Note: There is an additional cost of $25.00 to mark the assessment and email your Advanced Diploma Certificate.

Can you please put the actual price ($84) in the title?

  • Am I gonna get some kind of certificate once I've completed the course ?
Is it recognised by any government bodies/institutes/professional associations ?
Will it bring any added value if I want to be let's say a wedding photographer ?
    Thanks.

  • Is this a nationally recognised certification like VET? (edit: ^ beat me to it)

    • -5

This is to become a photographer, not open a VET

      • +1

        I know what you did there… :-\

        "VET = Vocational Education Training"

      • Hey easternculture, we need free eBooks for detecting jokes on internet.

    In the details:

Advanced Diploma Certificate of Achievement Awarded with a passing score (This course is not government accredited)

  • The Advanced Diploma is not government accredited, we call it an Advanced Diploma in professional Photography to highlight the level that the course goes to. In other words it teaches up to advanced levels of photography including starting your own photography business.

Some people get confused with the title, they think that as it is called an Advanced Diploma that the course is government accredited. As we are a private training organisation we are able to call it an Advanced Diploma as we are certifying the person who undertakes the study to Advanced level, providing that they pass their assessment. The government stipulates that we cannot give a non accredited course a title starting with certificate I, II, III or IV as this would breach the rules. it is a unique course created by a qualified TAFE teacher in Photography for Courses For Success.

From time to time people do ask if this course is government accredited (most people do not ask as they can tell from the price of the course that it is not) and we explain that it is not, however we provide an Advanced Diploma certificate of achievement from Courses for Success if the assessment is passed. Most government accredited courses range in price from $3000 to $4000, so it is a huge investment that is often out of reach by a large majority of people. Students can display the Advanced Diploma in their portfolio as proof that they have done a course.

The Advanced Diploma in professional photography was developed by photography experts including David Pix a qualified photography teacher at TAFE, and it has been developed to the highest standards as David has the TAE Certificate IV in Training and assessment qualification and the course is only available at Courses For Success.

I bought this course,no it is not accredited by any government, but hey it is a bit different to me because it helps with learning how to use my camera, and then goes into setting up your own photography business..not that I wanted to do that so never bothered with taking assement.I found out this course was put together by a guy called David Pix..seems to be a Tafe teacher in photography, not sure if he is still a teacher, however it looks like Courses for success have the copyright for this course as can not find sold by any one else..I could be wrong.Would I recommend it? Well yes, only problem I had was until I upgraded my internet server to adsl was no good on dial up-getting old and using dial up was behind the times and kept buffeting if the correct word! but using adsl or cable videos loads real quick now-hope that helps-hell should see if they will send me a case of beer for giving them a thumbs up!-lol

nice of you to sign up a short while ago just to tell us this …

      Captain Obvious weighs in:

Darkmonk, not to accuse you of anything but when a deal is posted by a rep for the first time and it isn't very well received, you should refrain from defending the deal too vigorously, considering your registration date and comment history.

  • +2

It is identical to the last one that was unpublished due to negative commentary. This is not an RTO and it is sleazy business practice to mislead consumers with naming conventions established by Government and Business that you just do not offer.

No-one cares if the person who developed the course has a cert 4 in training and assessment, that is a bog standard qualification. It doesn't qualify you to develop a course anyway in itself.

you should call the course what it is.

    • -1

I have bought that many as you call "sleazy" courses to make money on line that were crap and no support,I feel as a buyer of this course it was doable for me,not sticking up for the course but my daughter just paid $1750 for accredited course,to me just a cheap course, costs me $36 for a bottle of scotch-just my view!

  • Can someone living outside Australia do this course?? Would be the perfect gift

  • +1

While there is no law stipulating that you can't dress up a photography certificate as a "Diploma" I believe it is misleading to offer a course and call it as such because people automatically think it confers an academic degree offered by TAFE / Uni / gov accreddited institute.

The Canberra institute of tech offers a photography course and it is an Adv Diploma
    http://cit.edu.au/study/courses/photography_advanced_diploma

But can a private institute do the same thing?

    • Not getting on the bang wagon..but what course should I have bought for $59,bearing in mind 65 years old and just wanted to learn my camera?looked bloody cheap to me.and was helpful-that's it posting from me-all to hard

    • hell that is costs of approximately $1500 per semester associated with textbooks, Ok guess I am out of that amount of money-thanks anyway for link

    • just out of interest as a old dude that link you gave me saw you could sign up as a Educational Agents,is that what goes on here, reason ask my friend has bought a few things from Ozbargain and he found that the negative structure was sending people to a product they wanted to sell-really to me odd on that place of life-still cya all buy wisely

  • if i purchased this course, will i be able to use the certificate to apply for AIPP membership? Is this course approved by AIPP? just a curiousity.

  • We are a Private Training Organisation and have partnered with Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) and other Private Training Providers to deliver quality training courses.

This means that some of our courses are government accredited, and others are not, the accredited ones are clearly highlighted on our website.

For this particular course, The Advanced Diploma it is not government accredited and we do not state that it is in any advertising,Just to clarify, we identify the government accredited courses with the government logo for accredited courses, as per this example http://www.coursesforsuccess.com.au/products/diploma-of-occu…, you will see the upside down red and green triangle (under course summary), we do not use this logo on non accredited courses. The Advanced Diploma is a Certificate of Achievement Awarded with a passing score.

We have had a large number of people take and complete the course and we often receive very positive feedback, we have lots of testimonials/reviews that I could email you (though I don't know if this is within the privacy rules, as they are emails received from students?)

I hope this explanation clears things up for you.

Just to clarify, this course is suitable for anyone wising to learn photography from beginner to intermediate levels.

Also the assessment is an option, most people that do this course just want to learn how to use their camera and don't wish to complete the assessment.

The reason why I mentioned that the course was developed in part by a TAFE teacher is too support that the course is of a high standard. As stated we have many, many happy students who have taken the course so I will leave it up to you, now is a great time to enrol and save.

    • Why not call it a Bachelor or even a Masters? I don't care if you don't specifically say it's accredited, it's deceptive. Government really needs to crack down on the likes of you.

  • The course is delivered 100% online, so anyone can do it from any where in the world.

  • This deal is exactly the same as the lase one you published. This is spam.

Why call it an advanced diploma if it's not accredited? Why not pay less money to have access to the Kelby Training or Lynda.com videos which teach you everything you list here and more.

    • Also, the pure stupidity of this course blows my mind. If you don't know how to set your aperture or how to use white balance or even the difference between RAW and JPEG, you have no place setting up a photography business.

  • We never published the last deal, this was put up by one of your members and we had 6 people purchase the course in the first 15 mins before it was taken down.

  • This isn't a recognised qualification.

  • Pretty clear that many people, including me, have an issue with the name of this course……maybe you guys should consider renaming it to something more appropriate and trying again?

  • Sorry but I have to agree with the masses here… Negging for very misleading title.

$59 is not a bad price for a into to photography though, but that being said I question how much you can learn online over face - to - face with a professional.

    • Agree with everything you're saying. I've only gotten into photography in the last 12 months and YouTube and forums have taught me everything I know so far…I wouldn't dare classify myself a pro but I'd rather save that $59 towards my next lens.

  • This certificate is worthless and if you try and use it in any professional capacity you will get laughed at. Just make your own certificate up and print it out, it's worth the same as this useless rubbish.

6 people bought this crap in 15 minutes, wow, 6 suckers have just parted with their money for information freely available on the internet.
