                • @Brendan86: I got a message after placing the order that they will try to deliver within 10 days, but there is a chance it might take 3 weeks.
BTW When you dad goes back, claim back GST at airport if he got the phone by then.

@Genghis: It can go either way with Samsung. I ordered tab last secret sale on 17 Feb. At that time, my order said ETA 17 Mar, but I got the tab on 25 Feb. My friend who had 4 Mar ETA also received it a few days before me. YMMV. I found they generally ship within 2 weeks, but yeah, if you really hope for hard deadline due to TRS reason, there's always a chance you might miss it

  • Thanks OP!!!! I got a $1749 RRP Galaxy S24+ 512GB for $789.40 with SECRET3, a $10 Trade-in of my old S8 and an extra $100 off with the Chat Code (MUST Trade-in and buy off website to use $100 Chat Code)

  • Beware people who are trading in.
I got ripped off last time, and I would not partipate in such a scheme again.
The terms and conditions are such, that you basically are at "their" evaluation of the value of the phone you are trading in.
By the time you receive your new phone, you are farked. Dont rely on trade in value

    • That's why I always copped the penalty for not returning and sell on Marketplace for better value. :)

    • 100% correct.

    • After reading this thread decided I want nothing to do with Asurion

      https://www.reddit.com/r/samsung/comments/1c9xb37/samsung_tr…

The person was complaining because they didn't follow the instructions to "Unlock and disable all passwords and security features on your original device." Also says no scratches on screen or camera but later says minor scratches on side. Some people consider deep scratches as minor so without photos, you can never know just how bad the scratches are and asurion may have good reason to mark it how they did. Just look at facebook marketplace where people say products are in perfect or new condition even though photos show damage. Someone in another thread saying Asurion said the headset connection didnt work for the "perfectly working" phone but they had never even plugged wired headphones in and didnt even know it could.

        • The fact OP received a refund of $430 when denied months earlier says it all. I do not want to be at the mercy of a flip flopping company with no means of contact. Their global reputation stinks.

          • @Lets Go Brandon: The refund didnt need to be given since they didnt even remove the passcode so seems Samsung have decided to refund based on some other reason not related to the phone condition. Could just mean it was easier for Samsung to refund instead of wasting more staff time dealing with this person. Asurion may taken the phone apart for parts already so wouldnt have been show Samsung it did have damage or something else. There are lots of possibilities.
Whatever questions i ticked for trade in somehow made my trade in phone as Non Good Working Order but Asurion actually changed it to Good Working Order. Seems odd for them to do that if they had a reputation of saying phones are damaged when they arent.

            • @8azinga: You seem to enjoy making assumptions. Nowhere does it say Samsung issued the refund. I never knew Asurion fanboys existed.

What are your thoughts on the quality of Dominos Pizzas?

              • @Lets Go Brandon: The customer said they couldnt get in contact with asurion, which is another lie again because you can, so that would mean Samsung was discussing details and refund with Asurion. Given you love to shit on Asurion without any personal experience and believe everything you read on the internet, it seems unlikely Asurion would just decide to give a refund if they reputation is what you think. Seems nore likely Samsung stepped in and asked or even conpensated Asurion for it.

                • @8azinga: At no time have I shat on Asurion nor have I intimated a penchant for doing so. Nor is there any indication whatsoever that Samsung issued the refund outside of your pro-Asurion Sovietesque propaganda. I am absolutely flummoxed to just now discover Asurion is not publicly listed - such is the level of your Stanning.

Was deeply disappointed your withheld your thoughts on Dominos..

I can't get the first order 5% to work even on a new fresh account. Anyone else have this issue?

  • -$120 S21FE trade In
    -$150 bonus trade in
    -$100 loyalty voucher
    -5%

    $531 for an S24+
    Not bad

Now to cancel the trade in, pay the trade in value back and then just sell the phone for $250

  • Picked up a cheap Samsung galaxy watch off FB marketplace for $70 to use for trade-in, along with $100 chat code and $150 trade in. Incidentally the watch was practically unworn, and spotless, the previous owner having received it free with a galaxy phone. Almost regretful for trading it for $10, but knowing what shite these perennially starved devices can be does help a litle

    • Just keep the watch. The penalty for not handing it in is $10 + $60 which is the amount you paid for it.

      • Then they'd lose another $70 meaning they would have paid $140 for a watch they bought only to trade in effectively cancelling out the $150 trade in bonus.

        • Ahh yes you are correct. I should go to bed.

          • @Lets Go Brandon: No, you are right. At the moment, the watch is worth $10 to me. Add another $60 and it effectively costs me $70.

            • @Cleartripe: You needed to mark the trade watch to have a screen issue. This will make the trade value to $1 and then they only take out $10 or $30(I forgot) instead of $60.

              • @kisshell9: Not sure whether it's easy to sell the older watch for anything higher than $70 right now. Especially for the older Watch 4.

                • @ktks: I have seen people here use imei generator for watches without having to buy any watch.

  • Code doesn't seem to work on S10 tabs anymore.. Giving me an error.

    • Expired at midnight I presume

      • Think it finished around 9 or 10am this morning.

Damn, looks like they fixed the trade in hack where you don't actually send in the phone and only need to pay the $60 late fee.

    • How did you find this out?

    • What do you mean fixed it? What has changed?

      • They have put a clause now that they can claw back trade in bonuses.

        • It's been there for a while as in it was there in the previous S24 deal as week a few weeks back. Not sure if it existed prior to that too

  • Chat said they can't make a $100 loyalty code without your old serial number now.

I don't have a device to trade in, so it would be $640 instead of $540 after the $60 late fee, which is much less appealing. Should I still go for it at the higher price or stretch for the iPad air m3 with free pro pencil instead? Google phone and Windows PC.

    • If you don't have anything to trade in, it's better to go with ipad air. I also have a google phone and PC, but I am getting both ipad air + tab 10s to see which one I like, because I cannot decide now haha.

  • Is it me or the S24+ can't be ordered anymore.

edit: my bad, the only colour available is Onyx Black

  • I know this has expired already.
but for those who availed of the trade in, what happens if I do not send the phone?
phone I traded in is just valued at $5.
they already secured the $5 fee from me.
    i already received the tablet. (got the S9 5G 256 for ~$770)

is it just the $5 that would be lost from my end or would there be other unknown charges afterwards?
would like to know from those who had actual experience with the trade-in program with asurion.

    thanks in advance.

    =)

    • +1

You lose $5 plus $60 for non-return and that's it

      • +1

Asurion is 3rd party company, they can only charge the penalty fee $30 / $60.

        • I dont think this is right. Did you not pay a security deposit when going through the trade in process? Theyll take that back as well (value of trade in phone +60 fee)

          • @rockthekazbah: Trade-in value was charged during your phone order in the initial transaction. I commented on com930's comment about the penalty fee when someone didn't return the trade-in device which said "… plus any bonuses value". Asurion cannot charge that "any bonuses value" when the device wasn't returned. Asurion can only charge either $30 or $60 penalty fee when it's not returned.

      • +1

Pay no mind to Samsung online chat. The internet knows more than those scriptmonkeys.

    • thank you for the clarification!

i guess i'll just send the item back as i don't want to be charged for another $60 on top of the $5 already charged for an old iPhone. =)

  • I'm actually worried about all the horror stories here about Asurion - My S21 Ultra 512GB is for $270. If I don't send it in they will keep the $270 + $60 (no return fee), is that correct?

There are other companies that rate the S21 Ultra 512GB for $350 so $20 in my pocket if I don't send it in….

    Thoughts?

    • +1

You're best off keeping the phone and selling it privately. Not worth the headache of dealing with Asurion.

      • Yeah I thought this was the general consensus about this topic, thanks for the input.

    • -1

Should have declared your S21U as "cracked screen" and only copped $30 holding fee + $60 penalty fee for not returning. That's what my friend did with his S21U.

      • That makes absolutely no difference if they declared as cracked screen or not, they would pay the same price.

Whatever amount Samsung values the phone at is deducted from the cost of new phone and a hold is put on your card for the same amount.

So you friend got $30 deducted from new phone, and had to pay asurion $30 + $60.

Exactly the same as @Krayzii who had $270 deducted from new phone and then pay asurion $270 + $60.

The only difference is if selecting cracked screen brings it down to $1. Then there is only a $30 charge instead of $60.

        • Ah true, my bad math. With my friend's case, he doesn't plan to sell his S21U as someone else in the family will use it instead, hence did the minimum cost instead. :)

  • Secret4 is the next code but the page isn’t live yet

    • Yep most likely dropping at 11am today..

      • Either Samsung stuffed up their dates, or I see a countdown timer in 2 days time

        • I think they forgot.

That countdown timer should be for the end of the sale.

        • +1

Based on Facebook Ads Library, sale starts 11AM (AEST) 8 April 2025 (so tomorrow).
