What else credit card have this kind of price protection?
BankWest platinum does as well but they often have a minimum price difference for claims. Ie - more than $70 difference etc

For those who bought one last time, is the sound quality good? By good I mean worth owning a soundcard for? (With cheaper speakers, you can't tell the difference between soundcard and onboard audio).
it's got similar or slightly better quality than the Logitech Speaker System Z623. And I owned a Z623 which was awesome however it had a short life.
I bought mine a couple of years ago at $200 and thought they were a bargain even at that price. At $90, they were insane value, and I'm out of superlatives at $44.75.
ok, I just got the T3. Sice i have owned both sets of speakers (z623 and T3), I can conclude that Z623 is definitely the winner here esp, the bass is unparallelled. But for $44.75, it's a great price for this product.

Both are very good. At less than $50 this is a no-brainer buy.
Z623 has more powerful satellites and is THX certified which T3 is not - but both very good for computer or tv use…
Apparently "audiophile grade" which means the specs are full of hyperbole and bullshit, and no annoying technical mumbo jumbo like RMS power or distortion level. Anyone know the rating?
I got the cheaper T6160, and the sound is good, but can produce nothing like the power level they specify.These are pretty awesome, paid $100 second hand a couple years ago for them and for the price of $45…. wow.

I had problems with the volume control. The volume fluctuates loud and soft which is not something you'd want in a sound system. This happened about 9 months after purchase.
Just grabbed one it was priced at $299 on the shelf.
At $299, they are a waste of money.
They are good at $89, not great.

If you don't want to wait for delivery Officeworks just priced matched the logitech Z623 price and took an additional 5% off, they sound awesome!

I bought one 2 weeks ago at $90. It looks good. It's put together quite well and the sound is clean and has decent bass. I like how you don't hear that annoying hiss when nothing is playing. I don't have a soundcard, but I would struggle to find a reason to buy an added soundcard nowadays.
For $45, don't even think about it. If you can find one get it.

Got one from watergardens, victoria, still 3 left plus display, the guy working there offered me a 12 month extended warranty just for $1 extra so I paid $45.75 all up, more than happy with the deal.

Coming from a set of Z-2300's, I think I like these better (listening to them now).
Is the passive sub design more powerful?
The sub must be a little over half as big as the Z-2300 sub, but I think that it puts outs a -better- bass note. By that I mean that the Z2300's are stupidly loud and I can shake the walls of the house with just the one sub, but the sub on the T3's sounds -better-. The notes are more pronounced and the range is better, versus just an OOMPH from the logitechs.

Called Altona and Point cook, missed the last of the stock as they sold out the weds night, called Moonee Ponds and they had one on hold for someone until COB Wednesday night, totally lucked out and got it,- 6 month display model, prefect condition (save for a scratch or two on the underside of the speakers) and wrangled a 12 month extended warranty for 5 bucks! Awesome day! Thanks op - you rock!!
