Has anyone used this site before? I've never heard of it.

  • They apparently have a physical store in NSW, so can't be too bad. Damn cheap for this drive.

Edit - shipping is $11, bringing total to $40. Still seems decent.

  • +1

The cheapest postage the site offered for me to Melbourne was $31 :(

I don't see any $11 postage option at the checkout?

There's no charge to pick it up from their store in NSW:

Unit 206/354 Eastern Valley Way. Chatswood, NSW 2067

    Opening Hours:
    Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm
    Saturday 9am - 3pm
Sundays and Public Holidays - Closed

    • Can the shipping charges be confirmed?
I'm not signing up to a shopping site just to get accurate shipping charges.
That’s outrageous if they are $31 to melb- are they run/owned by ShoppingSquare :-)

  • Shipping prices are indeed obscene. Cheapest to WA is $23, taking the price above other local options.

  • I'm in Melb CBD - this is what I got after signing up:

"9289 Special Zone Rate 9289 Special Zone Rate
Delivery to 3126 - next days Delivery
    (Estimated Delivery Time After Dispatching)
    1 boxes 2.5kg(s)

    Price: $11"

  • For me it says:

9289 Special Zone Rate 9289 Special Zone Rate
    Price: $31
    Delivery to 3089 - 2-9 days Delivery
    (Estimated Delivery Time After Dispatching)
    1 boxes 2.5kg(s)

Although, if I change the postcode to somewhere slightly closer to the city it changes to $11.

It's ridiculous. I'm less than 30km from the city FFS!

  • Thank you just ordered one :)

  • Hi, there might be some mistake,
Coz what I've got for shipping is like below:

    Available Shipping Methods Rates
Store Pickup (Walk In) Price: $0
9289 Special Zone Rate (Delivery to 5005 - 1-2 days Delivery
    (Estimated Delivery Time After Dispatching)
    1 boxes 2.5kg(s)) Price: $13

I think the shipping rate is depend on the location, most metropolitan have cheap shipping cost,
I've checked some postcode in SA QLD VIC & NSW, they are all about $10 ~ $15

Anyway, thanks McLarenMercedes for introducing this 9289.com.au

Hope we can get something more exiting next week…

  • +1 for the shipping being a scam
$23 to Perth for a single thumb drive
Why would you charge 2.5kg shipping for one thumb drive?
Do the thumb drives contain a significant amount of lead?

  • I'm tempted to vote -ve on the basis of the ridiculous shipping charges.
Like Crownie, this merchant is now immediately tainted with the same flavour as SSQ in my mind.
The price for this USB drive appears to be amazingly low,, but is 9289 using eBay merchant pricing strategy: disguising the true cost by baiting with a falsely low unit price, then charging apparently outrageous shipping costs which in fact represent the true purchase price?
Of course, none of the above argument applies if you live/work conveniently close enough to pick-up from site….
    [ :- { )

    • Even though they do charge outrageous shipping costs for some areas, other areas are only charged ~$8-11, making the total price a great bargain!
      + for me

      • I agreed. $8 to most Sydney CBD so it is reasonable. +ve from me.

  • +1

Now we are just waiting for someone living close to Chatswood to organise cheaper shipping for us :) Too bad I live on the southern side of the bridge and anywhere on the other side of Harbour is "way too far" for me…

  • Shipping to NSW is only $10, if these drives were any faster (a slow 16GB = nightmare) I'd buy a whole heap.

  • I am picking up my 2 today :D

  • damn, i just bought the 4gb A-DATA one from officeworks yesterday!

  • +1

I have a 4GB & 8GB drive from this Kingston DataTraveler 100 range. They're very convenient, very inexpensive and VERY slow.
As always, you get what you pay for.
    [ :- { )

    • Thanks teaearlgrey, I've been looking at the Kingston Data Traveller range to
buy an extra 8gb, I think I will go for Sandisk since you mentioned VERY slow.
The shipping cost to 3130 charged $18 is ridiculous for a small usb key, I just
ordered a camera lens from WA, ordered at 1pm Wed arrived yesterday morning 9am Thur, sent by courier and cost only $9.50. I will stick to my local MSY store.

  • Just got the delivery this morning, anyway, for this price, it's probably the best one.

    Thanks all~

  • Ordered yesterday, but got an email today to say it was out of stock and they're refunding me.
    Oh bother.

  • +1

Just got this in the mail.
Copied a 2.43 gig file in ~2 minutes and 40 seconds.
    Happy :D
