According to Eneloop wiki specs, these aren't the latest generation and the stock could be 2-3 years old. So the "new" claim on the pack is a bit misleading..
They're either used, or they're new. Black and white.

These are not a new model. When a product states 'new' on the packaging it's referencing a new or updated product.

And you can bet it's much newer stock, not that aged stock necessarily matters much with Eneloop but it's still worth noting.
Plus, DSE sell the pretty glitter and probably forever in future, the new gen Tones.
Pretty colours may just seem like hype but I personally find it easier to organise. YMMV.
