This is even cheaper than Toy camcorder.

    umm…

  • …that's 90% cheaper than an lcd attachment for the Sony Action Cam alone!
If only there was a way to hack it to fit :)

1.3MP High Definition?? I can't find anything not in High Definition then

    • Anything >1280x720 resolution is considered HD.

    • 1.3MP High Definition??

It does 1280 x 1025 which is 4:3 aspect HD.

      Widescreen HD is only 1280 x 720

  • Plenty of them around Canberra too.

Might as well buy one and stick it to an RC plane; at this price I'll probably spend more fixing the plane after a crash than I spent on the camera.

Or just buy an RC helicopter camera for ~$35.

"Nobody has time for DIY these days"

        You obviously haven't visited hackaday.com

  • Yeah saw a pile at Rhodes DSE. It's alright for young kids, but anybody who has a P&S or even a phone camera can take videos already.

    • Most phone cameras are terrible in low light due to the small lens. This will probably produce better-quality images/video in low light.

That said, it's pretty low on features. 4x digital zoom is about all there is. I always cringe when I see claims like "can take 5MP images (interpolated)".

Apparently you can take stills with it as well, although I couldn't see an identifiable shutter button in the images on the DSE website.

seen these at almost every DSE I've been to. A piece of rubbish IMO

    Gone

    • +1

      Except it hasn't?

  • With one of these, $20, and a pot of curry, you could own Bollywood…

    • +1

      What's the $20 for? Bribes?

      • +2

        Budget.

      • +1

        Toilet paper

        • Bucket, ladle and left hand.
NB: Never shake hands with a left-handed Indian.

it's crap, better save your money

  • +1

    Pass. Looks like rubbish.

  • Anyone found any video footage of it uploaded any where?

  • I'm voting it down for the following reason….

It is seriously rubbish. I just bought one from Vic Gardens. It's going to be returned later today. The quality is like from a mobile phone from 5 years ago. There's also a weird sound interference all over the audio. Lastly, there's an image of a printed circuit board imposed onto all the footage you shoot of bright backgrounds. Thanks to the OP for posting though. I always look forward to theearth's posts and this thing would have been great if it worked ok.

    • I bought one just now and yer it has this static sound on the audio :/

This camera is junk but hey its is only 10 bucks, it had a price tag on it of $39.95 :o

Any mobile phone would do the same job and as a plus would have a rechargeable battery
as this camera takes expensive AAA batteries, I bought it knowing I have AAA rechargeables

    • @Wonder man,

I am so sorry that my post is causing you a headache.

      Thanks for your kind support.

      Have a good evening

      Kind regards

  • Im negging it as honestly I threw $10 away, the camera is useless and it is too light as a door stop or a paper weight!

I honestly dont know what DSE was thinking selling these.

    • I honestly dont know what DSE was thinking selling these.

They were thinking that people would buy them….. and….. guess what

  • Well, if you're going to buy a cheap camera, at least choose one with a decent name….like Leica ($1 -pricing error, actual price $1723 when you click "buy")

    http://elitecameras.com.au/product/leica-x2-black-digital-ca…

    • As if they're going to honour that pricing error.

  • Bought two for my nephews. At least I'll look like I made an effort to buy them something nice… Until they turn them on.
