Closing down Harvey Norman - Brisbane CBD - Printers 40% off, Keyboards and Mouse 20% off, etc

91

Harvey Norman in Brisbane CBD is closing down due to the building managers wanting to refurbish the area. They have no were to go so they want to get rid of stuff instead of transferring them.

We all know how expensive they sell their things but some are cheaper.

As an example.
Canon Pixma printer MG6360 is $269 less 40% = $161.40 less cashback of $50 = $111.40

Microsoft keyboard and mouse is 20% off and another 30% cashback so it is 50% off.

Monitors are 20% off but I find their monitors more expensive than Umart or MSY.

Even appliances are discounted but can't recall by how much.

I just bought the Samsung portable USB 3 dvd burner for $30. One guy didn't want to price match umart so I asked another and he was happy to do it.

  • 20+30% is about 44-46% off

you dont add percentages like that

      furythree is right.

      50% + 50% isn't 100% discount, it's 75% of the original purchase price.

ms cashback (if this is what he's talking about) is off the retail price, regardless of what you actually pay for it.

Maybe in a lot of things 20+30 = 44-46% off. In this case it is 20% off the price for Harvey norman discount and MS cashback is 30% off RRP and not 30% off what you paid.

cashback is on rrp, he was actually right

  • One guy didn't want to price match umart so I asked another and he was happy to do it.

LOL…hopeless> do they want to move it or ?

Often discounting/price matching depends more on the mood of the salesperson rather than store policy.

  • Interesting, any news on other products ie tvs, laptops etc?

    • +2

TV had big signs of prices but does not say how many percentage off. Didn't look at other things. I recall seeing networking products 20%.

  • So is it all printers 40% off?

    • +2

It says 40% off all stocked printers. My interpretation is as it is floor stock then it is 40% off.

  • how about GPS?which store u a referring to?
    thanks

    • Sorry don't know about them. It is in Brisbane CBD at Broadway Queen st.

  • Went in hoping to get a Galaxy Note 8 for the same price as MobileCiti ($398). This is the price that was posted on Ozbargain but I missed that one.

Salesperson gave me some BS excuse about "Samsung rebating them for sales during that period". Flat out refused to negotiate.

    No wonder they're closing.

Lol you should've just laughed in their face then walked out, that's what I'd do

If only every store was closing.

  • Got the Pioneer VSX827 7.1 channel receiver for $543 - AND it includes the free 3D bluray player BDP-150. See http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/100361 for the last time it was on special. Had to ask about the BDP, but they had no problem adding it to the deal. I had $280 in birthday money, so BARGAIN!
I think there's one left in the box, one on display.

  • Surprised they didn't blame internet shopping as the reason for closing this store

    • Or yelling at people in the store for 'taking advantage'

  • Just went in, no discounts on hard drives (reason I went to look!)
    Small appliances were 15% off
    Photo frames 50% off
Remote controlled toys (only small selection) 30% off - not sure if they were good value or not
Various 'discounts' on laptops and pc systems (and some discounts were very small amounts to the ticketed price)
