i prefer digital…. my old manual's timer is based off the microsoft minute.
I don't mind either, but my brother loves mechanical ones because they don't have a reminder beeper. Most digital ones always remind you every 5-10 minutes or so after the cooking is done. For him, its just annoying since he likes things to cool down first.
if you are using it for just reheating, , it's still acceptable to a certain extent. for cooking, I prefer more predictable outcomes.
but to each their own. Hopefully we get better at this technology.
fyi leaving a steaming pile of food with the door closed when nothing is happening is bad for the microwave and the food.
