damn, I just bought DC44 for $430 yesterday. I don't think the dog bit and extra run time is worth the price difference. good deal.

    • Where did you get the DC44 for $430? I'm seriously considering returning this one and upgrading to the DC44, due to some of the reviews here - http://www.productreview.com.au/p/dyson-dc35.html

Good Guys. Catalogue sale price of $447 (ended on 22/4 I think) , then I got a bit extra off. Probably cos I bought a $1300 washing machine at the same time. I like to bundle, like the little fat guy from american pickers.

    • I'd like to know too. Please let us know. $430 is a good price for DC44.

  • a really noob question. how do this compare to the normal 2000W vacuum? which one suck better?

    • i like to know who sucks better too

    • +2

We have both this handheld and a full sized Dyson.
The full sized definitely sucks much better but due to the size and having to take it out and unwind the cord and plug it in, we only use the handheld now.
Like when the kids drop a biscuit and step on it.
So much easier to pull out the handheld and vacuum up the crumbs than the full sized.

      • I was wondering what would be the life of battery? 3 years max??

  • bought one thanks OP

  • i have the animal model, got it on amex loyalty points but this is such a good price i bought one for mothers day :)

  • +1

Thanks OP just bought one. Total price $299.95 included postage fee.

  • Can you buy the Mini motorised brush bar (normally included with the animal model) separately?

    • +1

I know you can buy parts and accessories from Dyson direct.

  • Thanks to the OP. Picked one up for work.

  • +1

I have the purple handheld version of this. It's the 'motorhead' one, I think it's the same as the animal one now.

It's awesome! Which? magazine (aka Choice UK) say reliability is an issue, but mine's been OK so far.

  • Price match it at Masters and get an extra 10% off.

    • +1

Looks like they'll only match the price on appliances, and not beat it by 10% at Masters.

"So if you ever find a better price on an identical item, even up to 30 days after purchase, we’ll beat it by 10%*. For appliances we’ll match it." http://miy.masters.com.au/about/masters-promise

  • Great little unit we have one and love it. Great price.

  • Not so sure if we can price match at Goodguys and got the store credit for this mothers day promotion. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/100736

  • Anyone…what is the different between dc35 and dc44

    cheers

    • dc35 animal to dc44 animal just looks like an extra docking station to charge the vacuum
dc35 to dc35 animal is the extra mini powerbrush

  • Can't resist and bought 1! Thanks OP!

  • Bought one. Was waiting for this. 14 day wait for pickup from city store.
    293 with welcome5.
    thanks

  • $293 thanks to the $5 discount thank you very much

    • Grabbed one too - very good price for this. We have a standard plug-in Dyson already, but this will certainly make it easier to clean up after the kids! Thanks for the heads-up OP - nice one :)

  • Thanks OP brought one as well

  • Can you leave the DC35 in the charging dock for long periods and not risk overcharging or is it better to switch off the mains when fully charged?

    • Using this for three months and never switched off the power.

  • Damn you!

Could not resist, been holding off buying this for a while for the Mrs,

Opted for (pretty much) free delivery too.

    Thank you!

  • Thanks OP brought one, will pick up on Saturday.
