  • Awesome price!

But then I went looking for reviews and most say they're comparable to using an oven anyway AND an oven has a lot more space so I'll pass on this one.

    • yeah these things are not really good at what they're supposed to do.

      • +1

        Sorry - I disagree.

They cook chips really well. I have 2.

We use them for chips, calamari, prawns and chicken mainly. They do a great job on chips.

        • thats fine but when the products main feature is "Genuine homemade and extremely tasty chips" (text copied from their website)
and you compare it to Homemade chips twice fried made at home normally there is no comparison. I supposed if they labeled it as a "No attention required oven chip maker" I would go yeah that's pretty much what it is.

I guess the main point is what does someone consider to be tasty chips really, and for me oven chips don't cut it.

How this one compared to the Philips Air-fryer?

    • +2

Theres only an air's worth of difference

You neg a deal with a comparison question?

  • +2

I rate this, I paid $199 a while back. I recommend an extended warranty if possible because the lid or arm won't last too long. I use it once a week for chips and they come out like oven cooked but no need to turn them. I think this does exactly what it's supposed to do.

  • Delivery is $22

    • That makes this deal not so good - everyday price in Big W is $198

If you live near a Big W just go pick one up

  • we have used ours heaps for baked veges, meat, and chips.
it is pretty great, but if this is an older model they are prone to breaking..

  • +1

The later model (which we have) has a black base and is a sturdier version of this one.
They both cook chips OK but it depends on the quality of the chips you start with. Like Cut your own or Supermarket frozen varieties.
You use less oil which is not a bad thing I suppose. (No oil with the frozen stuff)
I would not buy another one.
