Bought one for my wife, and 2 of their simcards - one for my wife and one for me, as we are coming off our Crazy Johns 24 month plans in about a month. I know the Kogan plan isn't 4g but at least we have the option if we want to pay for a 4g connection later. I'll be taking over her S2. Had seen the price a few days ago and wondering why not yet posted on OzBargain. Was going to post last night and ask what people thought of the deal and I saw it had just been posted. The comments helped confirmed my decision to buy - so thanks.
Never ordered from Kogan. And my wife is gonna let me get one, just need to know how they are with warranty and what sort of charger they give you? Assuming this isn't AU stock…
Never used their warranty as the phone's been fine (touch wood) but they give an adapter you can use in Australia with their charger which from memory is either a US plug or a HK/UK plug.

I have gone through their warranty process on my wife's Note (the first one).
Lodged it online, they sent a prepaid Aus Post label to print out. I packaged the phone, stuck the label on and sent it to them. Got the phone 3 weeks later fixed.
Pretty effortless process although it could have been quicker.

The prices didn't go up for the Note 2 before the free shipping.
I've got to neg you because it doesn't apply to this deal because as mentioned above the Note 2 price didn't get inflated. Therefore this is a deal because it is actually $19.00 cheaper than it was prior to this free shipping promotion.
Negging this because you want to warn us about Kogan and its past practices and that we should maybe think twice before supporting them by purchasing from them is another issue, but I choose to take the former view.

I bought 2 simcards and paid the $10. It seems the storewide free shipping doesn't apply to the simcards. Wasn't bothered enough to look into it further. I'm obviously not a true Ozbargainer.
Just had a chance to take a look. The free delivery fine print does indeed exclude the sim cards.
mine was unsealed , called kogan , they said its coming from Hongkong so they have to change some settings before they deliver me
i got it for 550$ i should have wait for bloody 1 month…Usually you can email them requesting the price difference to be refunded - I did this last year when I bought a galaxy nexus. 1 month might be too long though, but worth a shot.

Is it possible to merge all of my previously purchased apps from the Apple App Store over to the Note 2 without having to purchase them all again?
I would estimate that I have around $100 worth of apps I have purchased since owning my iPhone and it would be bad if I had to buy them all again on the new phone.

The apps you buy are specific to the platform, so the answer is no, you can't merge / convert / get credit for apps you've bought on one platform when moving to the other.

Well it looks like the price is going up at the moment, not down. It is now UP to $539 ($549 for white) plus $19 delivery ie $69 more than we paid for the grey one and $79 more for the white.
I think snappy was actually implying that a drop in aud would mean the price would go up (which is what happened). But yeah im glad I pulled the trigger when I did! We might not see a $489 delivered price for a while.
Yip, I realise that. I wasn't disagreeing with him - although a 15% price move in the product can't be attributable to the latest AUD movement. It was a general comment about how good the deal was compared to the current price - and an observation that with near-run-out models like this it is unusual to see the price going up, especially so dramatically (notwithstanding weakening AUD). I should have replied to Victorious instead of snappy.

Absolutely. What a winner - although ours hasn't gone into action yet as my wife doesn't want to use it until her cover arrives (ordered from elsewhere). Then I get to take over her old S2, upgrading from my Nexus S. Will be putting on a different ROM as I don't like the Samsung skin.
Yeah I was a bit hesistant too. Ended up ordering a case and screen protector, same day I made the kogan order, from ebay from australian seller so received within few days. Was only a couple dollars more anyway. Dont think I have enough patience to wait it out while shipped from asia.

Yep I got Aussie stock as well. Inside mine has alot of particules of dust and what not under the clear protective plastic on the phone.. Was thinking geez Samsungs standards are getting sloppy. Hmm are these related to the hard to update Telstra note 2's, given its Australian stock ? Read previously that international stock is better ? hmm not too sure about that one.

Likewise. Got my white one today - French and sealed. Just go to settings and change (a) the language and then (b) the time and date to your city. One problem is that the adapter from Kogan doesn't fit the French 2 round-prong plug on the phone charger. Anybody reckon Kogan will send a suitable adapter if asked ?
You can either
a) spend 1-2 hrs talking on the phone with the Kogan staff then wait another 3-5 days for them to send the adapter or
b) spend a couple of bucks and get one on ebay :)Turns out to be my bad. They were actually very quick to respond. They asked me to send a pic of what I got and then sent me this link. http://media.kogan.com/files/usermanuals/Charger-Adapter-Gui… Literally a matter of forcing a round peg into a square (ok, rectangular) hole !
Yep mine works great (Don't know why they didn't send that pic with the invoice- anyway the plug holds nicely (compared to the dodgy ones i've used overseas)
