New gen just announced for $249, but this is quite good for teenagers and kids.

  Definitely no deal, in fact it's closer to being a rip-off.

  I bought 4gen 16GB $168 @ OW last December

  This is the standard price pretty much, has been for a while. It's not a new gen that has just been announced it's a smaller current (5th) gen.

  Bought it a year ago for $177. This is a discountinued old product and shouldn't be affected by our low Aussie dollars. Is target out of its mind trying to clear it at this price or there is a buy one get one free fine print?

    My guess is that it's clearance stage 1 (of 5). Expect that all stores have plenty of stock.
    (got my iPod Touch 4 years ago @ $168 when white wasn't even a colour, and using it right now :-)
