  • good monitor?

    • Yep, I bought one a few months back and haven't been able to fault it. Tempted to buy a 2nd one at this price :)

      • +1

I like your ass ass ment.

        • +2

          You're ass uming too much

    • +2

I've got the 24 inch one, I can say its a great quality monitor. At this price its a real bargain.

    • NVM, different model.

  • how good is it compared to the dell 22 or 24 inch ultra sharp monitors?

    • +1

get Dell if you want ergonomics. This monitor's stand is fixed

    • +1

This is just a Series 3 basic Samsung Monitor. Can't compare with those IPS panel Dell ultra sharp.

  • +9

Not to be picky, but the 24" is actually a buck less @ $137.00: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC9018/samsung-24-quot-led-s…

    • nice find! OP should update then

    • I saw that but no stock and no click and collect etc.

So I don't think they have stock.

      • +3

Yeah, fair point…sorry two stores near me had stock, so my egocentrism led me to not really care whether other stores might too! ;)

      • They do have stock in VIC and TAS at least. 4 in Watergardens Richmond VIC, rest apparently is in stores that are quite away out.

  • A good one with HDMI ports.

  • 21.5" for $119. I'm asking myself if I'm that much of a tightass that I'd go for a smaller screen just to save $19.

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC9016/samsung-21-5-quot-ful…

Packaged weight is slightly heavier than the 23". That's weird.

    • +3

Of course 23" no way to go back to 21.5"

      • Good enough for me :)

        • I've got a 1920x1080 21.5" monitor and find the pixel density to be a little bit too small so I would recommend 23".

        • I have a 24" at home and a 23" at work. I think 23" is my minimum for a FHD screen.

Thanks for talking me out of the other one OZB peeps :)

        • +2

I'm pretty sure you're the first person to complain about having a pixel density too high.

        • And that's why everyone goes for the smallest 1920x1080 monitor they can find? A high pixel density isn't always good, sure it looks sharper but text will be harder to read.

  • Good find OP, I cant find any difference in 23" and 24" models, why 24" is less by $1? Runout model?

    • by the specs, only the 1" size seems different. Assume must be older model?

  • NOOO damnit OP. I already have a S22B350, kinda want to upgrade my old LCD secondary screen….

  • +3

Ozbargain…. We come here to save money, yet right now I'm wondering if I could use a third monitor… sigh.

    • I know how you feel. I don't need one but I'm 5 mins away from the shop and I even drove to work today so I can get one and bring it home easy. Decisions decisions.

  • really tempted to get one of the 24" (a store near me has stock) to replace my 18" secondary monitor. might be overkill to run a 27" primary + 24" secondary though!

  • damn, I bought BenQ 21.5" at officework lastweek and it has no HDMI port.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Got a 24" to pickup!
All this talk of multiple monitors has made me jealous.
I'm using a FREE 17" LCD samsung syncmaster 713n scrounged off a recent street clean up!
Don't use the Desktop much, so will share duties with a PVR fed into the HDMI.

    • no audio out though on this one was a killer for me when i was wanting a xbox monitor i ended getting the asus from ple @ christmas for 150

      • Good value for the price. Just need external speakers & amp.
Have so many of those from same source as my old monitor - from the street. (Free Bose speakers + Pioneer amp)

  • Thanks op :) Got the display 23" @ $131, last unit instock @ Noosa. They do 5% off on display items I got told… and did not argue with that!

    • Nice. My 24" is new in box, in Brissie. I will probably have to settle for 5% rebate with an ING PayWave.

      • +1

No 24" in stock on the Sunshine Coast.
I am happy with what I got.

      • 5 % for $100?

this cost more, so no discount?

        • If you mean ING Paywave - split payment. (Haven't done at DS, but have done other places.)
          Brings down to $130.15!

  • Thanks :) got the 24" @ cairns. They have another one in stock but it had a massive scratch.

  • -6

no stock anywhere.. whts the point!

    • +2

23" stock everywhere and 24" stock somewhere.

Check first before you type, don't always hand faster than your brain.

  • +1

Picked up the 24" at Armadale WA 3 left

  • +1

I have a 24" at home allready, no VESA holes for wall or arm mounting, kinda miffed at that as I want to rearrange my room and would like to mount the monitor differently.

  • one ex-display 24" left in Victoria Gardens, VIC

    • Took the last ex-display 24" this afternoon. Got $10 off plus Woolies discount, down to $124. Great deal

  • Got 24" from Springfield, QLD, they have 3 more in stock.

  • The 24" is now available for home delivery. $9.95 postage to Sydney metro.

  • Store I went to had no stock of 23", though website said it did. ._. Anyway, probably getting a 24" one delivered, like dka said.

Edit: Never mind, home delivery not available again. Zzz.

  • Picked up a 24" at Robina QLD for $110 (repacked but perfect). One display 24" left but heaps of 23"

  • 23 and 24'' available at bankstown

Not sure how many they have but they had a big sign on the ones on display

  • What do people think about getting a display model? These aren't that new and they've probably clocked up a lot of hours?
There are a couple 24" display models left that I can have for $130.

    • If it was a TV, I would steer clear. They are on for 9 hours a day minimum 7 days a week.

Monitors are different, some arnt even plugged in for display purposes! Another thing to consider is how much you use it. If you use it for only a couple of hours a night, being a display model wont make much of a difference

      • The 23" & 24" display stock I saw was on, advertising the PCs they were connected to. So those were on about 60 hours a week for at least months. Some are not connected, but like a display model I saw, it was marked & missing everything except the screen & stand - even the power supply was missing. (Only $20 off sale price!!) I've seen display stock being bashed about by staff & on the floor in a pile after shelves collapsed. I'd never buy display stock from DS!

I'm watching recorded TV from a PVR on the 24" now, which was the last of the boxed stock. I'm likely to use it a lot more as a video monitor than for the PC, so clock up many hours a week.
