I'm really disappointed. I placed my order before I found out about the $400 voucher, which I only received via email afterward. I contacted Samsung Live Chat, but they said they can't apply the voucher to my existing order.

    Yeah, I was looking at that, but the 1TB model now isn't shipping until August 18th!
    
    And if I cancel my current order, I’m not sure how long it would take before I can go through the trade-in process again. Customer service said the trade-in would also be cancelled, and I’d have to wait for the security charge to be refunded before I can generate a new trade-in ID.

      UNFOLD2025 gives $200 bonus but you have to add min $200 (RRP) worth of accesories. Buds 3 RRP is $299, so it's enough for it to be the only add-on (both Buds or all Watches is enough). If you add, say the $39 power adapter, then you need to make up the other $161 before the code can be used (it can really be anything from their store, not only the one on the list from memory).
      If you're looking for resell value though, I'd say the Watch 8 is probably a better option at ~$400

I torn between adding samsung care+ or not. for 2 years its about $400 and then a repair is 99 or a replacement is 300. seems a bit step.

  I went with 2 years of Samsung Care+ as added insurance. Given that its a foldable, the likelihood of things going wrong are a lot higher compared to a normal phone.

    I would say that is after trade in price. I got similar price for 256gb with $1 trade in. I tried on 1TB and got it down to $1623.05 (with $530 trade in)

      TBH that should be the retail price of this phone. Samsung by inflating the retail prices and then offering all these vouchers to induce everyone to think they got a good deal. Great selling strategy I would say, which helps them to sell their accessories also.
      Just my humble opinion though and not to hurt anyone’s sentiments for their new phones :)

        I think with the current inflation and AUD keeps losing it value, phone like this will be pricey.
        Just take Iphone 16 Promax 1tb as an example, the price is $2849.

Too many compromises with Fold7. At this price, one can buy Galaxy Edge s25 (or similar) and iPad Mini which has Apple Pencil compatibility and will not drain the battery.

      I think I used it in my govt store cart it works however once the $400 trade in bonus code is entered the free ear buds product disappear in the cart.

Pen Support Gone
The Samsung casses now only cover the back of the phone and the front now only gets a screen protector.

I think I'll be holding onto my Fold 5 a LOT longer than planned

      Yeah I preferred the hidden camera on my fold 5 too. I didn’t use S Pen often but it was fun every now and then and helped me avoid touching my screen so much. Either way though I’ve ordered fold 7 512GB. Will need to find a front case though IMO. Hopefully third parties match the lines and colour of the Samsung silicone case.

  It's a hit or a miss.
  They've improved a lot on thinness and lightness, and it now has pretty much the same form factor as a normal phone.
  But they lose all the 'special' things about the Samsung fold, like the pen and the 'remote control' form factor they strongly praised in the past.
  Yep now pretty much a generic folding phone like all those Chinese foldable. The market teaches them a lesson.

  The best thing you can do is jump on the chat with Samsung and request a trade in voucher code. When you select the trade just select a watch - say a Samsung watch 5 Bluetooth. This will give you the additional tradein bonus. Don't worry and sending in the non existant watch, you will be just charged $30 (but again you will get a bonus $400 for the fold, or $250 for the flip). Add $200 or more in accessories to your cart and use the code UNFOLD2025, so get an additional $200 off.
  
  You will need to go to the standard Samsung store (Unless you have access to a EPP (Partner Portal store, like the education portal this one refers to). If you can't buy the $20 voucher which gives you $100, see if someone in the post is selling.
  
  Here is an example of how the purchase might go for a flip 7 (same as a fold 7)

There might be another discount or freebie code tonight at 6pm from the Samsung livestreams… as the title "Z Storm day" suggests. Yesterday's livestream gave out codes for a free wireless charging station with the watch 8 preorder.. but unsure if it's stackable on the edu/epp sites as yesterday's code wasn't. Either way probably good to wait until then if you haven't bought the phone yet.
