Can anyone post an officework receipt for price match please?

Could any one post a dick smith receipt for price match at officeworks please.

    • That would be nice! Also do the links work for others? I cant see the page on DSE anymore?

  • talking to the manager didnt help :(

all store managers are experienced with pricematch, they usually won't pricematch with below cost price, you should find those young teens or those over 60 years old granie

  • thanks op got the last one on display at OW. bargain after Acer Cashback brings it down to $176.17 . btw DSE garden city was showing low stock today. good luck with OW price match as its up to their discretion as it has a different graphics.

    • I imagine OW will be wise to this discrepancy by the morning…

i3+4GB+500GB+1yr accidental damage warranty for $188. Isn't that the best low end lappy deal in many months? Amazed this uber-bargain doesn't have more votes?

      • the 'cool' kids are in the ipad 3 section creaming over the deal :D

      • I agree. This was a kick-ass deal. It was the first laptop deal on this site that I have taken advantage of, and I jumped on it in a hurry. The OW laptop is just a little underpowered for me (I'd prefer having a graphics card and a USB 3 port) but this was PERFECT for upgrading my mom's ageing laptop.

  • Can anyone plz post their DickSmith and OW Receipts, will be very helpful for all of us to run and grab one 1st thing in morning :D

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Got one price-matched at OfficeWorks Fairy Meadow. They said I got the last one, but there's one display left.

  • oops

Thanks OP for posting - a great bargain!

  • Bummer, it's no longer listed on Dick's website! I was lazy last night and thought I'd wait till the morning go to officeworks, kinda wish I'd went now.

  • West Gosford Office Works wouldn't price match for me since the Model at DSE was slightly different. Can anyone post something that I can use to force them? A receipt of similar.

  • I just talked to the call centre and straight up she knew about the graphics card.

  • Could anyone post a receipt here with thanks

  • Can someone please post a receipt or invoice from DSE or Office works? DSE link does not work anymore.

    Thanks heaps

  • The Acer cashback site is still not letting me register the SNID but I'm hopeful given the success that others have had that this will be sorted out.

    • give them a call, they are very helpful just let them know your part number,

which has been discussed numerously above on which ones qualify and which ones don't

  • no one posting evidence :( sob

    • I don't see how it will help.
Officeworks are aware of the differences now and most likely sent out a notice to all stores.

Just because someone else was lucky enough to get it price matched due to someones oversight does not obligate officeworks to do it again.

  • I bought the display piece at Chatswood today.. They reduced a further $30 so costed me $219. Will get another $20 off through the TRS. Not bad for under $200, me thinks.

  • Thank you OP I was able to close the deal after a 40 minute drive as DSE closed in my town.
Of course I had to make it worth my while…

Also used father in laws discount card and got a few more xbox games and searched the store for anything else bargain worthy.

Interesting thing was they had them all packed away presumably waiting for payday next week :)

  • can anyone who brought it from office works tell me if the box included any cd's please? I brought the last one on display and only got the power adapter and notebook so I don't know if its missing anything. I cant find a second partition for the windows 8 os recovery.

    • They no longer provide copies of media.
There will be a hidden partition you cannot see in disk management it's about 1.4GB.
The only thing you're missing is some paper work related to operation and warranty.

I installed a fresh copy of Windows 8 today without a problem, you should be able to find a copy to download if you don't have one.

      • thanks mate. how did you install a fresh copy of Windows 8? I tried pressing the f8 and F12 during boot up to no avail. what key do you need to how down to access the hidden partition to install a fresh copy of windows 8?

        • You can have the computer set itself back to factory defaults using Acer E Recovery in Windows, it will give you a fresh Acer install.

I don't know if there is a BIOS option to access recovery.

Once you're all setup you can use more Acer software to create recovery DVDs for future use in case windows is inaccessible. Your computer should prompt you numerous times with a popup in the bottom right corner to create these DVDs.

If you want to install a vanilla version of Windows 8 you can download one from the net and use that, I'll see if I can find an official download. This is what I did as there are just so many unnecessary programs.

Also if you like having the Windows 7 style start menu download this http://download.cnet.com/Start8/3000-2072_4-75732532.html?pa…
it's really good IMO, you get a 30 day trial and if you like it you can purchase it for $4.99 (might be USD) also if you like their facebook page you get 10% off.
