  • What will make your eyes water is that a Microsoft install will represent 33% of the cost!

    • +1

Hi Vortex, the PC is On SALE not the install.
Bearing in Mind the Software including installation for $110 is a pretty fair price.
But that is not the sale item.
What do you think so far of the build price, can you comment on that please ?

      • +2

That's my point. Excellent price on hardware!

    • +2

I've stocked up on windows 8 when they were $15. You can use those upgrades for a fresh install aswel.

      • Except that expired end of Feb so can't be used anymore

    • BingLee and GoodGuys has a good price. $57, which is about as cheap you can get after the upgrade loophole.

  • -8

Just looked at computer prices at MSY and you could probably build one with same specs for ~ $200

    • +15

      AS per MSY Comment
      CPU:$59
MB with HDMI: $55 (starting price with HDMI)
      Ram: $31 for 1600Mhz RAM
SlimLine Case: They dont advertise so we say $35 for arguments sake
      Burner: $18
      HDD: $59
TOTAL Cost: $257 at MSY PARTS ONLY

Can you please confirm if this is correct ?

I have just calculated all their cheapest prices online.
Also ours is Built READY TO GO. No Build Cost:
How much does the competitor charge for the build, we need to add that as well.

Proving Our Deal is a Way Beyond your comment.

Even if you factor in the CASE and MOBO it still doesnt equate.

        • +3

Fair enough, it is helpful if you specify model and brand of the Mobo/RAM/HDD etc to make an accurate price comparison

EDIT: I take back my comments above since deal is more clear now

    • +3

Nice one VT - could to see you dealt with this BS politely…

  • My understanding of the G2020 CPU is it uses a 1333mhz FSB, so using 1600mhz ram is wasted? Not that I'm complaining, may as well get fast ram in the event you upgrade…

    • Hi CyberGenesys, yes your right, we also have the B75 MB Upgrade Option in the Upgrade area to utilise the Memory. The B75 MB has USB 3.0 Integrated as well.

  • this would be pretty good to run as a NAS/HTPC. power consumption is pretty good as well

    • Most Definitely, its a Great Size for it.

We will be posting some other ADD on OPTIONS Shortly.
They will be for CPU Upgrades to Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7.
      Give me 30Mins.

      • +2

        Rep, you said 30mins :)

      • NAS maybe not so much, depending on how much storage one needs?

How many HDDs can fit in the case?

  • Any decent gaming rigs? Remember you guys saying you were going to post up a new gaming pc after the last one but never did :)

    • Yes for sure, give me a bit f info on what type of Gaming Experience your after, I'll spec something up

      • I have a budget of $1400 max, already have monitor, mouse and keyboard, will be used mainly for gaming to play BF3 and mainly fps games and the likes along with all the up and coming games on max setting with no problems. Currently looking at PCCG pre-built gaming systems around the same price on their website but would like to buy locally since I live nearby hence the question. Thanks

  • with an upgraded video card would this be good as a HTPC?

    • Yes I can offer a Basic ATI 1GB HD5450 for $33 extra

    • +1

IMHO adding a video card is only going to cost you money with no practical benefit. The onboard video would be fine. My i3 with intel HD3000 is.

  • Hi Visiontech,

    Is this case quiet? Thanks.

  • Yes the case is quiet, if your local please visit our showroom to see one.

  • what are the dimensions of it? Im considering it as a HTPC

    • CASE: Slimline 30cm x 10Cm Gloss Black Case with 300W PSU

    • Dimensions as per packaging 442X155X349mm
      We have measured the Case at 30cm H x 10cm Deep x 42cm Wide

    • Last time I sent an email to you regarding a Mini ITX build I got nothing back…..that was over a month ago

  • -5

This system seems pretty crap in my opinion.
Save your money and spend it on a better one.

Even something like a laptop from AusPost is a good and cheaper alternative.

Hi Bich.light, consider the upgrade options on the PC if you like, it's still great.
Let me know what your after, I'm sure we can help you out !

  • +1

Man im quickly liking these budget systems, good for basic work…
just though it was worthwile linking to your last deal to compare with :D
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/97223
and so people could see how you handled your last deal…

Thanks vision tech, keep up the great work!

ohh, not really thinking about buying one… but assume the b75 is the gigabyte?, also has sata III…or the same one as last time: ASRock B75M-R2

very tempting to get it to replace the aging P4 we use as a second PC…though think a android TV stick will free up the slightly better HT p4 media centre for a second PC :D - sorry thinking out aloud…

    • +1

The B75 is also an ECS and YES SATAIII
      ECS B75H2-M3 / B75 / 2 x DDR3 / 2 x PCI-E / 2 x PCI / 1 x SATA3 / 4 x USB3.0 / HDMI / VGA / GBLAN / mAT

      • hmm only two ram slots, but still pretty happy with that given the price…

would be very tempted minus the HDD (and HDD cost) then +27 for the mobo upgrade…
could then use an OLD SSD thats not really being used.

anyways, i gotta stop looking before i seriously consider it :P 3 running PCs, a laptop and a number of tablets is enough for a family of 3+toddler!

        • +2

Hi Wisc, for you I have this Deal
Drop HDD add MB Upgrade -
YOUR FINAL PRICE: $199 inc GST Excluding Shipping.
          is this tempting Enough ?

        • -1

          you bastar……is swaring banded here?

got to say your doing a fantastic job working with the community, may large profit(made up of many many small sales) fall from the sky to your feet… while i contemplate the android TV stick or upgrading the daughters computer…
The quad core android TV stick's are looking too good at the moment, but think i'll fold on something like this next deal in a month or so's time. I MUST be strong.
actually a non slim case would be better for full height graphics card addons in future too :) these are great for Media PCs and look prettier etc though.

        • This is very tempting

        • I might go for this. And how much with i3 instead of the G2020

        • i3 is $65 as mentioned on the product page

  • which one of these would be better. I'm not fussed about the hard drive

    http://www.visiontech.com.au/computers/desktops/the-get-smar…

    http://www.visiontech.com.au/vision-tech-g-series-887

    Which has the better CPU?

  • Definitely the G2020 Pentium Dual Core 2.9Ghz vs the Get Smart PC is a G1610 Dual Core 2.6Ghz

    • thanks, how much extra for a 7200 rpm hard drive?

      • UPGRADE 500GB 5400RPM TO The Below —
        Seagate 500GB 7200 RM - Add: $29
        Toshiba 1TB 7200 RPM - Add: $37
These are priced according to this PC Build ONLY !

  • Hello Rep,

I would like to connect dual monitor and replace HD with a small SSD

    Ram - upgrade to Max

    Can you assist

    Arun

  • If I took the Motherboard upgrade and wanted to add dedicated gfx in the future, does the m/b and case support all the popular dedicated gfx?

    • This isn't a good start for a gaming pc. If you want a system that can take upgrades, choose a system with a bigger case and a higher wattage power supply.

You could in theory add in a gfx card to this pc but it'll have to be low power (req. less 300w) and fairly small (due to case size restriction and generic power supply). A low end card however has little practical benefit.

        Thanks for the help!
I'm torn between fantasy (awesome gaming rig) and reality (I don't have time to play games)

  • Got really long working days @ Gosford store ;)

    ie: 12AM to 5pm

    • Hey! We're lucky it opens at all. Have you seen Gosford lately? 75% of the CBD doesn't open at all. These really are generous business hours :)

  • Can you spec us a monster gaming rig brah.

  • More OzBargain specials please Rep! The Central Coast needs bargains, maybe I could actually purchase from a bricks and mortar store again, first time in years. Prices have always been terrible up here.

This is a great deal, unfortunately I have no need for it. Was tempted to get it just for parts lol.

    • Was tempted to get it just for parts lol.

If you want parts, i recommend the Trading forum @ forums.overclockers.com.au
You have to be a member of at least 90 days to access the forum

Parts are usually second hand but can get for bargain prices (Cheaper than ebay)
Ive seen 1TB HDD sell for $25 - $35 on their
Ive traded over $5000 their already (buy and sell)

      • Yeah I do use trading forums on OCAU from time to time. Haven't traded $5000 worth but would certainly be over $2500 I'd say. Have been with OCAU since their beginnings, in fact I think the only reason I frequent their forums less these days is because of OzBargain :)

    • Let me know what you are after, I'm sure we can help out.

      Email us or call us.

      • No immediate need for items but I do have a few things on my Evernote "PC Wishlist" that I'll be buying as money permits so I'll take you up on that offer thanks.

  • crap, couldn't you have done this deal yesterday? :) I just spent $300 on parts for a similar system, sans memory, hard drive (albeit with a better case and power supply). Doh!

    • sorry getho, keep us in mind for nex time we have been posting great deals for a while.

  • Need advise here. For NAS, do you think http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/102551 is more value for money in term of specs and scalability than Vision Tech G2020 Series PC Special?

    • I haven't seen an answer to my above question about number of bays for this computer, but the HP microserver holds 4 out of the box, plus can squeeze in two more with some fiddling. However this computer is more customisable and upgradeable with a gruntier CPU. But you don't really need that if all you're serving is files with no processing.

      • Salem, you are correct. The only different is the number of bay. If only, this system can fit 2-3 HDD, I would be really happy.

        • Hi Ashura,

The case is micro ATX and low profile. It can only fit one optical drive and two 3.5" hard drives.

          Thanks

  • +1

    Is it actually NEW?
Worrying comments elsewhere on the forums of this site

    Hi Vision Tech,
could you please confirm that all the parts in this computer are brand new?

(i.e That they have not been used by anyone in this computer or any other computer, except for perhaps a few minutes of testing?)

Since I haven't heard of you before, I did some research and found this:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86409
He claims that he and another person both received from you a computer with used parts.

Also, could you give us some idea of why you're able to sell the computer at such a good price?

No offence - just need to be sure of what I'm getting.
I've joined up just to ask this question.

I note you've answered quite a few questions on here so I assume you will be able to answer this one.

Thanks alot - looks like a great deal so far!
(I'm only a student and will have to go into debt for a couple of weeks, so I need to be sure.)

  • +1

You have not answered my question.
    Why is that?

    • Hi Zenji, Your Question to be answered as follows.

      1. all out parts are brand new as mentioned in previous post, please see comments from us and other customers responding the claim who claimed for it to be second hand then proved otherwise, that user has been linked to a competitor where the competitor has now been band from Ozbargain Permanently for Socketpuppeting.I hope this answers your questions or fears.
      • For clarity, there was 1 comment on that thread that was found to be posted by a competitor. The thread is legitimate. The thread and the remaining comments appear to be from long time OzBargain users.

        • good job brother - the people keepin' it real

        • Hi all , I am the original poster of that thread: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86409. And I am not "Banned" from Ozbargain site at all.

Thanks to the mod for clarifying that my thread is legitimate.

I stand by what I have said in that thread, and the pictures attached in that thread is the strongest evidence against them. The "brand new" PC I bought in 2012 contains a 2009 model HDD.

I am not their competitor but a genuine customer (But because of this, my first time buying something from them is the last time that I bought something from them) and I am not sure who is using my thread for "Socket puppeting" purposes.

Again, in this thread, I am disappointed by their explanation, instead of admitting to their mistake, they give multiple excuses again and again. If you read my thread in detail, you can see that they are rude in their reply as well.

The lessons I have learnt: (Can be used for this vendor and others)

          1. Check all goods are as described before leaving their shop
          2. Check online forums for feedback on vendors before committing to buy from them. (There maybe positives and negatives comments for all these vendors. Read all available comments and make your informed decisions)

Finally, I hope that zenji's problem is solved to his satisfaction, if it's still unsolved, just treat it as paying some lesson fees..

I am also copying this reply in my thread for record purposes.

  • HI All, stock is now down to less than a dozen.

We may have to expire the ad by midday tomorrow as all the current build stock will be sold out at this Price Point.

  • Stand by for some information about Vision Tech and their customer service.

    • Standing by.

  • CONSUMER ADVISORY: Police involvement, computer held 'to ransom', very aggressive and dishonest behaviour

Before having any dealings with this company I would urge you to PM me - I will be happy to chat with you on the phone or skype about a very bad experience I've had with them.

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a company and in all SINCERITY I would be happy to help other people avoid the problems I've had.

Not only are they dishonest, but they are positively aggressive.

(For example, they reported me to Fairfield Police - completley wasting police time - because I told them in an email that I would publicise their actions. Needless to say, nothing came of it. They are currently holding my computer effectively for 'ransom', trying to charge me for fixing a fault that was there when it arrived. (I have witnesses to this.) They won't even use their standard courier service to send it back to me - even though I've offered to pay in advance just to get this over with. They are saying I have to pick it up - which they know is a three hour round trip for me, with two trains and four buses.)

(If you check other posts about them on this forum, you will see that acting aggressively towards anyone who complains publicly about them is part of their M.O.)

I am currently just trying to get my computer back from them. I am happy to pay just to get it over with.

However the next step will be to get that money back via a hearing at either the CTTT or perhaps even the local court (I've been told that may be necessary).

Eventually I will publish online the outcome of this legal action, so that people will have hard evidence that they can see for themselves about the way this company behaves towards its customers.

In the meantime, I am happy to talk IN PERSON to anyone who wants to get the FACTS about this company before they consider dealing with them.

(Sometimes I know that on forums people are more interested in creating an argument than getting the facts. This is why I have offered to speak to people on the phone about this. I hope that is an indicator of my sincerity about it. The behaviour of this company is something people NEED to know about before risking going through what I've gone through.)

  • FAIR TRADING ADVISES I CALL THE POLICE
AFTER VISION TECH KEEPS MY COMPUTER, SENT IN TO THEM FOR REPAIR

Vision Tech has decided to keep my computer that I returned to them for repair.
Fair Trading told me that this is now likely a police matter.

    *
I advised Vision Tech (in writing) I would pay for repairs under duress and seek redress later through CTTT.

    They have informed me:
    - they are keeping the computer I bought
    - they are refunding my money

F.T advises that this is effectively theft.
(It is rather like stealing someone's property and then choosing the amount of compensation you will give them for the loss).

I am currently considering whether to take this further with the police - a fairly time-consuming process - or just seek a CTTT hearing.

Regardless of final outcome of police involvedment, F.T advises that it is consumers choice whether to get a refund. Vendor can't just elect to keep the PC, because it is now mine.

Earlier the computer had arrived with a faulty USB. This was tested at least a day before case was ever opened to install hardware. (The fault was discovered when I tested my XP USB installer. One port worked, the other didn't.) It was also tested AFTER I installed windows. Only THEN did we open case to install SSD, and we went NOWHERE NEAR USB. I have a witness to all this, who works in IT.

I put it in for repairs and they claimed it was me who 'broke it' while installing SSD (an absurdity). They refused to return it unless I paid $55.

After I threatened publicity in an email, they tried to get Fairfield Police involved! (Unbelievable).

I publicised their actions on public forums, and they've now responded by keeping my computer and claiming they will refund me.

Regardless of ANYTHING I may have said to them or anyone else, they have no right to effectively steal my computer.

DEAL with these people at your own risk: if you give them your computer for repair and they feel offended by the manner with which you approach them, they may just keep it.

  • more info will follow

  • FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THIS COMPANY.

I have checked ASIC records and the public may be interested to know the owners are associated with the following companies:
    * Vision Tech
    * Laptop Factory Outlet
    * Pro IT

  • Vision Tech's 'forced reclamation/'forced refund'/'theft' of PC:
a full account (complete with attacks from various pro-industry trolls!) can be found here:
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2105526

If you read it I would suggest you focus on facts claimed
within the posts by myself, my flatmate (SuperfastMonkkey) and Vision Tech.

Many of the other comments can't even correctly quote what we actually said :)

  • PROVIDING NEW EVIDENCE ABOUT HIGHLY DUBIOUS NATURE
OF THE CLAIM BY VISION TECH THAT I BROKE THE USB BY FITTING the SSD

It is a deliberate lie and these photos show why.

The whole basis of Vision Tech's dispute with me was that they were claiming that
we damaged the USB when we installed the SSD.

(Whereas I said that it was faulty when I first opened the box and tested my Xp-Install-on-a-stick.)

I have now tracked down multiple images of the computer case.

They clearly show that the idea that installing the SSD could POSSIBLY have damaged the USB is far-fetched to say the least:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/56951993@N03/sets/7215763391081…

Indeed, I would ask the question:
on what ~honest~ basis could one draw such a conclusion?

It does not take a super-paranoid person to wonder if this was one reason they were not keen to return the case: it would have enabled me to show what I've now shown through the use of those pictures.

  • +1

Dude, just take the money and run if your that P/O with them…
    why are you stressing yourself?

I don't know about the aggressive behavior, just post your whirlpool link if they post again and let people make up there own mind…
