  • meh… why not :).

Ordered in the past and was pretty painless, so I'll give them another go.
$1.06AU delivered btw for anyone interested.

What are you using them for? I haven't seen a keyboard or mouse with a PS2 plug in years.

You have not been in my shed.

      • I have a PS/2 mechanical keyboard that is extremely nice to type on. I would rather spend $1.06 on an adapter than $50+ on a new mechanical keyboard.

        • exactly my thoughts!

i have an old keyboard i cant use with new motherboards… and for $1 I'd like to try and get it working with the newer pc.

      • Those steel bodied IBM keyboards from the 80's are still working as well as ever. They can't be stopped, they can't be destroyed and they can't be reasoned with so you might as well try to accommodate them.

        • try smashing it with a Mac? ;)

  • Is anyone here using one of these USB-to-PS/2 adaptors?
I've never tried them and I know this is a cheap item but are there any trade-offs with this type of device?

    • Yeah I know what you mean….
You're concerned it might not transfer the keystrokes quick enough next time you are entering your credit card number on a OzB deal ?
And you might end up missing out ??

      • :) Like maybe not working with some ps/2 keyboards or that kind of thing, plus random not-workingness and other such issues. I wonder are they 100% reliable?

I have some old keyboards I wouldn't trade for any new ones, and I have them in BEIGE, not black. Win.

Perfect gadget for the true cheap-skate oz-bargainer who does not want to throw out his twenty-year-old keyboard and mouse.
They don't make 'em like they used to.

    • Indeed they don't. USB keyboards apparently have a six simultaneous key press limit (at most).

    • Word.

  • Grr why can't it be the other way around???!
I want something that will take a usb keyboard connector and convert to PS2 plug. Can save a USB back port for something else.

  • I have bought an extremely similar unit from dx, they are pretty flimsy, cases are only 2 halves clipped together and pop apart easily, and the its 2 plugs soldered to a board and when the case pops off the whole thing bends very easily. Had to replace mine 2 time after which I got the molded cable type, its a few cents more but infinitely better built
