Olin OVR-101 1GB Digital Voice Recorder - VAS Voice Activated MP3 FM Radio $10 + Free Postage

700

Afternoon All,

Long time lurker first time poster so be kind! I've been in the market for a voice recorder for my mum and I know these guys had a special awhile back for an Olin 512MB for $7 delivered (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89337). I didn't bite on that deal because I wasn't sure if 512MB was going to be enough for my mum. After some time I thought what the hell it's $7 but the deal had expired. I did however find the 1GB version for $10 delivered. I'm not sure if it is a mistake but I think this price is part of a promo they having because they are displaying what they are normally charging (which is $19.95) and another of the same 1GB model for $10 delivered as some sort of GOOGLE PROMO.. Cool thing it there is no coupon needed. I've ordered some Eneloop's from them in the past and found their service pretty good. The checkout process is pretty painless as well. Please find below an overview I've taken from their website on the Olin OVR-101 1GB Digital Voice Recorder. Cheers all..

sorry hahah I linked the wrong one..

  • I'm not sure if it is a mistake but…

It's not a mistake, I got mine delivered a month+ ago. Shipping was extremely fast, less than 2 days.

I like how you can transfer the extremely small audio files to your computer with the cable they provide.
Only complaint is that it drains battery extremely quick.

  • good first post +1

  • The 512gb is great. Records voice very clearly and is easy enough to use

    • 512gb!? Woah, that must be a lot of recording

    • That's great feedback. I was thinking for 10 bucks you couldn't really go wrong but if its a good product even better. The RRP gave me a bit of a laugh..

  • I was waiting for so long for this deal to pop up! Thanks OP.

Yikes, $10 is >40% more than was charged in December, at which time the seller had 12,000 in stock!

    Still a cheap recorder.

This is the 1GB version, not the 512MB version you linked to. The 1GB was being sold for $14 last December, so this is actually ~30% cheaper. :)

      • My Bad!

  • Great post and a great price. Gonna grab a few for the family. :)

These are really really good little units, I bought one in the previous deal.

I have changed over from my Sony and Casio recorders to this Olin one, as it has superior recording sensitivity.

    • Agree'd. These are quality units.

The supplied microphone and headphones are top notch

  • Nice deal, look forward to trying it out.

  • This is a good deal. Thanks OP.

I got the earlier 512mb version to use for a language course. Very happy with it. Does excellent quality recordings.

  • Surprisingly cheap.
I found it listed for 9.95 but with P&H elsewhere too.

    Any review???

  • Thanks OP, got one. Great find!

  • thanks OP, happy with the 512MB, now ordering more of the 1GB! :)

  • So this is a voice activated recorder? It just says voice activated speaker not sure if thats the same thing…

    • +1

Yes it's voice activated. They were available (512MB version) a couple of months ago for a few $, if you purchased a HDSTB from JungleJumble. The recorders are fine. The STB unfortunately, is rubbish.

      • (STB) Good rubbish though …

The recorder needs a step by step learning how-to-use website to clear the initial learning confusion when you get it.

  • These are great. I think mine was $6 with a recoding earpiece (for phone calls).

I'll get another for the kids.

  • How are these for recording both sides of a 2-person chat, from a shirt pocket?

PS Anyone know if it.runs Rock Box?

    • The inbuilt mic is surprisingly good. It also comes with a plug-in wired clip-on mic that you could clip onto the inside of your sleeve, or anywhere for that matter.
      .

  • Thanks OP. bought two
