estimated delivery to postcode 2000 is

    Australia Post eParcel - $8.75
Australia Post eParcel + Insurance Cover - $24.95

only 20 units available… at this price the 1 hour deal won't quite last that long

  • +5

Good price, I am putting a bet this deal will last for less than 1 minute on Sunday!!!

    • Should be called 'the mad minute' rather that the 'epic hour'

  • +1

Good deal, will have to try and remember this on Sunday now…..my son wants one for his birthday. Thanks

  • Is everyone dumping Nexus 7 stock because of I/O?
    edit: still a great deal

    • -2

yep (expecting one), it's been a year since the first one was announced.

    • +1

google I/O is over now no?

      • -2

ends on friday, it's still thursday in the US

        • +4

True however there are no keynote speeches remaining.
Highly unlikely a new model will be announced at Google IO

        • +1

There is a strong rumor that a slightly updated model will come out featuring a notification light and possibly better specs.
Watch the Hangouts video on YouTube and you'll see that the Nexus 7 on there has a notification light.

          It's about 20 seconds in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkpjZ7oA_Qg

        • Well spotted!

        • -1

AFAIK this rumor was dispelled… The Nexus 4 is being used upside down and running ICS so I wouldn't put too much faith in the accuracy of this video.

        • That's not ICS. That's at least JB:

          • It's got the JB dismiss all notifications icon
          • It's got the JB expandable notifications

Expect the website to be OzBargained COTD style - good luck as yoou will need it!

    • This is much better than COTD because they have the decency to tell you how much stock is up for grabs.

EDIT: Uh… didn't quite read that properly, but my comment still stands.

  • +1

    now thats a bargain !

  • Not cheapest ever.. bought this tab for $199 in dec 12 at ple.

    • +1

      16GB version?

    • +2

      Not exactly the same deal;
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86762

This required an additional purchase of $299 to qualify for the $199 price. So unless you wanted $300 of other stuff anyway you were not able to get this for $199.

      • Bought 320$ worth of gift card at 5% off. One of the best bargains I had last year.

  • Idk if its aus stock warrenty, Officeworks price match it.

    • +2

If you can price match on Sunday night at 8pm and get in before the whole minute this will take to sell out then go right ahead and price match.
      aint gunna happen buddy.

      • Will people live in Perth have a chance doing that?

    • +1

It is Australian stock with GST and standard Australian warranty.
But i doubt OW will price match an 1 hour special deal. Especially on a Sunday night at 8 pm

  • +1

Well… at that price… gonna have to try and get one, Buckley's chance or not.

  • +3

Go mad at the computer for 1 hour on my sunday night or wait 1-2 weeks for everyone else to sell it for same price.

Think i will enjoy my sunday night thanks :)

  • +1

    Self imposed DDOS attack?

  • +1

20 units.. I doubt it will last more than 15 seconds

  • +8

20 units ? is this real life ?

    not a deal !

    • :D

    • +9

Yes I hate companies that do this a small bargain as an advertising stunt! There should be a law against it saying they can't advertise it unless they are going to sell a substantial quantity at that price.

That's why I refuse to buy on COTD for their Christmas sale stunt oh we have 1 ipad 3 for $99 !!!
While we get 1 million users on our site all trying to get it and the page doesn't load in the meantime why don't you look at all of our other crappy 1000% profit products.

      • They didnt publicly advertise this!
        An ozbargain user posted this!
And according to the deal posting guide-line any deal with more than 10 instock at a good price qualify as a bargain.

        • +2

Yeah..I doubt they would do a deal for their online store and tell no one.

        • The fact is they dont, they get enough good publicity from other deal that their REPRESENTATIVE actually post and promote.
I a fan on their facebook page and its not even on there.

  • Wondering if this promo will have a negative or postive effect in the end.

  • +2

56 likes but only 20 tablets.

  • +2

    20 tablets only. No bargain.

  • I also refuse to play the COTD game when they do their pricing stunts but these deals are better. I've bought things before from Shoppingexpress on their Epic hour with low quantities and managed to get one. It's not nearly as bad as COTD. I'll admit 20 is not a lot but at least they are up front about it.

    • +6

This is true although the whole scheme in the first place is purely for advertising and not to actually give people a good deal and its for this reason I don't like any site that does this.

  • +6

Can you guys see what's happening here. Bing Lee sells the 16GB unit for $199. So the folks at Shopping Express think…hmmm, how do we compete.

I know, let's offer the 32GB unit at the same price and only 20 units.

Most Bing Lee prospects would think…I will wait for the 32GB unit…we all know by Sunday, this would have had 150+ +'s and every Ozbargainer will sit in line to grab one.

    Clever…

  • +1

only 20 tablets? LOL, man they are really taking this viral marketing to a whole new level.

  • if you are going to have only have 20 units, i would expect a bargain, something like 150 bucks for the 32gb unit.
bit like those amex gold class tickets, 4 for 40 bucks..now, thats a bargain

  • Not a bargain, more like a gamble.

    • -4

How exactly is it a gamble? What money or wager are you putting down? NOTHING

      • You are gambling your time.
Me, I have better things to do than wait around for this on Sunday evening.
And looks like I am not alone.

        • +1

A gamble is a game of chance. This goes to the FIRST 20, and that number was transparent. It may seem like a gamble but it aint by technical definition.

      • Don't know about you mate but time = money

I am 'putting down' my time which in turn equals my money to try and get this deal of 1 of 20, against the odds of I don't know 10,000 people? Already 2500 clicks. Not to mention those who are geared up for this kind of thing I.e. multiple browsers, PC's, ultra fast connection etc.

      • BTW the neg is also because I will not support a company that uses these cheap tactics to get over their rivals. We have great companies on this site that hold genuine bargains with fair quantities I.e, beat the bomb, mighty ape, mobileciti

All my support (and money!) Will go to someone else.

  • -1

Not really a bargain at all, got my nexus 32gb like 6months ago for 199, now that was a bargain.

    • you were quick to edit you comment

      • Yeh didn't see that "hidden cost". Kinda like them roadside speeding cameras.

        • Did you also happen to spend $300 on gift card @PLE to get your $199 Nexus 7?

        • nope

  • -1

    dirty sales trick…neg

  • +1

Not negging shopping express themselves, but with all the people waiting for a tablet and only 20 in stock, this isn't really going to be a bargain as much as frustration for the vast majority.

  • Well… I also think this is not a deal. Seems just taking advantage of us :(

  • +1

Pretty ironic that over 2/3rds of the pos voters instantly have zero chance of buying this. And the less than 1/3rd that do have a chance, the chance of scoring this is close to zero.

  • Stupid. Not a bargain. 20 units isn't sale worthy. More of a clearance.

  • Very baity

  • Highly unreliable and frustrating kind of deal.

  • Not a bargain a waste of time
Update title to say Quantity of 20 units only,

  • 20 tablets only. Bait!

  • how is this kind of deal even allowed? i mean isn't the point of ozbargain to allow people to share bargains which are accessible to others? 20 units is hardly what i'd consider accessible…

  • i agree. 20 tablets is the bait

  • +1

Eventually, with all the argument, another 30 mins for the battle. Aim is to add your one into shopping cart. I guest they may have more than 20 units. Worth to try once, if you really need it.Thank you.

  • +1

Wow, I think I just got one.

    • +1

Yeh, managed to check out. Now to see if order is cancelled a-la DX style.

  • +1

Laughs crazily "This seller does not accept non-instant PayPal payments."

  • +1

    4 min past. still available

    • Haha, it was funny leading up the 8pm, the server slowed down a fair bit. Refreshing went from ~5s to ~20s.

  • +1

    Now, all gone I think.

Sorry. We don't have enough 'ASUS-1B066A' in stock to fulfill your order. Please change the qty on order in your shopping cart to a lower number and click update. Then try to checkout again.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you angry or uncomfortable by posting this deal. Thank you for your all comments.

    • +1

I, for one, am glad you posted the deal. While it is understandable that many people have been burnt by past experiences with other sellers, I think Shopping Express's reputation has been pretty good leading up till now. The post has followed all OzB guidelines, there's nothing to be ashamed of.

  • +1

Add to cart is disappeared, looks like its gone

    Totally unreliable deal.

  • +2

Thanks for posting this deal, WNK. 20 may not be a lot, but its a great price for 20 people who manage to get it. The price was not that huge of a saving to warrant so much hate.

    • +1

Nah, for me at least no hate for Shopping Express and definitely no hate for WNK for posting. Just negging a deal when I don't think it's one, but just for the specific deal.

WNK thanks for taking the chance to share.

  • silly deal…why only 20 and that too only for 1 hour?
