thought this was 3G would have jumped on it!

Argh, I use my 4G phone as a wireless hotspot. Or buy a 4G hotspot device.

Really want to get it but Google I/O is in less than a week.

great price but it's probably better to see what the next one is like

Paid $300 for mine when they came out and do not regret it at all. Awesome little tablet.

  • Excellent tablet, got mine back in December for $265 with the ebgames reciept that was here.

    • That's what i use mine for, i have had 2 replaced under warranty for faulty batteries.

Mate pretty sure there are better paperweights you can use - a tablet's too big..how bout, i don't know…an iphone????????

        • Sent from my Nexus 7

        • +16

Personally, I use Beats by Dre as my paperweight

        lol

Acer just release an ipad mini speced tablet A1 8gb for $169 not long ago (on sale in June) so I won't buy this till it drops to $169ish. I'm guessinge the next nexus 7 will be priced at around $200- $249 for 16gb.

  • +1

It is a good price… Especially since my Toshiba thrive is feeling rather slow at present

    • +4

Lol, it's not really thriving is it?

      • Unfortunately not….I've had it for almost 18 months now but the lack of a jelly bean upgrade means feels very sluggish compared to my galaxy nexus.

      delivery is free

not bad, i am pretty happy with my Nexus 7 16 gigs. The only thing i wish the Nexus 7 has is a microSD card reader and MHL cable support.

  • In Stock does not 100% guarantee you'll get the item

  • Hmmm… buy now or wait for newer model.

    • +2

This question will hunt us for the rest of our lives!!

      • Happy hunting!

    • +1

      Buy now. Ask questions later:p

    • When the next model will probably be announced in less than a week, I say wait.

  • Possibly not the best price lately? i grabbed this 32gb nexus a few weeks back for $204.25 pricematching techrific via OW

    • +1

not every one would be successful price matching techrific. There is only a small chance that it would work

      • True. I've had luck with most price matches at bondi, nsw if anyone wanted to try!

GREAT Deal. I got this a month ago for $230 and thought I had landed a good deal, so this is really good. For those who want 3G, it isnt worth paying the extra unless you don't have a smartphone. work out a deal with your telco and just use your phone as a hotspot, I made the mistake of buying a 3G PS Vita and I have never needed to use it cause i've always had my phone on me. Just a personal experience that i'm sure others have experienced as well. :)

    • +3

I use my Nexus 7 32GB all the time on the train using my wifi hotspot on my HTC phone, works just the same as having a dedicated 3g/4g sim in the device pretty much. So I support this comment 100%.

    • +7

I would agree, but a crucial disadvantage to note with tethering from a smartphone, is battery drain.

    • +1

Yeah, I'm kicking myself for getting the 16GB WiFi Nexus - I miss my 'always on' 3G that my iPad has.
While I could tether; I don't really want to drain the battery on both phone and tablet.

Especially with Telstra coming out with shared data plans 'soon'.

  • Can i click and collect this item today?

    • looks like it is still only available online

  • So very very tempting but I must resist and save my pennies for the Nexus 7v2.

  • Does the Woolworths Staff Discount Card still work at Dick Smith?
