They show in stock in my area I went there they have non for me.
Same thing happened to me 3 times with my local (Rockdale, NSW) store. They always show InStock and when you go in store, they say, its not available.

OK even I went there they don't have any for me.

thanks! I also checked my invoice from when i bought the N54L and bought some ram in a bundle, and the DSE ram matches what I got in the bundle, and the bundled one works, so I think I'm sweet.

try your luck mate! get the DDR2 and DDR3..and just see if it fits…I managed to get some in WA :)
Download CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/1.63-64bits-en.zip
Run the program and click on the 'Memory' tab. Under 'Type' it will say the memory type. Eg: DDR3.

Yeah, my Click & Collect reservation was accepted but instead of receiving confirmation that my order was ready for collection, the store called me to say "no more stock" :-( and when I asked why DSE online purchasing the system allowed me to proceed with the order was told "the site is not live". Well at least they called me promptly though it was still a waste of time.
I called up and reserved one. I do however live in the middle of regional NSW so very little competition for stock.

Ordered a 4GB DIMM and 2GB SODIMM about half an hour ago for collection from my local store, which had a green "in stock" status for both.
Just received a terse voicemail message that they've sold out.
Randwick has low stock of the 4GB according to the website. I called up and after some checking (and being surprised at the price) he said they had none. Oh well.
I just got an email and sms saying ready for pick up

received a call from Box Hill(VIC) says NONE IN STOCK,
that stupid guy direct me to Fountain Gate which is like 1 hour drive!
(checked online and found more in stock like 15min driving distance)
never ever once Box Hill have ANY stocks for any clearance even when the "green tick" say it's in stock…..

DSE forcing customers to 1 is similar to selling $100 tires for $10 but only allowing a customer to buy one (you buy in pairs or a whole set!)..

Well I fell foul of the thieving DSE Staff. 2 confirmation/reservation emails. Get to the stores and apparently they have no record of my click and collect. And of course no more in stock. Only explanation they could give - someone must have deleted it. Yeah right.
Did you actually get any SMS messages or emails to say that your orders were ready for to be collected?
For reference, I got an initial reservation email, plus a ready for collection email and SMS after that.

It won't get you your cheap RAM, but it might be worth dropping a line to DSE about it, just to let them know that this kind of thing stinks.
If you got your collection messages, then there really shouldn't be any excuse for them not to have the order ready for you, unless there was a glitch somewhere along the line and the order went to a different store?

Yeah I am torn. The realist in me says don't worry about it for the sakeout of $2 RAM. But the bargain hunter in me says they owe me. And the vindictive bastard in me says make them pay for wasting my time.
Might take it to social media. It's wrong, but I don't need to profit out of it. Just make them aware it's a terrible system.
I collected my 4gb one from Macarthur Square in Sydney and I asked him if he had more available and he showed me about 20 that were on hold for store pick ups. Than I went to Campbelltown Mall as I reserved another one there and he only had mine and another one for sale.
He also told me that the RRP for these were $35. Bargain!!!!!!! Thanks OP

Even if you call they could probably still pinch it afterwards as in another (dodgy) staff member grabs it from the click and collect storage cupboard before you get there. That kind of stuff shouldn't be allowed to happen. Big lack of respect for the customer.

Disregarding the fact that most stores would probably be sold out now, if you need to ask the question then you probably don't need the RAM :)

Just picked mine up from Belconnen.
Picked up the one reserved I at Ballarat store yesterday, called Wendouuree store and they had one left so got that one as well, but not for me, they will get used to upgrade family members PC's.
I managed to score 5 2GB laptop RAM modules. I'm going to check my laptop to see how much RAM I can cram in. Does anybody know of a NAS box that takes 4 laptop RAM modules? that would be just BOSS and make my weekend. Hopefully something I can put FreeNAS on and run ZFS with my 8GB of RAM :P
I found an ITX that takes so-dimms however it sadly forces users to use 32bit OS. :@
Picked up 2 x 4Gb DDR3 desktop RAM from Cranbourne DSE 5:30PM today.
DSE website clearly showed that it was out of stock this morning but I called anyway and they had 2. I don't know if this was a cancelled reservation or not but its clear that their inventory sys is not too reliable. I didn't get anything else because there was nothing worth getting. 60km return trip probably wasn't worth it but what the hell, me want more RAM!!!.
