don't see why they would need to "sweeten"… it's not like the refund is a negotiation.
liverpool2009 on 26/12/2012 - 07:29 ¶It took far too long to take down. Looks likes another Gerry Harvey dirty trick to get traffic to his site. First 100 orders should be honored imo.

There's something dodgy… Were confirmation emails sent after the transaction? Contrasting to previous purchases through HN, I never received an immediate automated email. And to confirm: all purchases will be refunded due to "mistake". I doubt that it was genuine. But nice to share, OP :)

I got one within 10 mins, i was one of the first people to order…

Hello *. How may I help you?Me
Hi, will the asus ep21 table pc offer be honoured? I paid already. You have been transferred to: Joe Computers.
Joe Computers
Unfortunately there was a pricing error with this product, you will be contacted shortly and a refund will be arranged, sorry for any inconvenience.
+3 votesHow dare they refund an obvious pricing error…I understand they are actually required by law to honour once payment is made, but I really don't think the law was designed for situations like this, and its pretty scummy to think that companies should lose out because an employee pressed the wrong key or left a digit off.
That being said, HN should already be on your ban list! :P
liverpool2009 on 26/12/2012 - 07:59 ¶How many products are on the HN site? Tablets are very popular, it's their fault for not double checking especially when they know boxing day attracts the most people.
