30% off all Telstra PrePaid Handsets at Woolworths

260

There is 30% off all Telstra PrePaid handsets this week at Woolworths. I found this out this morning when I needed to pick up a temporary one. It's not advertised but the woman at the service counter said that it was across ALL Woolworths stores to clear out discontinued lines. But the 30% deal is on ALL Telstra handsets (old and new)! Apparently the sale has been on all week, so it finishes Sunday night.

**These are the current lines that *should be in stock:***
Nokia 2600 was $79 now $55.30 (I bought this one!)
Nokia 2680 was $129 now $90.30
Samsung A411 was $99 now $69.30

**These are the discontinued lines that *might be in stock:***
ZTE F256 was $129 now $90.30
LG TU500 was $179 now $125.30
Motorola Razr V3 XX was $199 now $139.30
Motorola Razr V3 Pink/Silver/Black was $99 now $69.30
Motorola Razr Maxx V6 was $249 now $174.30
Motorola C115 was $29 now $20.30
Nokia 1100 was $99 now $69.30
Nokia 2610 was $79 now $55.30
Nokia 2630 was $99 now $69.30
Nokia 6070 was $99 now $69.30
Nokia 6085 was $89 now $62.30
Nokia 6120 was $249 now $174.30
Siemens CF62 was $99 now $69.30
Sagem MY C5-2 was $99 now $69.30
Samsung A401 was $79 now $55.30
Samsung C300 was $59 now $41.30
Samsung C450 was $49 now $34.30

Apologies if I haven't written the full product name for each item, but the woman wouldn't give me the piece of paper she had, so I had to jot it all down on the back of an envelope.
As far as I know all Telstra handsets come with $10 credit and a $27.50 unlocking fee applies if you want to move to another network. (At least this was my experience with the Nokia 2600 that I bought).

I know they're all pretty basic phones, but they're good for the kids or as backups or whatever.

PS This is my first submission so be nice :P I can probably scan my docket if someone wants to verify the 30% discount.

  • Great find mate, well done. DSE also have a really cheap phone unlocked. Samsung I believe, going for about 49 bucks flat.

  • That $27.50 is after 12 months. It costs more before.
They are not ALL basic: The 6120 is a Symbian smartphone.

    • I can't be certain of the unlock fee. From what I've heard of other people's experiences, it often depends on the particular person on the other end of the phone. I got my Nokia 2600 unlocked for $27.50 about 45 minutes after I bought it and I had only recharged with $20 (plus the $10 included). But as this unlocking fee is common to ALL Telstra handsets sold by any retailer, I think this deal is more about the price of the phone itself :)

  • Is the software on the phone Telstra branded? Ie. Does it have Telstra logos and references in the menus etc.

    Thanks!

  • I went to get a Nokia 2600 at my local Safeway (VIC) but it scanned in at $79. The lady was not aware of the 30% off discount. :(

  • ndc - I have a friend who works at Woolies and I asked him why it didn't come up with the discount. He said that the item actually has to be scanned onto the docket (it won't work if you do a price inquiry) in order to show up as the cheaper price.

Like on my docket, the Nokia 2600 says $79, but then the next line has "Telstra 30% Off -$23.70". So make sure they actually scan it onto the docket.

I guess the trouble with Woolies and a deal like this is that most people working there wouldn't have a clue. Ah well..

  • +1

i found Motorola c115 for 29$ at woolies ermington and when asked the price they said after scanning is 19$. So I agreed to buy but when they scanned for bill, the system give 30% off of 19$ (final price 13.30$ with 10$ credit!). They also got a Nokia 6085 in stock.

So the offer is still exist !.
