OK folks here what u do

GO to EB GAMES this thurs and get XBOX ARCADE + HALO WARS for $289 price matched from (game http://www.ecogamer.com/images/stories/bargains09/2009-02-18…)

then trade back halowars on the spot back to EB and they'll give ya $93.50 with edge card or $85 if you don't on (http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/6996/p1802092209rt1.jpg)

so making it $196.50 for

3. trade in halowars for $93.50 or $85 and then just sell it to someone buying a game or another person buying 360 for 5 bucks less —————making it $245ish for a PRO X360 +60GB hard drive ^_^
4. If you don't want the hard drive u can ebay it again for an easy $99 which makes the core console costing only $145 ish ahahaha

Only for folks that really wanna save money lol!

I personally just gonna resell the guitar hero + guitar on ebay for about 90 bucks so my 360pro +60gb will only cost me $245ish

      so pretty much u can finish halowars and take it back

      Store credit is fine with me, u can just sell it to someone on the spot for lik $5 bucks less which makes it $201.5 or $209 for people without edge card. If you're the quiet type then just sell to a friend or ebay it :P

      I'm gonna trade in some old ps2 games i have to get more trade in value :)

    Add a new 60gb HDD for $120 (jb hi fi price)

    = $550

    Nearly the same cost as a PS3 that comes with all of the above included AND comes with a blu-ray player so your HD tv is actually used!

      wireless adapter is useless, just use lan cable ?

      u can get live gold from big w for around $70 + it's your choice if you want to go live or not. Many games are single player and r still plently fun without live.

        i live in a decent size house, i would need a 40m lan cable to get from my modem downstairs to my plasma upstairs

          Please don't turn this into a PS3 vs 360 thread. Keep in mind that not everyone needs wireless or a hard drive.

          If you want a wireless 360, you can get a $50 wireless router (Linksys) and turn it into a wireless bridge with DD-WRT firmware.

          I agree that you need a 60GB for installing games.

          So $200 for Arcade + $50 for wireless + $70 for XBOX LIVE + $120 for HDD = $440 (still a bit cheaper than PS3)

          $320 if you don't want the HDD.

          Sure, you don't get a Blu-ray but if you're not a movie buff, it's probably not that important anyway until they become as cheap as DVDs & DVD players.

          And how is your HDTV not being used if you don't have a Blu-ray? The 360 is in HD.

    Could you pull a cheeky on EB multiple times? IF say you bought halo wars, for 79 from Game (what its advertised as now) and went to EB and traded it in, for $93.50, could you do that multiple times and just amass a nice little pile of extra credit for free?? Also, i just bought a 2nd had 360, should i get a 20gb or 60 or even! 120gb hd for it??

          And depending on the game, load times can be a lot quicker when installed to the hard drive, eg FIFA09.

      Let's give this idea a workout…

      Buy HALO Wars at GAME for $79 (out of pocket)

      Go to EB Games and trade it in for $93.50 (store credit)
      Buy Xbox 360 + Halo Wars - Price matched with GAME $289 less store credit ($93.50) = $195.50 (out of pocket)

      So now you are out of pocket for 195.50+79 = $274.50

      Now go to GAME and return the game to get your money back.

      Out of pocket = $195.50

      I'm not sure what the rules are, but the prices provided do say "trade back" so they may treat it differently to a normal trade in. But I do tend to spot technicalities in a lot of things so it could be nothing.

        But again, it depends what the conditions are. There's also probably conditions to the general trade ins too - I wouldn't know as I have never done one.

    it really depend on the manufacturer day, i had firend bought acrade pack (the one come with sonic the game), it is not the japser, so if you wanna make sure u geting the jasper, look at the power out, it should be 155w, not 175w(falcon)

    The Guitar Hero 3 deal seems a bit of a stretch.
    eBay has fees, buyers are not trustworthy to pay, it will take some of your time and $$$ to sell on eBay.
    I already have GH 3 and don't need another one.

    I found EB have another deal but you have to wait till Resident Evil 5 comes out on March 13th- a litte longer than Thursday :-(
    For $569 you get an Elite RED 120GB Xbox 360 with RE:5, Halo Wars, and what looks like Street Fighter 4.

    Just called EB Perth and they said that the Guitar Hero pack is ending today. They also said that there was a bundle featuring the 60 gig console, Halo Wars and Assassins Creed, and that you could simply trade Halo Wars and AC in to reduce the price off the Console (he estimated $15 for AC and of course $85 for HW). That leaves you with a pro console for ~$300. I asked a few times to make sure that this was possible. Hope this helps.

      On JB-Hifi's web page in the $449 deal they actually don't mention the Halo Wars at all. I called to Melbourne city store and they said I wouldn't get the HW with that deal. I was ready to go to match that deal to local EB Games, but I would need a source that clearly says all those games AND Halo Wars. Anyone know where I could find that to print off?

    I didnt bother at first thinking AC & PES2008 would be $5 trade in games….. BUT..

    Trade back price for:
    Assassin creed = 22
    PES 2008 = 15
    HALO WARS = 85

    Which means Pro console for $277!!!!

    Its getting cheaper and cheaper

    Just to let you know I went into JB there today just to have a look and spoke to a guy there, he said that an even better deal is coming out next week on the release of the catalogue (Wednesday?). The deal follows as:

    …… For $399, thats right 5 games for the same price. Well thats what he said anyway, he was a bit sketchy on the games but this is what he believed anyway. So those of use who wait till next week may get an even better deal

      It doesn't not until next weeks catalogue, and this is only from what the guy told me. But he sounded like he knew what he was on about. He said it was $399 with 5 games, and was pretty sure those were the games.
